AMERICAblog: Cheney Campaigns for McCain

  • Buford · 1 year ago
"He is a man who is looked in the face of evil and not flinched..." Um, didn't McCain confess to being an 'air pirate' and a 'black criminal' and denounce US actions while he was a POW...? Then he confessed to being a 'war criminal' in 1997 for what he did in Viet Nam (http://www.tucsonweekly.com/gbase/Currents/Cont...).

Hardly the image that Cheney is trying to promote.

How do you tell if Cheney is lying?

    He is still breathing.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
I thought Cheney is the face of evil...

And BTW, I've managed a household for almost 50 years...that means I have a hell of a lot more "executive talent" than Palin claims. And millions of others have the same "executive talent" as well.

    Cheeeesh...
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
"managed a household'----I have often wished I could put that at the top of my resume, because most of what I learned in my life that is valuable in the workplace came from that job description---in all of its many and varied roles!

Making propaganda videos for the Viet Cong after two days of captivity = looked into the eyes of the enemy and didn't flinch to Chickenhawk Dick Cheney.
  • Rev_Sacrilege · 1 year ago
Cheney's probably the one who sold the "Obama's aunt" story to the media. The Republican Party has proven in six years, and three presidential campaigns, that it has no authoritative basis to stand on the issues.

How many years, and dollars ago, was the mission accomplished?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Mission will be accomplished this Tuesday evening...

And the again on Jan 20, 2009...

~January 20th... The end of an "error" ~ The Bush era is finally over. Thank heaven!
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
He sounds healthy. Coughing up a lung there.
  • Kcunac · 1 year ago
I wonder if any of this has penetrated Bush's reality and he's sitting around the family quarters thinking a reverse Sally Field: they don't like me... the really don't like me.
  • Btalk314 · 1 year ago
Hiding the president is an act of cowardice. This is the true face of the GOP.
  • songbird5391 · 1 year ago
I agree... but cowardice is only one of the faces of the GOP... They should change there name from Grand Old Party to Grossly Obsene Propaganda machine

Cheney is even more hated then Bush.

And Obama nails it.. does anyone really think McCain would bring change to washington? If he wanted to change Washington so bad, why didnt he do it as a Senator? Why didnt he stand up to bush and say NO to some of these horrible war crimes and evil deeds instead of endorsing them??
  • okojo · 1 year ago
Uh, Laramie?!? Why doesn't Cheney campaign in Provo, if he wants to be redundant?!?!

He is better off campaigning in Bozeman, Bismark, Fargo, etc. or at least head down to Fort Collins to a state that matters.

When Bush picked Cheney during the 2000 campaign, a little red flag went off in my head. Wasn't there some unfinished shit from Watergate with this asshole? Yup. There sure was. Cheney must have a J Edgar Hoover styled file on nearly anyone in power in that town. How the fuck has he survived since 1974 like this? I wish his heart would just explode and he'd be gone.
  • Ivee · 1 year ago
What Cheney probably means is that John McCain is "the right (wing) leader for this time in history." In that he would be accurate.

Would anyone welcome an endorsement from Darth Vader?

This one might not have made McCain's day. :)

I jreceived an e-mail from this morning from MoveOn and it scared the crap out of me. They said Obama has fallen three points in the national polls. Is this true? If not, shame on MoveOn!!!!! I hope it is dead wrong. I have not seen this on any of the blogs...anyone know what this is about?
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Great website to go to to calm your fears: www.fivethirtyeight.com Click on any link and they have a breakdown of the polls...sludge had one up last night (and I assume all day today though I refuse to click on it) that showed 'shocking results and McCain in the lead, blah blah blah. 538 told me everything I need to know to disregard that poll...

How appropriate: Laramie, where Matthew Wayne Shepard was fatally beaten. Isn't it enough that Cheney and Matt have the same hometown of Casper? Somewhere the irony must be overwhelming.
  • songbird5391 · 1 year ago
    I agree...
  • lynn47 · 1 year ago
Cheney campaigns for McFear on Halloween no less. You gotta like it...I am guessing there were no pictures of Cheney taken in daylight.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Oh my. Not the endorsement McCain really needs right now. Once again, Obama's response is brilliant. Right back in his face, perfectly executed. Well done Barack.
  • songbird5391 · 1 year ago
A Dick Cheney endorsement? I don't know, but I think McCain should stick to letting Joe the plumber stump for him.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i hate to be the one to break the news to bushco, but dragging Cheney out for an endorsement sort of defeats the purpose in keeping W. hidden, doesn't it?

because everyone just LOVES dick "the Dick" cheney...pfft.
    what a bunch o' clowns.

"He is a man who is looked in the face of evil and not flinched...

The rest of that quote was, "...he's always able to look me in the eye all through our meetings! He's never once had to make the Sign of the Cross or run off to throw up, like those wimpy Cabinet members..."
  • Milli · 1 year ago
I'm sure Dick's 5% approval rating helped McCain immensely.
