AMERICAblog: By the end of June, we're going to have a Democratic civil war

You kind of have to wonder what the Clintons have on all these people. If it's nothing, why are they all so frightened?

It's not like it's urgent or anything, huh?

They've gone from trying to letting Hillary down gently to only encouraging her.

bring it on! :) thanks to BO, we have the voters AND the $ (<50% eligible actually vote, pre-BO). It's time to dump the corporate-caving, hillary-backing, repub-lite, neo-liberal, lobbyist-loving, elitist, blue dog wing. who needs them.

Actually, that is a pretty safe comment from Pelosi because the DNC rules committee is supposed to make a decision over the weekend regarding the delegates of Florida and Michigan. That should end it right there. Could Pelosi be issuing a subtle warning to Clinton NOT to continue after the decision is made?

Clinton can appeal any decision to the Credentials Committee which meets, I think, at the end of June. I believe Credentials Committee includes a majority of Obama people. It's the Credentials Comm. decision that Hillary will likely try to appeal to the floor of the convention where I think it will be shut down immediately, and by overwhelming vote.

I agree 1000%. Why not wait until Christmas, indeed. It was disheartened to read her comments yesterday. The leaders of our party (the LEADERS, mind you) are waiting for the superdelegates so pathetic, ineffectual and cowardly that they have not made a decision until now. What is wrong with this picture?

The party has rules which must be followed.

They are collectively begging for a GOP victory in November. The future of all of our civil rights and our nations health are in the balance here. McCain, as prez, will make the SCOTUS so far right, it will be several generations before it swings back to the middle. This Hillary battle is ruining the nation, in the long run.
Time to learn "O Canada" in French and English.

If anyone is really waiting for Pelosi to step in and do something (or even say something strong) they're in for a long wait. She's incapable of it.
Hillary will NEVER be satisfied with what the democratic party decides --- so she'll branch off in complete disgust and start her own party The Clinton Party --- and demand to be placed on every ballot in every state for the November general election. When she loses in November, she will hold up the election with all kinds of legal shouts to SCOTUS. Hillary and her miserable camp are a bunch of ruiners and losers. She should be kicked out of the Senate for her contemptible actions.

The democrate have just one problem: HILLARY CLINTON. Please baby, go away now !
Please, give me one reason to adore Pelosi. Please, give me one example where she has done something "smart". All I see is a doormat and a lack of appropriate action.

The House has actually passed a lot of good stuff since she took over.
It all gets killed as soon as it reaches the senate.

The House passing good stuff since she took over has very little to do with Nancy. Still waiting on a smart thing she has done, or a reason to adore her.

I'm with Lucky Hussein on this too. In 1948 the Democrats split 3 ways. The left and right wings walked completely out of the party. And Truman still won.
But that was when a "machine politician" wasn't one who actually used machines to get elected. Maybe that's the deal-- make enough smoke so people think the fire that gives us President McQueeg isn't from massive numbers of people being denied a vote, like the last two times.
The "inevitable" Hillary Clinton being shut out, though-- actually going broke, and resorting to the kind of equivocating stalls we hear from the liars on the right-- this might be our chance to dump the DLC. If they're stupid enough to climb on the Titanic-- I mean Hillary's bandwagon-- makes it easier to cut them loose.

Maybe breaking her financially is the method to use.
Eventually, she'll have to cave.
(BTW: Why is there a "record video comment" option when I reply to another message? Is here some new upgrade I didn't hear about?)

I think they're all afraid of being accused of not :respecting the will of the people" -- the voting is over. We can't wait for the Democratic Party leaders or the super delegates or the Tim Russerts or Hillary Clinton. The people have to take control and give Hillary the heave-ho. The Democratic Party CANNOT waste all the people's time and money that has gone into Barack Obama.

The Democratic party has suffered from the image of being weak, not up to the job of defending or governing the US. The lack of courage on the part of the party to oppose Bush on the war and many other issues (veto/filibuster phobia) merely reinforces that image. Now we have a party in which the Republicans will wage one very tired and old argument on national security. The bottom line will once again be that Democrats are indecisive and weak. Clinton does not have a realistic chance to win, the party needs to come together as soon as the last votes are in from the primaries. Clinton can be tamed or disowned publicly if necessary. However, I have turned from a Clinton supporter to a fierce opponent because of her tactics and willingness to destroy the party to either hijack the election or weaken Obama so that she can run against McCain the next time.

Good Lord... How can you all just dismiss these Obama/Clinton/McSame polls?
What are you trying to say? That Clinton will do better against McCain? Those stats don't take into account that Obama has totally treated Clinton with kid gloves (unlike her 'kitchen sink' strategy). You just wait 'til the Rethugs get at Clinton - That's when you're actually going to see HER tested, and when HER negatives will soar..
I live in a red county of a so-called swing state, and I know several Republicans who will either crossover or stay home if Obama runs. Those same people will race like a tsunami to get their ballots in if Clinton runs.
That can't *just* be the case in my little community either...

Advancing $25 to Barack Obama now and then is a great way to do something about all this.
Mrs. ENABLER who started her Speaker of the House role as a DEFEATEST by saying "impeachment is off the table".
I don't know any gay person who even respects her let alone "adore" her!

I read somewhere that Clinton gets a month to appeal the Saturday decision, but I really think the superdelegates are going to negate that rule on June 4.

John... its called 'flexing her muscles'.
Pelosi isn't going to do anything... this will end before she has to put up or shut up anyway... she knows that.
hillary might want to take it to the convention, but before then Obama will have the 2029 he needs.
so hillary can just pout and make all sorts of statements about sexism, it just makes her look bad anyway.
as for dividing the Democratic party, hillary has done about as much as she can do to that end... we'll have to see if Obama can heal wounds and win hearts after she SHUTS THE FUCK UP!!
whoops, did I mention I think hillary should go away?? and she's really starting to piss me off?

I had hoped that Pelosi would be good, but she has shown an ability to do nothing, and is still showing the same ability. Polls can be skewed to whatever the polltaker wants them to be. Have you ever taken a poll? The questions can be really deceptive and twisted. The person reading the questions - like in a phone poll - can be very leading in asking the questions. I don't believe the polls. I do believe that people can be swayed to vote along with what they think is the majority. For that reason, I believe there should be NO polls and media coverage until the polls are closed.
