AMERICAblog: Clinton losing donors to Obama: "At the end of the day, all she had to do was open her mouth for me not to believe her"

Screw trhe Clintons and their list. Just because Hillary's daddy was mean to her when she stepped out of line is no rerason for anyone to worry about this failed duplicitous has been. The Clintons are both tragedy and comedy.
  • Andyz · 1 year ago
Plus add the fact that she is running a racist campaign. Constantly calling Obama and Michelle "Elitist" is code for "Uppity N****" which works perfectly for the white, lower class voters she's courting. She is an embarrassment to the party and herself.

Democrat: Party may 'overturn will of people'

OLBERMANN: Surely the specifics of the racial aspect to this are being overplayed, aren't they? If anyone Democrat were to deliberately try to undermine another Democrat's chances of winning in November, wouldn't that just be, regardless of color, gender or anything else, would that not be political treason or something like it?

CLYBURN: You're absolutely correct. There is no question about that................

why the media are doing such a "good job" reporting statement that they consider a :gaffe" by obama as well as clinton?
where was this great media when every scandal of bushco was dismissed?
plame, DA scandal, etc., you know them all.
    where was the media???

Newsweek article on how it would be 'payback' time if Hillary were to win.

a lot of folks—including a huge chunk of the media—will join Bill Richardson (a.k.a. Judas) in the Deep Freeze. If the Clintons get back into the White House, it will be retribution time,

    Grandma,

As posted in the thread below, the use of the fear factor via "threats" of retribution just further evidence Clinton's desperation. So what. If she loses, which she should, she is the junior Senator from NY that will be carrying Barrack's water for the net four years without any yank having squandered all of her political capital in the monumental failure of a sickening and damaging campaign.

Old fart limousine liberals, frequenters of the DC circuit currently carrying the Clinton's water like Eleanor Clift cannot stand the fact they are currently and for now everlastingly irrelevant.

I can see Eleanor's shaky bony wrinkled finger swaggering in somene's face while her weak whiny voice weakly utters: "Watch out all you young whippersnappers for feeble failed feckless grandma Eleanor and bisqit and gravy grandpa Bill will get you if you do not support Hillary."

What a freakin' joke. These people need to leave.

If this doesn't shake the super delegates out of their trees what will? And if the SD should swing for Hillary there will be a mass exodus from the Democratic Party. IMHO
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
    BorninUSA,

If the SDs steal the nomination for Clinton, completely discarding and thwarting the will of the voters, there will be more than a mass exodus from the dem party. The dems could lose the House and White House in '08.

What happens if Hillary Clinton does somehow manage to become president? Eleanor Clift speaks for many when she says it'll be payback time:

Notables who abandoned her for Obama will get the Big Chill. "He's dead to us," a Clinton aide was quoted saying of John Kerry, who along with Ted Kennedy was turned off by the perception of race baiting that led up to the South Carolina primary. A major donor, conflicted between the two candidates and apologetic over his backing of Obama, found Hillary less than sympathetic. "Too bad for you, because I'm going to win," she snapped

Why haven't Gore, Edwards, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Kennedy, Feingold, and a whole lot of other Democratic bigwigs stepped forward and said enough is enough. Not only is the party being ripped apart but the country as well. The Democratic Party is the laughing stock of politics. McCain just sails along without a care in the world. He is enjoying this controversary because it means he will be the next POTUS. When we don't hear anything from the Clinton camp for a few days it scares me. It means they are plotting their next move and that only means trouble. Their actions are making them the most hated couple in America. And that will never change. Ever.

too bad her on the ground, everyday supporters do not act like those in the article. You see them so deluded and in such a rage. Alot of it is being fueled by the pro Clinton blogs that gins up the anger and the press that is not telling them the truth.
Reality is that most of the party, especially the democratic leaders and professionals, see Obama as the unofficial nominee. They are trying to give Hillary the room to bow out with dignity but, she is not taking the hint.
So, they are starting to come out publicly more and more to put pressure on her and prepare those supporters who still think she will win.
  • KatherineHepburnEyes · 1 year ago
We've divided ourselves all on our own and without the help of the republicans. Do we not see this? A McCain win will be the result of our actions.

It scares the hell out of me that this ongoing "civil war" in the Dem party is just driving moderate dems and undecideds right to McCain. Hell, at this point I'd almost be ok with Obama stepping aside just to stop the damage. Almost.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
"If this party is perceived by people as having gone into a back room somewhere and brokered a nominee, that would not be good for our party," House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (S.C.), the highest ranking African American in Congress, warned yesterday. "I'm telling you, if this continues on its current course, [the damage] is going to be irreparable."

That fear, plus a more general sense that Clinton's only route to victory would be through tearing down her opponent, has led even some black Democrats who are officially neutral in the race, such as Clyburn, to speak out.

    ---------

Then why the hell doesn't Clyburn come out for Obama?

His race is being written off in favor of so-called "Reagan Democrats" who are either ditto heads sent from Rush Limbaugh or White Rustics who aren't going to vote for an overbearing woman and rumored Lesbian in the General Election anyway, yet he tries to stay neutral.

    I don't get it.

I watched Bill Maher last night to catch Arianna but the star was Gary Shandling when he stated, "after Pennsylvania i was let down, I really can't watch another debate, I don't want to hear a single thing from either of them we have heard all they have to say." This my friends say tons. He is right, the argument that every state has to be heard is horseshit. They will still have their primary. The delegates will still go to Denver. The numbers are the numbers. We don't see Huckabee, Romney and the boys contesting every state on the GOP side they acknowledge it is over. No one is saying not to have the primaries, but we are saying that destroying Senator Obama is THEIR goal and I think the goal of the DNC. There most certainly is a race issue at times blatant at others in your face. They, the Clintons and the DNC are no more ready for a black candidate or a black President than they are for the changes he will bring this country. The want status quo, their cushie jobs, their under the table kickbacks, their old boy's club, the reach arounds, their cross the aisle blow jobs for each other. Senator Obama represents the end of that era and thank God for that. No this is over and if you recall when Bill Clinton was running for the first time he did not need to tell his competitors to bow out, they knew it was over.
This is about destruction and getting even, this is about showing Obama you don 't fuck with the Clintons, this is about sending the message for all the ass hats in Washington that in the end you will win, but don't ever forget we can crucify you any time we want. Their goal (Clinton's and DNC), is to perpetuate the status quo.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
More than 70 top Clinton donors wrote their first checks to Obama in March, campaign records show. Clinton's lead among superdelegates, a collection of almost 800 party leaders and elected officials, has slipped from 106 in December to 23 now, according to an Associated Press tally.

KOKOMO, Ind. -- When Sen. Barack Obama laced up his basketball shoes Friday evening for a three-on-three game with some players half his age, he was doing something that could prove important should he become the Democratic nominee: looking young and healthy.

In a rare move by his presidential campaign, network news cameras were allowed to record Obama, 46, moving up and down the court, playing a game that is almost a religion in this state.

While his relative lack of Washington experience has been repeatedly used against him, Obama's youth and athleticism could offer a dramatic general election contrast with Sen. John McCain, 71, the likely Republican nominee.

    -----

Maybe, but the Clintons are only powerful until their money holds out.

They've already lost much influence in the party over their primary stunts and, I suspect, most of their remaining big name supporters are either looking for jobs or favors or are getting paid by them.

Once the back of the Clinton Patronage System is broken, the Clintons will be surprised to see how little power they have.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
One thing that bothers me is if Clinton loses the nomination AND if it is true she is trying to destroy Obama what happens if he is elected? Having Senator Clinton as an on going enemy could not be good for a new president. Will she stop her quest for achieving the White House or will she, at every possible chance, try to torpedo his every move?

Honestly, if Obama should get elected I would like to see Hillary out of politics.

If anyone's followed Hillary and Bill for any period of time, the lying should not be a surprise. What is really astonishing about her in particular is the ease with which she makes up stuff and then sticks to these lies when confronted with facts that are contrary to her statements. It's really pathological.

Thanks for that link to the Swamp. I don't usually read it but this morning I did and I am glad I did. The very first comment after the article is eye opening to as to the extent of Clinton's negativity. Someone spent a lot of time putting together attacks from Iowa to now. We have gotten so used to hearing her negative attacks but when you see them outlined it is really horrific.

You said calling her a liar is nasty, but why? She lied about Bosnia (by her own admission) ,lied about NAFTA, and while not actually lying about Iraq she has tried to change the history of her vote. So why is it nasty to call her a liar?
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
I think mastar lied when stating it is nasty to call Hillary a liar.
  • DaveTheAngryRhodeIslander · 1 year ago
Maxstar - Calling her on her lying is "nasty"? That's incredibly childish of you. Why should we dismiss these stupid lies rather than call her out on them? What purpose could she have in lying about Bosnia other than to make herself out to be some sort of brave, warrior type who waltzed into hostile territory to save the poor people of Bosnia? She knew that these preposterous claims were false, yet she continued to hold to them. Is this not reprehensible? Is this what YOU want in a president? It's not what I want and I will call her on it, as I would any other democrat candidate who would publicly make an ass of themselves and break the trust of the voters. It's not specifically because it's Hillary - it's because Hillary's a pathological liar.

Several of my family members who used to support the Clintons have now switched to Obama. I live near Atlanta and you hear stories like this a lot.
  • Bobby_Sambang · 1 year ago
I've written to the DCCC to tell them no more follow up contributions from me, until Hillary drops out of the race. "Dear Nancy, Until Hillary Clinton drops out of the race...."

You get the idea. Bascially I'm not going to support the party until it stands up to the Clintons. As soon as 50 Super D's go en masse to Obama, or someone like Rahm Emmanuel says enough is enough, then I will give again.

If you really want to know why the republicans want Hillaty to be the nominee,
on youtube search the following: "the clinton chronicles 1-11" "bosnia and back again" and the mena cover up. Bill controlled things when president and blocked us from getting this information and had the power to delay and bury things, for the republicans it's pay back time. Too many lives
were lost trying to come forward and share this information with America.

In the words of Mr T ~I pity the fool~that can't see thetruth behind this corrupt twosome!!!!!
  • maxstar212 · 1 year ago
I think Hillary is going to be the Democratic nominee, and all these attacks on her are just helping John McCain. Calling her a liar is absolutely nasty. Democrats should be better. All politicians fudge the truth sometimes. Here is Obama's spiritual advisor for 20 years, a man who know him very well, saying that Obama is just another politician who does not always tell the truth.

    maxstar,
So is Rev. Wright, when he is speaking as a pastor always lying to his people? sheesh. The spin on this quote is incredibly convoluted.

When my niece is speaking, as a teacher, to her students-is she lying to them? When my tax guy, as an accountant, is speaking to me is he lying? When my physician is speaking to me, as a doctor, is he lying to me?
    feh
  • maxstar212 · 1 year ago
Lets not play games here. What he was saying was that Obama is just another politician who has to say certain things he doesn't believe to get elected. We know what it means to call someone a typical "politician," they have to eat foods that they don't like, they have to be places they don't want to be and they have to say things that are not true just to get elected. I hear him correctly. And it was not a good testimonial about Obama's character.
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
    Keep spinning max.

You are the one playing a game here. When Obama speaks as a politician it does not mean he is lying.

When Hillary talks about Bosnia sniper fire, she is lying.
But when she speaks as a politician it does not mean she is lying.
When she speaks to Chelsea, as a mother, it does not mean she is lying to her daughter.

Thanks for giving us the inevitable FOX talking point .
