AMERICAblog: Clinton attack dogs Lanny Davis and Bob Johnson are leading the V.P. campaign for Hillary

Drudge is reporting that "the bitch" is finally conceding on Friday. YIIIPPEEEE! Hopefully the Hillbots will finally shut up with their whining and crying. The witch finally surrenders!

Because that actions of her "big" surrogates, Hillary does not deserve the VP nomination.
  • UnionWage · 1 year ago
Let's face it, there's no chance in hell that Obama will choose Billary as VP. It would be the worst possible thing for him to do. Right now both Democrats *AND* Republicans despise the Clintons and their legacy of scandal, corruption, and immorality. It's time to turn the page and leave the c*nt behind.

Usually not at all fond of the C-word, but in this case, I have to agree with you.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
I disagree. That word has no place on these threads and I, for one, am pleased that John forbids it.
  • HelenaMontana · 1 year ago
Because of her choice of Davis & Johnson to promote the veep idea, Hillary has proven yet again that she has the worst political judgment in the Milky Way. Those folks are teh stoopid, big time.
  • zavlin · 1 year ago
About this "petition" thing, is it online? i have a feeling that the "tell hillary what you think" part of her website is actualy signing people onto this "petition" without paying much attention to the "message(optional)" part of the form.

    SSSSCCCRRREEEEECH!
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
    Some breaking news:

    1) It was some of the loudest hardline Clinton spokespeople (sounds like Ickes and McAuliffe) who arranged for her Senate supporters to bluntly tell her this afternoon to get out now

    2) Jonathan Alter on Hardball said Lanny Davis thought petitions for this were a terrible idea

    3) The Obama campaign has already said if she is vetted, Bill's donors list needs to be made public, and Bill has said absolutely no, so the idea is a non-starter.

None of this is definitive, but it is what is being reported.

I've supported Obama for President ever since he gave his amazing speech at the Democratic convention in 2004. And I hate to say it, but he would lose my support if he were to appoint Shillary as VP. We absolutely cannot afford to involve the slimy Clintons in any part of the Democratic Party from this day forward. They are simply too dirty.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
So, if Barack Obama has done such a masterful job on his campaign(he has)
If he is so skilled a politician (he is)
If his staff is so amazing(apparently they are)
if he has clinched the nomination(he has)

WHY DO YOU NOT TRUST HIM TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THE USA?
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
Why is Hillary still collecting contributions for her campaign of she knows that she will be dropping out on Friday.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
maybe it is because she owes a lot of money, which could be part of her reason for not dropping out immediately.

newbies just do not understand politics.
  • RockyPhilly · 1 year ago
Hello? If she owes money, shouldn't she pay it off like anyone else? If one of us has a large credit card bill, we pay it off little by little. But of course the rich, elite slime like the Clintons think they are above paying off bills. This is a perfect example of why they are universally despised by middle class and working people.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
No she carried the middle class.
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
newbies just do not understand politics.

Are you referring to me or to her supporters.

I know that she is in serious debt but her website is still asking supporters to stand by her and to contribute to her campaign. So, basically she is taking money away from her hardworking supporters and her debt will get paid off without taking $25 donations.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
I received emails from Richardson for weeks after he OFFICIALLY withdrew. All asking for money. He ended up with a surplus. He donated it to Dems in NM
  • JamesR · 1 year ago
    - But taking more kids' bikes makes her campaign more green!
  • lovepeaceandallthat · 1 year ago
Perhaps the rumor that she wants the VP slot is a *manufactured* one designed to offer a reason as to why she is not conceding. She needs a cover for her real intentions (which I think are primarily related to harming Obama, plus she needs to raise money).

Yet, SHE won't say she wants to be VP herself because that would give the impression that she believes Obama won the chance to be president fair and square.

I don't believe for a minute she wants to be VP, and I also don't think Obama is even really contemplating her seriously, as nice as he is. Michelle would have none of it, I believe.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
so are we electing Obama president or his wife?
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Michelle is one sharp cookie and she has his best interests at heart. Why wouldn't she have input with him?
  • RockyPhilly · 1 year ago
Agreed. The campaign between Obama and Billary was one of dirtiest and most vicious in history. Hillary's racist attack ads were extremely offensive to the African-American community. There is NO possible way that Obama would give Hillary any possible role in his Administration. He knows that all she or Bill offer is pure poison. They are radioactive.
  • sittenpretty · 1 year ago
he is so very ,very smart...MATURE...cool calm and collected ,i love him to pieces
  • AdrianMott · 1 year ago
People need to calm down. Obama would NEVER select a slime-bag like Clinton for VP. He's got everything under control and we can rest assured that Bill and Hlllary Clinton will be told in no uncertain terms to "get the f*** out of the way". Their legacy of dirty politics is over once and for all.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
I think that "calming down" would mean backing off on the nasty comments.
But I guess you Obamites do not really trust Obama to do what is best.

  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
If you all think dirty politics are over "once and for all". You obviously have not seen the Republican primary tv ads attacking each other. If H or O had been half as bad, you people would be huddled in a corner rocking and crying. Hang on the republipukes are fixing to give you a lesson in the true meaning of dirty politics, nasty has not yet been defined!
  • LaramieTribute · 1 year ago
Sorry, but they've already shot their wad as far as Obama. The GOP had a lot more dirt on Hillary and that's why they were literally begging for her to be the nominee. They are scared as hell of Obama and tried as hard as they could to defeat him in the primary. Believe me, they don't have anything on him. Why do you think over the last 8 months they have been attacking him on every GOP website 24/7 while almost endorsing Billary?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
She has as much chance of being the VP as I have of becoming Mrs. Neil Patrick Harris.
  • Dems4life · 1 year ago
I recommend everyone email Howard Dean and the DNC as I did and tell them that Hillary better not play any part in Obama's Administration. If we are going to clean up politics, we need to be serious about it.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
It is Obama's choice. Period. Only he has a say in his choice of administration. Howard is hust a sad clown that screwed up.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
HuffPo has a headline that the Obama camp says a Clinton VP would be "highly unlikely". The reason given is that Bill Clinton would balk at releasing the particulars of his business deals and the list of donors to his library. So, I guess they can make the vetting process so stringent that the Clintons are eliminated. It's a good sign that Caroline Kennedy is on the search committee because I don't think there's any lost love between the Kennedys and the Clintons.
  • Wanda42 · 1 year ago
Word on the Hill is that the Kennedy's are outraged at the Clintons ever since Hillary made her threat against Obama by mentioning JFK. I don't think there is going to be any kind of reconciliation between them for a long time. What Billary said was so outrageous and despicable, that the Kennedy's won't stand for that bs. To suggest violence against her opponent as Hillary did, crossed every boundary of propriety. Her political career is over.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Hillary threatened Obama by mentioning RFK.

Though she could have threatened Obama by mentioning JFK too, and I just haven't heard about it.

Hell, she probably threatened him using MLK's name as well.
  • JamesR · 1 year ago
Hillary Clinton is a master of Word-Parse and snide offhand comment you KNOW she means but tries to coyly deny later. "As far as I know."

She was obviously trying to conflate herself with the name Kennedy, she had done it before, it was a "talking point." (I loathe that word.) She was trying to get the names together into duller heads, hers with theirs, and went for a bullshit historical analogy and for some reason the Gods of Irony struck and turned her conflation and confabulation into a deeper and darker truth. ANd it looked like a Freudian Slip. THAT'S WHY TALK OF ASSASSINATION IS TABOO! It ALWAYS will impugn the character of the one who invokes it, providing they have one.

But what I think is the worst is that she chose to ignore the traditional ban on talking about that sort of thing, ignoring it for her own aggrandizement at the same time trying to associate herself with the very family involved and that family's power and reputation. That might go over others' heads but if I were a Kennedy, (I am not,) that would frost me 'till the end of Time and then some.

It's not the "threat" but the grasping calculated selfish name dropping IN CONTEXT. Followed of course by no real acknowledgment nor apology, then denial.

This talk of Hillary becoming the VP makes me chuckle. There is not a chance in hell of her becoming VP for Obama. It would be completely out of character for him to pick someone who would be such an incredible liability.

  • KeishaWilliams · 1 year ago
Bill and Hillary Clinton owe a big apology to the American people for the disgusting way in which they campaigned. It is stunning to think that they would attack a fellow Democrat with such blatantly racist tactics. The African-American community will have nothing to do with them any more. There is no way to heal the wounds when a corrupt politician like Hillary outright lies about her opponent and resorts to stirring up racist rhetoric. Hillbots need to face it - she blew it and the Clinton legacy is now one of utter failure and embarrassment. It will be a long time before another woman even has a chance to run for the highest office since Billary poisoned the well.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Very well put KeishaWilliams! But I don't think any of us should hold our breath for the "big apology.." The Clintons and their hangers-on seem to have adapted the Bush/McSame republicon approach to the truth; i.e. it is what you want it to be and if you keep repeating it, it will really become so, at least for the kool-aid drinkers. I really hope it will not be too long until a woman will be able to succeed as presidential timber. I have said multiple times in here: people were not against Hil because she is a woman, but rather the kind of woman she has proved to be. Her great failing has been her as a person, not her gender.
  • HockeyFan · 1 year ago
In retrospect, we can now see that the Clinton years of the 90's were a virtual nighmare of one scandal after another. Both Clintons are simply too selfish and degenerate to serve the public in any productive capacity. Thank God their careers are over and they can retire into obscurity. Obama is our best chance to re-establish the reputation of the Democratic Party as one of decency and caring. The best thing for the Clintons to do is stay the hell away.

It is very brave of Sen. Clinton not to give up so easily, even after last primaries are well over. Bravo! Here are some facts to urge voters and lobbyists

    • Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. More people voted for her than any candidate in American history.
    • She won states that represent 308 electoral votes. Obama’s wins yield only 224. It takes 270 to become president.
    • She won all of the big states and swing states Democrats must win in November.
    • She polls ahead of Obama against McCain in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, and Michigan, states critical to a Democratic victory this fall.

Please lobby super delegates for Clinton

It's going to be easier to educate Obama than it would be to re-educate Clinton. IMHO Obama is honest. What a great way to start the day! I won't embarrass the lady on this blog who first brought that up. But, thank you, dear; you have been right all along.....

Slick Willie can make 3 appearances and wipe out the debt. Bill needs desperately to have an "in" with the next administration.
I know you people don't like me; but don't you have the common sense to understand that hundreds of millions are at stake and that Bill and Hillary have to have some "hand" on the wheel of power?
  • RockyPhilly · 1 year ago
Are you nuts? That is exactly what Obama is trying to steer clear of: special interests and dirty fundraising. Bill and Shill can continue to trade votes for dollars and practice their corrupt form of politics. But Obama shouldn't have anything to do with their corruption if he want real reform

The Hillary speech is delayed until Saturday...and she will concede.

    http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?i...
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
    Not so fast, mirth.
She's "suspending" and still wants her delegates to vote for her at the convention. Of course they hasten to add that it's NOT for a floor fight or anything like that , but rather to symbolize what she accomplished.
We know that whenever anyone says 'it's NOT such and such', it most always IS 'such and such'.

I'm with Rachel Maddow on this one. I'm not convinced.
What do they call that? A head fake? That's what hillary is pulling.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    Hi ezpz.

The ABC article that I linked says "concede." Since I wrote that comment I've read other news that say "suspend." CNN (I think it was, maybe not) reports she will suspend and reserves the right to have her votes from the convention floor; Drudge says "concede." There are even conflicting reports about whether or not her announcement will be Friday or Saturday as ABC says, some news sites saying the Saturday event is for her campaign workers and for "party unity."

Whatever the truth, she do all in her power to have the spotlight until the very last moment.
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
    Hi Mirth,
Andrea Mitchell, who covers the Clinton camp, was reporting to Dan Abrams via phone and said that about Hillary wanting her delegates to vote for her at the convention....

I DON'T trust the Clintons, and I was a staunch supporter and defender of both of them (mostly Bill) ---UNTIL this campaign. Now I can't help but wonder if they really did remove furniture from the White House.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
But this time her fellow Dems are on her case to get out. Olberman and Fineman reported that Clinton's own high level team members called Congresmen to tell her to get out. There was a conference call with 8 Senators (her staunch supporters) telling her it was over and to get out graciously. Plus I think they said another 23 members of Congress telling they needed to move and wanted her approval.

It is evident from all this (I am sure most is true) that Clinton had no intention of getting out, she was going to convention. I think with all the pressure she is out for good.
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
I don't doubt that she was pressured by her own supporters.
I just don't trust them (Clintons) at all.
I agree that she had all intentions of taking this to Denver....and I still believe that. I just think she toned it down for now, and is quietly waiting for the "why'd he" tape to emerge.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
    That's my best guess, aquarius2.

The phone calls today have forced her out, probably all the way out.

But who would be surprised by anything she may do?
  • mirth · 1 year ago
I, too, was once a Clinton(s) supporter and defender.

So much has been revealed during this campaign. The Clinton good name is gone now, forever I hope, as well it should be. Soon they will begin their rehabilitation attempts, but I will never forget or forgive what I have learned about this duo. In the coming years I will do what I can to help rid the Senate of her. Neither should ever again be in our government.
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
Delayed? And I wonder what'll keep her from doing it Saturday? Maybe she'll have to stay home and wait for the cable guy?

Jeeeez, Hillary is starting to get irritating.
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
    "Starting"??
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I heard Olberman say that Clinton wanted it on Saturday so more people could attend BUT she still was going to give a concession statement on Friday. Of course, we are talking about Clinton so anything could change.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
Yeah, we know her idea of "change."

So now with both the Friday and Saturday events, she gets at least 2 more times in the spotlight.
