AMERICAblog: CATO slams Palin's record of tax increases on Big Oil

  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
There was a net page describing what Palin believes/favors, one of those statements said she believes/favors Obama's energy proposals. Dammit, either the page has been scrubbed or I just can't find it.

Hi there Aquarius! Yes, they are busy scrubbing faster than my momma in our bathroom back home.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
LOL I found one article but just don't like spending an hour finding more. She definitely was FOR Obama's energy policies BEFORE she was against him
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Yes, it was on Politico, wasn't it? I think I remember reading about it what? A few weeks ago?

    ----------OT----------
Ahhh, wouldn't you know it, another love letter from the hard right. This time it's from Rep. Lynn Westmoreland who is now calling Obama "uppity".

    Nothing racist there....

Hey, isn't this the same guy who couldn't repeat the 10 Commandments, after pledging that he will fight for the right of posting them in any public place? It was a one on one interview on The Colbert Report sometime last year.

OK, I just found the link on Comedy Central and it's a HOOT. Please, enjoy!

    SO True,
SP is a tax and spend Republican addicted to state handouts - a "welfare mom".
Barack should propose handing every American (except Alaskans) $1600 next year
from a windfall tax on Big Oil's record profits .
or at the least point out the hypocrisy when they next attack his windfall tax proposal,
or better still have Biden proactively raise this point in the VP debate.
If SP & the GOP protest, then have them ask Alaskans to give up their state handouts (can you say Secession).
Breathing is free, not a service to the community, as Alaskans seem to believe.

If the American people cannot see the similarities between Bush/Cheney and McCain/Palin, then we are doomed. Palin has been presented in a totally different way, to what she really is. Everyday, we hear that she is not what she pretends to be.
She is yet another rethuglican involved with big oil, and will do her utmost to give them big perks, ignoring the needs of the people, like the two present oil barons in the WH.

The media should ask, what exactly Palin stated in her speech yesterday, that showed what McCain and she would do to help the people of this country, who are in dire straits. Apart from a speech consisting of ridicule and mockery, which I would give her top marks for, she spoke well, dropping the "g's" in her words ending with "ing", but the content was disappointing.

Oh man, Pat Buchanan is presently crapping himself in anger on "Hardball." It's epic. He's going to have a heart attack over this, and Matthews is loving it.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
WOW, Matthews was brilliant! You know, he does have some good points every now and then...
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I have a different opinion of Matthews after seeing him in person over a couple of days in Denver. I get a sense that the man absolutely loves politics. He loves the battle, has a huge knowledge of historical facts and generally is a nice and funny guy with crowds. All that said, he can still make me want to push him over the cliff sometimes.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Oh I agree with you that he adores politics. Frankly, I think he eats and sleeps the stuff (good thing his wife is/was an anchor for the DC news).

What has ALWAYS driven me nuts about him is his open biases; be they for Obama or McCain (with whom he positively used to wet himself anytime he interviewed the guy).

So tell me, how did you like the convention? I really envied you being there and even though I don't know what you look like, every time the cameras scanned the crowd, I would look for you! LOL

Would-be President Palin opposes stem cell research.

The crap on this woman just keeps flowing.

SARAH PALIN IS IRRELEVANT -- LET'S GET REAL FOR A MOMENT

Assuming, for the sake of discussion, the best case scenario for McCain and he wins ALL the deeply red states AND AK, AZ, TX, MO, IN, WV and GA, which he should do, AND also the states of NV, MT, ND, SD, CO, VA, NC and NH, which he shouldn"t do, in order to reach 270 electoral votes he"d have to ALSO win either OH and PA or OH and FL or PA and FL. Go to the electoral-vote.com website and make a realistic evaluation. Anybody want to give me odds on McCain being able to do that?

Once the Jewish community learns all about Sarah Palin's anti-Semitic connections, Florida will tip over into Obama's column.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
It depends, Israel First or Alaska First??
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
Palin takes pride in saying she sold Alaska's jet aircraft on E-Bay.

Well, just how are Alaska state officials expected to get around the great state . . . a state that is one-fifth the size of the entire lower 48 states.
