AMERICAblog: Bush preference for political operatives hurting EPA

"Who needs science when you can have a political hack instead?"
And who needs Justices when you can have political hacks instead?

Well, what about a story on the Supremes approving the horrible Indiana vote law? That sure will hurt the Dem GOTV efforts in the general election. And Justice Soulter raised serious concerns in his dissent on the validity of the majority's stance.

Hmm, it was my understanding that at least one A-blogger had been studying the law in the past and thus should be able to offer a somewhat professional opinion on this. Would be great to read something here about this important topic, for a change...

Rapture ready Republicans have no stake in saving the planet. Those who believe Jesus will swoop down from Heaven at any moment think protecting the environment is silly.

I'm watching (on CSPAN), the questioning of Jeremiah Wright by the MSM after his Press Club speech. Boy, they have absolutely no CLUE as to what this man was even talking about. And they're beating him to death on every single "news" show. They would prefer to let the simmering issue of race in the US and genocide in foreign countries just escape totally (main meme: there are "issues in the presidential race that are more important").

The press doesn't even understand the style of black preachers, much less the content (and that applies to those black news people and commentators who have been sucked into white consciousness, like Juan Williams, Roland Martin, etc.)

I couldn't even watch the news yesterday--it was full of condemnation for this man--who far betters understands what goes on in the world and how it affects people than the MSM puppets do.

Even as an atheist, I'm tempted to call the United Church of Christ close by me and join...

And who needs any serious thinking in America, the Junior High School, when you have stimulating media like "Yo Mama Don't Dance" and endless crap about Obama's bowling scores? Or really enervating shit like the ad to the right here on this screen about the "Sexiest Stars"????

Under the guise of "freedom of academic speech" the Florida Republican-dominated House of Representatives recently passed a resolution requiring that science teachers include "intelligent design" and "creation" as valid alternatives to liberal notions such as "evolution" and "physical evidence."
There's no sense being upset about it, I think we've reached the point where just don't do business with people so incompetent that they tap into that nonsense. Got a lawn guy who's bumper sticker tells you his "boss" is a "Jewish carpenter"? This isn't about freedom of speech or religion, it's about allowing incompetent people to work for us. Deal with it in the Donald's words, "You're fired!"

"Academic speech" implies (and requires) rigorous discipline; "intelligent design" and "creationism" doesn't because there is nothing "academic" about it. Neither does believing in the tooth fairy, the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

More dumbing down of the US. No wonder we have to import so many real scientists to this country who aren't exposed to this shit in their own countries.

Apparently the Republicans believe that profits for companies and their CEOs are more important than actually helping Americans.

CSPAN just reported that in Iowa Obama is running 8 pts over McCrazy; Clinton and McCrazy are even. So, it looks like Iowa wasn't a fluke, after all.

Now, the question is: who will white women vote for? This one is for Obama in NC where he's also leading, although the Clinton camp's war to destroy Obama's credibility with all the Jeremiah Wright bullshit has cost him several points over her, but he's still far ahead, 51-37.

Someone please come up with an estimate of the number of years it will take to rid all Government Agencies of the political hacks George Bush has brought into the Civil Service structure?

Think on in! The damage in the "ranks" of Government Agencies is every bit as bad as the national debt the Republicans have created in 8 years.
