AMERICAblog: Clinton bashes Obama, again

Nothing different.....except, maybe, the Clinton's heads are so far up their own asses that they have "ring around the collar", but, I think they may have had that a while back.

There are no words left in my vocabulary to express what I feel for these people anymore. These are the worst of the worst. Somehow I hope Obama lashes out at her after she loses the next two primaries. But I know it won't happen. He should never lower himself to the gutter where the Clintons have moved to.

    I can't believe that bitch!

    Dear Hillary McCainproxy,
Some people don't have the rights to get married like you. Some people actually need their Social Security unlike you. Some people aren't 60 and might need to have an abortion. Some people might get deployed to Iran unlike Chelsea. Stop attacking Barack and call off the Taylor Marsh/ Talk Left/ No Quarter dogs from their constant attacks on Obama and his family
  • CitizenTwenty · 1 year ago
Don't forget John, the two upcoming primaries are in tiny, unmanly States that no one really cares about and don't count for anything...
    Whereas Puerto Rico...
Everyone knows that Puerto Rico is one of the most pivotal, umm...Kinda Statey-like places and as the famous saying I've heard quoted countless times in the course of my life says "As goes Puerto Rico, so goes the entire United States of America."
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Just out of curiosity I looked up which Democratic contests had been caucuses, and excluding Texas which was a hybrid, I came up with: Iowa, Nevada, Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, American Samoa, Nebraska, Washington (state), and Maine. These are the states Clinton does not include in the popular vote, yet she counts Michigan where Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot? The NYT seems to go along with her view.
  • catty · 1 year ago
John do what every one else does when it comes to the Clintons, consider the source.

Also you don't think the new priest rant about Obama's OLD church was an accident do you...it has Clinton written all over it. they never have been above board this whole campaign, just slime~
  • puffmeister · 1 year ago

But, BUT! when she's got all those Puerto Ricans (who WILL get the vote in November, thanks to Hillary); the reptilian James Carville; formerly beloved President Bill Clinton; hundreds, if not thousands of crazed Harriet Christians and Women Count PAC members; the repellent Harold Ickes; the hysterical Stephanie Tubbs-Jones; AND that meshuggenah fixer Lanny Davis all, ALL in her corner, how can she possibly lose?!

Does this insure that her chances for the VP suck even more. Please, please, please let this be so. The pundits have all been resurrecting the specter of the Unity Ticket today. I thought we had put that particular nightmare scenario to bed.

Can you even imagine this woman and her husband sharing power with Obama for four years? They'd never stop competing with him, calling his decisions into question, or undermining his authority.

She even managed to get in a not so subtle swipe at Obama by referring to her "solutions not speeches" slogan.

And the pundits say she changed her tone of late?
    I don't know what they're listening to.
She's not going anywhere except to Denver.
And the 'supers' will be more to blame than she will.
    Shame on them!

And while Clinton was blubbering on, Obama, at a campaign stop in SD, countered with dignity and class:

"First of all, Senator Clinton is an outstanding public servant, she has worked tirelessly during this campaign ... and she is going to be a great asset when we go into November," he told his audience. "Whatever differences Senator Clinton and I may have, those differences pale in comparison to the other side."
  • proseandcon · 1 year ago
16% of 2.4 millions registered voters in a territory that doesn't vote in the general election is hardly a mandate when you and your family campaigned hard atop all that name recognition. Bill Clinton's less-than-presidential overreaction to the Vanity Fair article will be getting traction this week. An ignominious end.
  • gustavmahler · 1 year ago

How in heaven's name does she have the audacity to say that Obama has a "slight" lead in pledged delegates? When the contest ends, the person with the lead wins. The end. I sincerely hope that the superdelegates do the right thing on Wednesday. I could really use a week or so before the convention without her and her supporters.
  • gustavmahler · 1 year ago
I hope this is not about this supposed tape where Michelle Obama said 'whitey', anyone know if this is true?
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
Gosh, I highly dislike that woman. LOL

The only thing I fear at this point is that there will be some major pressure on Obama to put her on the ticket with him. It would be incredibly deflating to so many of us if he did that.

All the news networks are going to keep talking about it from here on out and asking panelist after panelist, "Does Obama have to ask Hillary?".

Until Obama chooses a VP, it will be the #1 topic of political discussion and it will only cause Clinton supporters to get their hopes up about it when, in fact, she has almost no chance of being on the ticket. Of course, when he chooses someone else, they will damn him once again.

It's a shame that the wicked witch has so many folks under her spell.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I used to worry about that. I don't think it's a problem now.

Nobody in the party thinks those two can work together anymore.

Nobody will push it, except for some clueless talking heads, and they won't have any influence on this.
  • Robster · 1 year ago
gustavmahler -- The alleged "Whitey" video may be Michelle Obama saying "Why'd he" while railing against President Bush and nothing more.

not include you in Baracks popular vote. They just have no shame.
And to think people are actually supporting her for president.
How in the world can anyone trust them?
  • anotherdumguy · 1 year ago
What really amazes me is what a classy, psitive campaign Obama has run. We have not heard one word, either from the candidate or his surrrogates, of any of the Hillary scandals. Nothing at all about Rose law firm billing records ending up in the residential quarters of the White Hose. Nothing about travelgate, filegate, cleaning out Vince Foster's office, etc.

Why the F does the media continue to spin things like she has any legitimate chance at all?
  • Winston Smith · 1 year ago
Lauren1959 "Makes no sense to me either."

It makes a lot of sense. You just have to put the pieces together.

If Obama is elected, he will probably be in office for 8 years. In 2016 Hillary will be 68 years old, a little too old to campaign and then serve as president for 8 years (until age 76.)

Plus, Obama is unlikely to choose a 60 year old running mate, he will choose someone younger who will, in 8 years, be a logical choice for the Democratic candidate. Someone probably in their 40s or 50s now.

But in four years Hillary will be only 66, still a suitable age to run and be serve as president. And the thing Hillary wants more than anything in the world is to be president of the US. She believes she is entitled to be president, and Obama is the upstart youngster who is robbing her of her entitlement.

It has been clear since March that Obama will be the Democratic nominee this election. Since Adlai Stevenson in 1956 the Dems have never run a losing candidate a second time, so if Obama loses he will likely not run again.

So Hillary's only chance to become president is for Obama to lose this election; if he does Hillary will claim the Democratic front runner position for 2012. She appears to be willing to sabotage Obama's campaign and to subject the country to another disastrous Republican president if it means she will get another chance at the office.

To hell with Obama, to hell with the Democratic party, to hell with the people of the United States, to hell with anyone or anything that stands in the way of Hillary's ambition.

    Make sense now?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Bill and Hillary are no longer trying to win this time around. They are simply trying to hurt Obama's chances in the fall in the hope she will get another go around in 2012. I got news for the Clintons. We are all watching them in the Democratic Party and this was her make it or break it chance. There were so many of us in the Democratic Party who knew Hillary's vote for the war was wrong, and loudly objected. She played politics and lost. Many forgave her for that vote, but then could not bring themselves to support her after the whole Bosnia sniper fire fiasco. That lie was so unnecessary, and just playing politics again. Democrats are ready for REAL CHANGE. We are ready for Barack Obama.

  • SoLeftImRight · 1 year ago
I truly have nothing but contempt for Hillary Clinton at this point. Her credibility is shot, her actions are irrational and foolish, and by continuing her dead campaign, she is assisting the Republican effort in untold ways when it should have no chance in hell. If anything leads to another Republican administration, the blame will be entirely in the Clinton corner. I will hold this grudge through to Chelsea if she ever runs for office. Enough of the Bushes, enough of the Clintons. Your time has now passed, get off the stage.
  • dula · 1 year ago
It was enough to have to humor Republicans for years while they lied about facts, twisted our words, projected their wrongdoing on us by accusing us of doing exactly what they did, fanned the flames of wedge issues, misspoke, and misrepresented BUT now we have to humor half the Democratic Party with the same nonsense...unbearable.
  • LeslieB · 1 year ago
Clinton has often said she'd continue campaigning until there was a nominee. She said she'd do this, and she's doing it. The reality is, however, that her campaign has become irrelevant. In a few days, we'll have chosen our nominee—Obama. We need to unite behind him as a party.
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
Clinton and Obama are no longer competing for the nomination so exactly why is she still bashing him?

Clinton will not win anything in 2012, she is finished as far as running for President. Hillary Clinton wants Obama to lose in the General Election, It is just that simple for the Clinton's.
  • scytherius · 1 year ago
My first choices for the nominee didn’t make it. And at one point I supported Hillary. But I never thought that the Clintons and a handful their supporters would make me no longer care about America . . . but they have. I always thought the Republicans might get me to that point. I was wrong.

Here we have a handful of selfish, preening children (including the Clintons) who are more worried about power than the daily slaughter of our kids, and Iraqian kids, in Iraq. This country teeters on the brink of hell and these people start screaming about supporting McCain a/k/a Bush 2.0.

I no longer have faith in the kindness, intelligence or morality of the American people thanks to the Clintons. Like the cowardly Pelosi might say . . . my care for this country is off the table. Enjoy Hell America cause you sure as shit deserve it. 60 years of worrying about this nation turns out to have been 60 years utterly wasted. Vote your petulance . . . I don't give a good goddamn.
  • lov446 · 1 year ago
This is why, I could never vote for her if she was the nominee. I would not vote at all!! This is also why, we can't let her become the nominee, and I hope the S.D. are at least as smart as I am, and this also includes the party top dogs, like Pelosi, and Reid to mention only 2!! What a horrible president she would be, maybe even worse than Bush. Remember, Clinton is a proven lier, how could we ever trust a PROVEN lier as our leader???

Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon.
The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive – and most likely to be decided by superdelegates – as CNN points out clearly

    http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/20/prim...

If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama

If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com

    Obama Supporters:

Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy...

    Clinton Supporters too …. !

It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth !

Sending a note to current Clinton supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Obama supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Clinton, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Clinton. It's that easy...

$$$Rather than uniting the party, the Clintons are doing everything they can to fan the flames and tear us all apart.$$$

    John,

your commentary in regards to Hillary and her supporters over the last few months has been "uniting the party "? I won't even bother doing a cursory search for all the adjectives you have included in your commentaries ( to Hillary), we all are aware of them.

Can you tell me how Obama will make it to Pennsylvania Ave. without Hillary's supporters. Crunch the numbers and post them now, we can revisit in November to compare notes.

BTW, I can't stand MCCain but I will be viral emailing Hillary supporters asking them to vote for McCain or stay home November.
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
So an let me get this straight you would prefer and ongoing was where thousands of troops will die, you would prefer that Americans go un-insured, you would prefer McCain to appoint one to two judges to the Supreme Court because Hillary Clinton lost the Dem nomination. You would rather let your house get burned down with your family inside because you disliked the fire department that came to put out the fire,

We have seen a lot of desperate Democrats suddenly scrambling to “unify” with Clinton’s supporters, now that they realize that their snowjob of an election has caused turmoil and will lead to an Obama boycott in November. The classic response to our anger says that we need to relax, take a deep breath, not let emotions cloud judgment, and to think about Roe, your uterus, Third World uteruses, Iraq, thousands of dying soldiers, the economy, Bush III, and many other desperate pro-Obama talking points designed to crush the boycott and instill fear. Well, here’s my answer (disclaimer: I do not have a uterus).First of all, I do not need to clear my head and take a deep breath. I did not start voting yesterday, unlike many of Obama’s supporters. Instead, I am a lifetime Democrat, and I have been voting for Democrats locally, state-wide, and nationally since the mid-80s. I am very experienced having my candidate lose, but then moving on to support the party ticket. In past primaries, for example, I voted for Dean, Bradley, and Jesse Jackson (twice!). I get the idea of party unity, so stop treating me like a kid.

Second, my vote in November goes beyond the liberal “issues” you describe: it protests liberal hypocrisy. The party espouses an equality rhetoric but has been completely dishonest and contradictory during this election. The party has bashed poor white people and people whose last names are Clinton. The party has has ignored Latino voters because recognizing them challenges the “only racists vote for Clinton script.” The party has invented claims of racial injustice to demonize the Clintons. The party has ridiculed “uneducated” voters, even though Democrats supposedly represent disadvantaged people. Male party members and liberal media have constantly called for Clinton to drop out — starting after Iowa — in order to place an aura of doubt around her campaign. The party has ignored voters in Florida and Michigan in order to legitimize Howard Dean’s bad judgment. The party has completely ignored or even denied the sexist treatment of Clinton, while responding with absolute venom to any real or imagined “racism” directed towards Obama. The party has allowed Obama to wear multiple racial hats — the nonracial black man, the just black enough to be an historic black president, and the black racial victim –- to secure votes. If Clinton deviates even slightly from a prior script, she is portrayed as a horrible witch who would do “anything to get elected.” I refuse to join this madness.

In April, Obama pranced around and described Clinton as “Annie Oakley” gunning her way through Pennsylvania for votes. But when he came out looking like Steve Urkel bowling and drinking Yuengling for votes in the same state, the media and party ate it up — another “precious” Obama moment. Recently, CNN.COM posted footage of some mesmerized journalist covering Obama’s jeans. Why should I have to endorse this mayhem?

Third, I am unmoved by the progressive issues that the pro-Obama side uses to scare us into voting for him. But you got to love “the horror”: If you vote for McCain or don’t vote for Obama, the Supreme Court will overrule Roe, thousands of men and women will die in Iraq, poor people will remain poor, the environment will decline, we will not achieve peace on earth and domestic tranquility, and you will deprive “our children” from having a “great country.” I feel a tear coming!

These are just Karl Rovian “red alerts.” Obama is not entitled to our votes. He did not earn my loyalty. Whatever loyalty the party had from me prior to this election has been depleted. Earlier on when we wanted to discuss progressive issues, the Obama camp and the media silenced our efforts and instead focused on the big rock star pep rallies, Obamania, Camelot, weeping college students, and a host of other unimportant concerns. People could not tell us specifically why they supported him, but they knew that he was the best and that he would bring “change.” They told us that we and Clinton were cold and unhopeful and that emotions and inspiration were more important. Clinton was a mere “policy wonk,” while Obama made people “feel good again.” Well, enjoy your Hallmark moments and stop being two-faced. Suddenly, you want to talk about the issues because it benefits Obama. Earth to my fellow Democrats: Obama’s success does not dictate the way I vote.

I am still focused on issues, but topics beyond your “red scare” alerts are important to me as well. My vote responds to a party of hypocrites who dismiss loyal Democrats, bash older folks and women, and manipulate race - while calling it “progressive.” My protest is about not wanting to be a part of a vote that legitimizes sexism. I do not wish to condone the younger Democrats’ misunderstanding of the Republican witch hunts that hurt all Democrats in the past — what they call “Clinton scandals,” when every honst person recalls them as Ken Starr scandals! Where was the “education” on this issue by party veterans? The DNC rushes to bash McCain for his 100 years comment, which reputable entities like Factcheck.org say was not even true, but Clinton is misportrayed abundantly and all we get is silence. Party leadership and the media sharply denounce anything that could negatively impact Obama. They describe legitimate and fair criticism of him as racist, mean-spirited, evil, or “Clinton politics.” Clearly the party leadership has determined that anytime he looks weak, the “boys” will endorse him or call for Clinton to leave because she is “hurting the party” and “kneecapping” the “first viable black presidential candidate” - as if Clinton alone should bear responsibility for remedying the country’s history of racism which has kept people of color out of high office. Well, party leadership and media, you made these rules; suffer the consequences. To paraphrase Obama, don’t tell me my disgust with your behavior doesn’t matter. Don’t tell me sexism doesn’t matter. Don’t tell me liberal hypocrisy doesn’t matter. Don’t tell me fake racial politics doesn’t matter. Don’t tell me I must vote for Obama in order to be a “real” Democrat. If being a real Democrat means bashing women, the poor, and the elderly, manipulating race, ignoring Latinos, and stifling dissent, then I respectfully resign my membership! Achieving justice requires sacrifice, brutal honesty, and passionate commitment. I will not “endorse anything to get a Democrat elected,” and neither should you.

$$$ I'm not even going to link to the story, because candidates who have already lost the election don't get the privilege of having us promote their slime. $$$

Interesting..... but you will link to most any story you think is negative to Hillary. I have held my tongue while reading the constant day after day negative and hate filled commentary from you (John) and some other inflexible die hards.

It saddens me that some have such a black heart, I'm sure it can't be good to carry that weight, that in fact may have started to fester some time ago when Bill Clinton refused you more access? Irregardless, it is what it is.

A few days ago I had wished for Hillary to do her best (when she exits the race) to help unite the party behind Obama.

After I have seen even more hate filled commentary , while Hillary is obviously on the way out , I had thought to myself that a scorched earth policy might be the best thing.

I can only hope now that the party tears itself apart and those who take more glee in posting hate filled commentary on a daily basis get their just rewards. They can make their own party , you know, make their own bed and sleep in it, WITH OUT HILLARY supporters.

Maybe having that "SLIME" McCain in power might teach some what UNITY really means, a hard lesson to learn but I think that's what needs to happen.
