I've never eaten "bling"; but, I'm seriously considering a Chuckhouse Chickenfried steak on Sat nite...

Not for nothing, Chris, but my years in TV tell me that this mis-timed special was put together and sold months ago, before anyone could have put a date to the day when things were going to start going to hell in a handbasket.

CNBC thus wound up with a predicament -- cancel the special, which had been sold months in advance, and take the income loss at a time when ad revenue's tight....or keep the commitment to advertisers, try to sneak the special by, and, I'm sure, be somewhat embarrassed that the special's running now.

Not defending the Home Of Rampant Capitalism. I'm just noting that something like this was in the pipeline for half a year or more, most likely.

No, I think it's more evidence of the New America -- where you have a handful of ultra-wealthy and a broad mass of people barely getting by, if at all. This was the plan all along.

I still see the private jets zooming into our area, bringing the ultra-wealthy to their 12-million dollar vacation homes for a weekend of golf. They've taken a small ding in their portfolios, but none of them are facing any major upheavals in their lifestyles.

Diamond collars for my two cats vs. heating oil. This is going to be a hard decision.
