And Bush was out smiling and having a wonderful time at the Easter Egg Hunt at the White House this morning. And what's worse, the Corporate-distract-the-people-MSM was covering it--in depth--as though it were news, and the 4,000 dead Americans was just a simple announcement.

Joe, please. As misguided as they might have been, those 4,000 didn't sacrifice for me at all. That statement just twists the reasons for this imperialistic adventure--an invasion that shouldn't have happened, a continuation that is an abomination.

Going into the 6th year of this miserable war and for what? These men and women in this mosaic died in a battle that never should have been. This war was not in retaliation for 9/11, hell Bil Laden is a forgotten name, no these valiant men and women died for the Cheney/Bush quest to control the mid-east oil and protection for Israel. It makes me so sad to know these men and women will never know a full life that should have been theirs but because of Bush their lives ended on some foreign soil.

During the five years of the Iraq War, 13,000 American adults and children were killed by cell-phone related traffic accidents. (Cell phone distraction causes 2,600 deaths and 330,000 injuries in the United States every year, according to the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.) There were about 215,000 total traffic deaths during the Iraq War.

You have now posted your comments twice and both times I thought "what does this have to do with our young men and women sent to do battle in an unjust war?" The cell phone death thing is the type of moral relativism wingers claim to abhor... Cafeteria Conservatism Bush-style might indeed find cell phone carnage equivalent to war deaths...certainly lever-pulling hands could appear less bloody to the uninformed.

I'm still waiting for someone anyone to state we reached the 4,000 milestone on Easter. Yes, Easter. No one has made that particular comment, yet, but I trust if this milestone were reached during GAY PRIDE in any city in the world it would be conflated and the talking heads would twitter about it non-stop for a week. We would constantly here, "Deadly 4,000 grim milestone reached during Gay Pride parade in San Francisco! American Fundamentalist everywhere claiming God is sending America an obvious message."

The Bush administration's deceptive pretext for our country's occupation of Iraq has been "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here." Now that it is clear that the chicken hawks' colossal error in judgment on Iraq is pushing our economy to the brink of ruin, I think the saying should be, "spending our money over there so we don't have to spend it here."
