AMERICAblog: Clinton campaign finished February in the red

  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Just the question I was going to ask. Sounds as though Obama does much better with a budget, IMHO.

(State Dept. says it will investigatate whether or not Clinton or McCrazy's passports were hit...but from what I've heard, unauthorized hits go directly to a supervisor. Something fishy here...let's have a full investigation of those 3 operatives working in the State Dept., where it seems to be rather easy for contractors to get hired.)

Well, I tried this Disqus on my Pocket PC and it doesn't work, so no more pocket blogging. That sucks. Mobile phones are the new way people are surfing.

So, when's McCrook going to prison for violating the campaign finance law??
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Pocket Blogging? That sounds like a euphemism for something nasty.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yeah, I'm still getting used to the new setup.

You have to continually scan up and down the thread, versus just staying at the bottom and watching the comments come in.

It's like switching to 3-Demensional chess from 1-D chess or something.

It is hard to imagine the huge amount of money that is spent (wasted) on these campaigns. It is rapidly getting out of control. There really needs to be a limit set on time and money spent on campaigns. Imagine you were one of the thousands of people who have lost their jobs and see that a candidate has a multiple-million budget to try to win the nomination for PTOUS with no guarantee of winning. Mind boggling! What a waste of time and money. With the country so far in debt this money could certainly be better spent. For a start, health care for our men and women who are coming home from Iraq with all kinds of medical needs. These men and women are being shoved aside for lack of government funds and caring.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
but spending money on our vets does not get you a return on your investment. On the other hand providing cash to a candidate get potential favors down the road somewhere. We are Americans are such hypocrits. Love the war, buy the yellow ribbon magnets, "Support our Troops" signs but when it comes to providing them with decent wages or medical car we turn our heads away and ignore them. I guess if you are hurt or mutilated you are of no use to anyone.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
You mean they didn't get the proceeds from the yellow "Support our troops" magnets?
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
I'm sure Rush is on the case and sending his ditto-heads to her rescue.
  • 1billinnj2 · 1 year ago
is it a sad state of affairs when you need 500 million dollars to run for president today. what happened to putting signs on poles. lol oy vey . what a world.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Why pick on the Poles? We could put signs on Czechs and Germans too.
  • 1billinnj2 · 1 year ago
i would love to see rush go to jail. he is a law breaker and laughs at it. oy vey.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Who wants to take bets Hillary won't be donating that general fund money to Obama to win the election?
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Has John McCain dropped out yet? After all, what part of "illegal" doesn't he understand? The law is the law.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
The law is the law....how pre-9/11!
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Junkie Rush. I'd like to see him die of an overdose...in the arms of a 15-year old Dominican ladyboy. LOL!!
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
I'm not seeing any coverage of McCain breaking the campaign law.

Of course, IOKIYAR. The commission will probably ignore it and let McCain get away with it.

Rice apologizes to Obama for passport 'curiosity'

Rice said she had spoke with Obama and told him she was sorry. The secretary said she "told him that I myself would be very disturbed,'' the Associated Press reports.

  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Do you notice how some people like Rice and Larry Johnson are passing it off as just "curiosity" when there has been no investigation? Looks like whitewash is already starting to be spread.
  • theWalrus · 1 year ago
Let me see if I get this straight - the rightwing manufactures a scandal regarding Obama's Pastor and then YOU use that rightwing smear in your previous posts to smear HRC (even going so far as to alter the image, making the Pastor appear WHITER!).

I don't get it. This is just plain NUTS.
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
Indeed, far too many of us are doing the GOP's work for them -- including attacking Clinton, who could still be our nominee.

Sounds like a recipe for a McCain presidency.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
I think Clinton is the main ingredient in the recipe for a McCain presidency.
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
Disagree. Either Obama or Clinton is vulnerable to being beaten by McCain, and bashing either of them only helps the GOP.

Anyone who thought Obama was a slam dunk against McCain ought to have had a serious wake up call with recent polls and the way the MSM has been shoving the Wright thing down our throats. It ain't fair or honest, but it's what they do.

The MSM is now solidly behind McCain, and will treat Obama and Clinton unfairly, and will treat McCain with kid gloves.

So it's up to *us* to make sure that neither Obama or Clinton is swift-boated.

If Clinton IS the nominee, she certainly CAN win, and I would hope she does win. Same for Obama. But nothing is guaranteed at this point, so shooting at each other and taking swipes at our own candidates doesn't do anyone any good at this point -- clearly, McCain and the GOP are taking advantage of the situation.
  • theWalrus · 1 year ago
Gee, Bill Richardson looks swarthier and blacker in this picture than Obama!

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/184748.php

Looks like "photoshoppin' Hillary at work again! John, please investigate.
  • rhodydad · 1 year ago
Snap! No wonder HRC couldn't pay for MI or FL.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
This may seem like a lot of money that they spent on the campaign. But remember, Bush wastes that much in less than two days in Iraq. The total spend so far by both Obama and Clinton would pay for only 40 hours of the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Bill Richardson does look a bit swarthy in real life. He's from New Mexico and I think he has some mestizo blood in him. The sun down there will make your skin into leather anyway.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Just went to a bunch of major news sites home pages at random:

Boston Globe - A story on Rev. Wright
NY Times - A story on Spitzer
Washington Post - How much Obama spend per minute
LA Times - Is Obama's campaign just a marketing blitz? And a story on Rev. Wright.

Not a word on McCain breaking the law. What part of "illegal" don't they understand?

Also, it kind of blows a hole in the theory that the media is pro-Obama.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Yeah, the media is pro-McCain.

God, they fawn over that idiot.
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
I warned various people in this blog about that weeks, maybe even months ago. But I was assured that the media love affair with Obama would continue and I was accused of being a wet blanket and a fucking repuke neocon.

It's small solace to be proved right, but I do hope it serves as a wake up call to people who naively assumed Obama was a slam-dunk. It is going to be a long HARD struggle to elect the first black man, or the first woman, as president, regardless of merit or experience or honesty or fairness.

The GOP, and their stooges in the corporate media, will do everything and anything to ensure McCain wins against either Obama or Clinton. Take that to the bank.
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
The media is pro-corporate and they will support any candidate who supports the corporate agenda.

Unfortunately the corporate agenda involves ripping us off and sending our jobs overseas. They want no government interference in their criminal activities.

We will get stuck with McSame and 4 more years of the disasterous Repuke corporate agenda. I don't think this nation can survive that.

    not uncommon
  • theWalrus · 1 year ago
McCain breaking the law not being reported?

Why would the press report something that has become synonymous with being Republican? And besides, he just smells too good, what with all that leather and aqua velva. And he's a maverick! And a former prisoner of war!
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    And he's a maverick!

    And Lieberman is "Goose."
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
At least it looks like the NY Times will finally be going after McCain's preacher on Sunday:

my point was that the average person can not run for president because it costs 500 million dollars.

The average person cannot run for Preznit because most of us don't want to sell our soul to the Devil, which seems to be a prerequisite.

If Hillary is having this much trouble with a budget of $150 million, how will she handle the federal budget?

to be fair to hillary... she's demonstrated that she can budget at least as well as the current administration.

It's probably just one person. One person is taking away a point from every comment I make, even when I am answering people's questions about how the comment system works. A couple of commenters are doing that to a handful of people. You never seemed to be the type to worry about what other people think, so just comment they way you always have, and don't let people censor you. I mean, unless you are being rude and obnoxious. :)

Obama is beating HIllary every way possible.

    Yet Hillary will not quit.

And a new poll says 1 out of 5 Hillary supports and 1 out of 5 Obama supporters will vote McCain if the other one wins the nomination. Mission Accomplished Hillary.
  • Mike_H · 1 year ago
Wait, if it's equivalent statistic for both Hillary supporters AND Obama supporters, why is THAT solely Clinton's fault?!? Obama and/or his supporters would have equal responsibility in that stat, to be fair.

Yeah, Rice kills the racial bias-Clintons passport was breached also
Rice is an equal opportunity hacker. Within the complexity.

WASHINGTON - State Department employees inappropriately examined the passport files of Democratic Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, a security breach that forced Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to apologize to Obama.
  • hauksdottir · 1 year ago
Gee, didn't she steal enough from her own volunteer staffers to pay for the election? Perhaps Clinton ought to have raided the VISA accounts of Penn and the other fatcats instead of her loyal footsoldiers.

    :ptui!:

    NO MORE CLINTONS. EVER!

    NO MORE BUSHES. EVER!

They can take their dynastic pretensions and move to Pakistan or some banana republic with inherited premierships and rule there. Corruption and bribery are standard operating procedure and I'm sure that Bill can get tips from "Mr 40%" on how to acquire wealth while being husband to the throne-warmer.

Nobody is entitled to power by name alone. Not in America.
