AMERICAblog: Bush speechwriter/Leading Neocon: It's over for McCain. He's lost and the rest of the Republicans are in big trouble.

  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
It all works towards the change we need in the country. The Republican brand will never be the same. It's not about rebuilding. The very nature and soul of the Democratic party is inclusiveness. You see it in the rallies! The diversity of the Democratic party is overwhelming.

Compare this with the total lack of meanigful representation in Republican rallies, and in their stump speech rhetoric. The Republican party is dying! It's impossible for their party to address the needs of the ever-growing diversity of America--or the world.

Blackwolf who runs with the bears - its time to take out the Halloween skeletons, put a "GOP" sign on them, and start hanging them from Highway bridges!
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
I think we're going to do it red_dwarf. McCain is addresssing New Mexico and almost choked on the word "Hispanic"...lol. I'm amazed that people are listening to the McCain rhetoric. I'd like to see the Obama presidency re-educate America on economics.

Do it house by house, hamlet by hamlet, town by town, and city by city. Trickle down ecomonics is an illusion. Even Bush #1 called it Voodo Economics...lolllllllll. I have no problem with wealth, as I aspire to it daily. I dream about it! But, I realize that if the middle class isn't on top of their game--there will be nothing for the upper class to "RAPE, PILLIAGE, AND PLUNDER".

Beef up the middle class red_dwarf! Beef if up and make America strong again:)

    Goodmorning, democrats! I still can't believe the way everything seems to be crumbling around Palin/McCain. From BuzzFlash I saw this headline;

Whoa! The Anchorage Daily News, Alaska's Largest Paper, Endorses Barack Obama, In Part Because They Know Sarah Palin -- And They Fear Her Being One Heartbeat (or Melanoma) Away from the Presidency! Holy Igloo! "Like picking Sen. McCain for president, putting her one 72-year-old heartbeat from the leadership of the free world is just too risky at this time."

The only poll that counts is the one on Nov. 4.... unfortunately, the Wimpocrats failed to care enough to insist on paper ballots for this election. So the election will be decided mostly by computer voting; and, uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, guess who (it will turn out) controls that, all over the country ?

Ya know... I'd be more featful of a stolen election if it weren't for all the polls showing Obama ahead and the HUGE early voting going on. Those in power know the only way to steal elections is to make it close and this one is not close enough to steal.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
this one is not close enough to steal

You make the assumption that there are rational limits to how far the Republicans are willing to go to steal this election. Maybe I'm being polemic, but I don't think the word "rational" is applicable to this Republican party. The only way to prevent them from stealing this election is that Obama's victory is so massively overwhelming that limitations like precincts where electronic balloting is not allow, dominate the result so no matter what the Republicans do, they cannot commit enough fraud to steal this election. Otherwise, we will see results like precincts with 50,000 voters reporting that 100,000 out of 150,000 voted for McCain and the Republican candidates with Pelosi and Reid clucking madly away under their beds, proud of how many eggs they laid.

I predicted over a year ago that this would be the YouTube Election. In the past, McCain and Palin could race bait in Mississippi and play nice in NH -- and no one would be the wiser. However, this year, when she dons her sheet and hood in the the red states, it's all over YouTube in an hour. They didn't understand this. In national politics, you don't play on a local stage any more -- everything you do is all over the country in minutes.

The blogosphere played a big role this year as well, holding the MSM's feet in the fire and debunking one phony issue after another.

New media ruled -- along with an awesome candidate for the Dems.

Polls are one thing. Votes are another. These "McCain Lost" pundits and posts make me edgy. Let's not let down our guard until the elections are certified, OK?
  • red_dwarf · 1 year ago
Happy - I have always been a pundit of the GOP stealing the election, as they did in 2000 and 2004. Either with electronic voting machines (no paper trails, not enough machines, disposal, etc, etc - not only a disgrace but unconstitutional as well) or by triggering another false flag.

But I changed my mind a few weeks ago. The $2 trillion that they just stold from the treasury strikes me as a "...take the money and run" strategy. So, I believe that they know they are going to lose and there is little they can do about it. Let's hope the next generation and the generation after that keep these filthy pigs from holding office for the next 50+ years.
  • Eyeball_Kid · 1 year ago
You're quite likely correct. 9/11 began the juggernaut. The 700 billion dollar bailout ended it.

Frum is still an arrogant, fascist bastard. He mourns the loss of Rethug congressionals, saying it's not good to have so much power in the hands of one party (Democratic) but he absolutely wet himself for 6 years while the Fourth Reich controlled all 3 branches.

Throw his ass in jail for war crimes while we're at it. And I'll know we have an actual free press when the MSM stop hiring these assholes as "commentators" and wasting valuable air and press time, and falsely presenting them as "political experts" instead of the propagandists they really are. Cheeeez. I mean when are we going to get real journalists back, not "interviewers" who can't even ask proper questions? Let's have some damned real reporting and analysis, for chrissakes.

AMEN! And, lets have some REAL balance in the media instead of EVERYTHING being fed to the American people being either RIGHT WING or slight left of center as if that is some kind of balance? These are a few of my FAVORITE THINGS:

"[T]hank God she's not going to have to be president from Day One. ,"Joe Lieberman said.

The Dems' Project New West has its sights set on Arizona and they say McCain's lead is down to a slim 4 points.
Democrats are circulating a poll showing Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) losing ground in his own state, an ominous sign for his beleaguered campaign as state after state turns blues.

Former Bush adviser Karl Rove said Sunday that the finger-pointing within Republican ranks is a “sad sight to see,” criticizing some within John McCain's presidential campaign for airing their internal grievances before Election Day.
“It’s a sign of undisciplined people who do not have loyalty that they ought to have to the candidate,” Rove said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Crowd for Senator Obama in Albuquerque, N.M., last night: 35,000 inside and another 10,000-15,000 outside.

Crowd for Senator McCain in Albuquerque, N.M., yesterday: 1,400 according to the McCain campaign, 1,000 or less according to reporters.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Sad? It should be terrifying to that criminal Karl Rove! I'm sure he has been wearing lots of Depends, lately.

I think it all boils down to one basic saying . . . .

On November 5th if a see a house with the feet of the GOP / Republican party sticking out I will gladly sing:

"Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
    Let them know
    The Wicked Witch is dead!"

    Until then... I trust nothing!
  • brilliantatbreakfast · 1 year ago
I wouldn't break out the champagne just yet. There's an awful lot of vote-flipping from Dem. to Rep. going on in FL, GA, VA, IN, OH, NM, TN, and WV already. Chuck Todd said this AM that in Georgia and NC, where they track who shows up early, black voter turnout is 95-100%. So look for Republican thugs to start leaving flyers that state that Democrats vote on Wednesday the 5th and challenging black voters on Election Day.

There's still a lot that can go on between now and November 4 to help the Republicans steal it again.

November 5th you can celebrate. Maybe. And even then, only for about five minutes if Obama prevails. Then we have to spend the next 4 years getting his back against the smear machine looking for his Whitewater.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago

As well as backstopping him from bullets, bombs, rockets, etc. "Sticks and Stones:" and all that but with the Republicans they are going to be backing up their words with more lethal stuff than just more words.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I find this particularly amusing from Frum:

"Second, the political culture of the Democratic Party has changed over the past decade. There's a fierce new anger among many liberal Democrats, a more militant style and an angry intolerance of dissent and criticism. This is the culture of the left-wing blogosphere and MSNBC's evening line-up -- and soon, it will be the culture of important political institutions in Washington. "

Fierce new anger to match that of Republican cheerleaders like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter? LOL!

I'm glad we have put them on notice. We've learned to be fighting progressives, and damn right we are pissed at what they have done to our nation.

"As a top guy at AEI, this is Frum sending the message that the Neocon crowd thinks the presidential races is over. That crowd never liked McCain and they're throwing him over the cliff."
Sorry, Joe, but this is a complete misreading. First, as Holbo ("Dead Right") conclusively demonstrated, Frum's conservatism has always been at root an aesthetic preference: he is neither a card-carrying neo-con nor the logical spokesman for their views. AEI is neo-con, but not all recipients of wingnut welfare get subjected to the ideological means-testing that, say, NR imposed on Chris Buckley. More importantly, the neo-con crowd ALWAYS loved McCain--they flirted with Rudy only when in 2007 it looked like McCain was going nowhere and they needed a different mad bomber with some chance at the nomination. When Giuliani collapsed, they were happy to rejoin McCain. The people who never liked McCain and who will leave him now are the theocons. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's all good, but you can't tell your players without a scorecard.

Hey Frum, The republicans are losing because of the philosophy of the party. People don't want Brother Bush telling us what to do in our bedrooms. People want government regulating Wall Street. People want help with healthcare, social security, medicare, and medicaid plus unemployment benefits when they can't find work. Government should work for all of us not just the wealthy.

When Frum concedes defeat, it's time to get worried about this: the Fix is In. He's adding to the media salad that's being tossed as overconfidence on the part of the Obama Campaign. Frum is legitimizing the human tendency to lay down one's guard. And that's the problem here.

Let's still EXPECT that, on a nation-wide scale, the Republican Party will employ perhaps five or six groups of tactics which, if executed correctly, will hand the Presidency to McCain. One of those groups of tactics is to amplify the "Obama is the winner" narrative theme so that Dems will become complacent. That's when the election fraud program will move into full swing.
