Video... please say you have video

The video is on Raw Story. There is no doubt that he was booed, but the announcer sure was a big suck-up to try to cover it up.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Only one-third boo-ed him? I live in DC and 99% of people here despise him, so I'd say that we were being extremely polite to him tonight.

Funniest story on the internet right here, already known to some as the "I'm Gwen and I'm here to wash you vagina" story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAmcPS6xoZA&feat...
  • hdaman · 1 year ago
thank you... BTW, I am in Herndon, VA and we hate him too.
  • Cornelius20 · 1 year ago
Frankly, I'm surprised he got as many cheers as he did. Was it out of misguided respect for Bush? Or misplaced respect for the position of POTUS? Or did they screen ticket holders for their political preferences? Or did they pipe in cheers via the speaker system? Inquiring minds want to know.

On the plus side, though, this was the last time Bush can throw out the opening pitch at a baseball game. Thank God (and the Constitution) we won't have to see his smirk much longer (I hope).

Only one problem Cornelius20, if Monkey King Bush gets Old McCain in the whitehouse, those on the right-wing-wacko side of the fence will continue their attempts to shred the US Constitution.

And honestly, did 2/3rd of the crowd cheer on the Monkey King or did another 1/3 just sit there quietly laughing at the 1/3 cheering the PUTS named Bush?
  • martha · 1 year ago
Yea, why didn't the whole crowd boo him? Americans are idiots. 4 years ago we knew the war was a disaster based on lies, the economy was tanking, our rights were being taken away, but the American people voted Bush back in. Hey, McCain will probably win in Nov. I mean, he is going to "win" in Iraq.

Evan as a young man McCain was a pompous ass, dressed in his gleaming flight suit singing 'Bomb bomb bomb Viet Cong'.
  • martha · 1 year ago
Thanks for the video. I think the original estimate was correct. ONLY a third were booing. And the press was of course all gaga over him - remembering 9/11 - 9/11 - 9/11.

Max Mosley faces calls to quit as Formula One chief after ‘Nazi’ orgy

Max Mosley, one of the most powerful men in world sport, was under pressure to resign as boss of Formula One’s governing body last night after he was exposed enjoying a Nazi-style orgy with five prostitutes.

    ----

    Who knows?

Gotta remember: You're going to get a lot of affluent people on opening day. Also, the high registers (like cheering) tend to overpower the low ones (like booing).

After that, they can play lots of tricks.

Turn up the mikes where Repub guests are sitting? Mix the sound so the low registers are reduced?

And, you know, Cheney got booed like crazy last time and Bush avoided the place altogether, so don't tell me they didn't at least think about ways of covering it up.
  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
1/3rd? all you could hear was boos!

the american people get their chance to speak very rarely (the media control over "opinion" is pretty powerful of course) and this is one of those times they spoke rather loudly.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
So basically 2/3 of the crowd cheered because they were afraid he'd call in an air strike if they didn't.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I heard Bush was staring alot during the interview.

He's on medication. I just know it.

I still bet Bush won't be physically at the GOP Convention in September.
Something will "happen" for some reason...
Laura is sick or He's sick.....
but whatever it is...he won't be there....

    OT;

Obama should have went down to Texas to make a big deal out of the victory.

    You know Hillary would have.

After huge turnouts, record number of participants at our Senatorial "County" Conventions, Texas Democratic leaders are happy with the new infusion of enthusiasm in our state. In reality, it's Barack Obama who has been very good for the party.

Texas Democratic Party Chairman Boyd Richie described the scene at the conventions as "democracy at its finest." Visiting conventions in Dallas and Tarrant counties with his wife, Betty, he said he was floored by the amount of engagement – particularly newcomers.

"Ninety percent of our convention had first-time delegates. We are developing a farm system I've never seen anything like it," he said. If voters are this determined to be involved, he said, "November looks really good for us."
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Don't worry.

If Hillary gets the nomination, she'll fire Dean, scrap the 50 state strategy, and the Dems will go back to ignoring Texas.
  • GrantinHouston · 1 year ago
Watch for the Republican National Convention to be a giant Reagan WORSHIP affair with a huge mixed media presentation, angelic choirs, with much prostrating and genuflecting. After all, the RNC must get the sheeple's minds off of Bush.

Zbigniew Brzezinski writes a piece for the Washington Post on how either Clinton or Obama should get us out of the Bush folly in Iraq:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/ar...

He says " if the American people had been asked more than five years ago whether Bush's obsession with the removal of Saddam Hussein was worth 4,000 American lives, almost 30,000 wounded Americans and several trillion dollars -- not to mention the less precisely measurable damage to the United States' world-wide credibility, legitimacy and moral standing -- the answer almost certainly would have been an unequivocal 'no.' "
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yeah, they're always pumping the "Reagan" shit.

    Not worried about it, though.

For starters, that's looking to the past and not the future. For a second thing, that was a hell of a long time ago.

In any case, let them show clips from Reagan's most popular speeches, then watch McCain mumble his way through his acceptance speech.

Talk about setting a guy up for failure.
  • GrantinHouston · 1 year ago
Chris. The Nevada caucus did count as it looked like Hillary won. However, since the Clark County caucuses ran overtime, they recessed to resume again on April 12th so Obama may win Nevada after all.

Condi says she did not realize that Iraq would be tough.

Aw, poor thing. Despite her so called experience and confidence, Condi was naive and intellectually challenged, when she supported and abetted Bush attack a nation was not a threat to us. She sold the Bush/Cheney pack of lies to this nation, and is just as guilty as her dear boss, for the deaths of a million innocent people She should be held accountable for the war crimes, just like her President should be. Oh that Condi and her mushroom clouds!!

Historian Michael Parenti calls George W. Bush, “the biggest thug” ever to occupy the White House, however adding that most post-World War II U.S. presidents have also acted like “thugs.”

His “thug” list includes Presidents John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. Conspicuously absent from his list are Republican Dwight Eisenhower and Democrat Jimmy Carter.

Sage24. Condi is back in Jerusalem to bring peace to the Jews and Arabs (I guess Hillary is too busy running for president!). Her peace mission started a few months ago has been sidetracked by violence that has left 120 Palestinians and 3 Israelis, DEAD.

Condi wants to "improve security on the West Bank for Israelis" (Israelis are the occupiers and doing their ethnic cleansing thing!). Rice also wants to ease roadblocks that now hampers the movement of Palestinians.

And looking like his mommy dressed him in a homemade baseball jacket, just like the big boys...with his special little "W" embroidered on his arm.

That and his pathetic little "good ol' boy" backslapping bull. Bush, like many in power, have this inner ear problem, where anything negative about them gets filtered into positive.
Boo him, he hears "yeah Bush!" and wonders who the loser on the field is they are booing.

did the coach catch the bogus first pitch instead of the real catcher? i read w wouldn't throw to LoDuca because he was named in the Mitchell report. like w really gives a shit about drug use.
