Desperate to resuscitate his diminishing hopes for the White House, John McCain during tonight's presidential town hall meeting dramatically reversed course on a mortgage bailout for home owners. This spring, McCain adamantly stated "it is not the duty of government to bail out and reward those who act irresponsibly, whether they are big banks or small borrowers." Now with his presidential campaign and the economy in dire straits alike, John McCain decided to open the federal wallet after all.
And the CNN People Meter dropped like a stone when he said it. Most Republicans HATE the idea of bailing out individuals who shouldn't have bought houses in the first place (specifically, people of the darkly-pigmented persuasion). Maddow pointed out on Olberman 2 (around 1110 EST) that the right-wing blogs are howling about it.

I got mine and my partner's absentee ballots in the mail today. We voted for Obama (of course)! :) I am finally starting to feel a little better about this election; as long as people in either Ohio or Florida (or both) don't choose more recession and more war and hand it to McCain.

Relax.
1) Obama can win the election without getting either Florida or Ohio.
2) He's probably going to win both.

Damn Bill and HIllary bought all McCain's ammunition, donated it to the McCain campaign and then loaded the gun, aimed it at Obama and left it up to McCain to pull the trigger. Luckily McCain messed up the aim, and can't hit the broad side of a barn.

As predicted the Republicans want to cling to the moment where John McCain patted the veteran on the back and shook his hand.
But, that was when the national spotlight was on him and the cameras were rolling.
When the cameras were off, John McCain was nowhere to be found. He left 2-3 minutes after the debate. Who stayed? Barack Obama. He probably shook every hand in that town hall. He laughed with them. Signed autographs. Took pictures. He was there at least 15 minutes afterwards.
Where was John McCain? His handshake wasn't genuine - it was a planned moment. We all knew that he was going to try to do something to prove he's "touching" and does well in a townhall. It was not genuine. He didnt care once the cameras were off.

One thing I've noticed about CNN's bally hooed UNDECIDEDS in Ohio. Whenever Soledad asks them a question, NO MATTER WHAT THE QUESTION, a majority of them raises their hands as "Yes," but then when she asks for them to raise their hand again for the "No" vote then a minority raise their hands. Just goes to show you what idiots and how suggestible they are! ONLY SEVEN made up their minds tonight. FOOLS!

It was me, and I noticed that those IDIOTS who are undecided and "the stars" of tonight's debate are highly suggestible. Hell, all Soledad had to do is ask a question a certain way, and make sure she asked if McCain won FIRST and the majority of their sheeple hands went up. One hand goes up real fast and the majority of the other hands go up. Those idiots don't know what day it is.

Preaching to the converted, or was that polling the converted?
Opponents of a campaign to ban same-sex marriage in California said Tuesday that a new poll shows them in danger of losing -- unless people step forward with more contributions to pay for No on 8 television commercials.
The opposition has enjoyed a healthy lead in several surveys taken by polling organizations that do not have a stake in the campaign. But officials with the No on 8 campaign held a conference call with reporters Tuesday to announce that their own poll showed the measure would pass by four points. Opponents attributed the result to fewer television ads, which is, in turn, a result of the No on 8 campaign falling behind in fundraising.

Sacrifices America must make: Haven't we already made sacrifices? Thanks to Bush college students are stuck with a debt that we will not be able to repay in our life time. So now the candidates have to restructure! McCain states programs are going to have to be cut, but why? Shouldn't the government restructure the way there is a loop hole for their pentions. For instance, Bush will now get a pention as a senator, president and the military forces. Shouldn't this loop hole be fixed before they go after important programs that are helping the U.S? As for the loses of jobs in the U.S. make companies keep them in the country stop letting companies send them out of America. It's time for both of these candidates to get their plans straight and explain to the citizens of the U.S. exactly what this entails to every state not just as a country. AND STOP PUTTING THE OTHER PERSON DOWN IN DEBATES! WE WANT TO KNOW THE ISSUES!

Well, I noticed at the end of the debate that Sen. McCain was busy just shaking hands with all the men while Sen. Obama was shaking hands with both men and women plus having his picture taken with them. Then when Sen. McCain tapped Sen. Obama on his left shoulder while standing to his right (like when a child does it to make you spin around) and Sen. Obama went to his left to acknowledge Sen. McCain tapping him, Sen. McCain stepped back and away from Sen. Obama extending his hand to Sen. McCain, so instead Sen. Obama then greeted and acknowledged Sen. McCain's wife and little taken aback from the whole ordeal. Then Sen. Obama walked away and continued to greet the audience. That was very distasteful of Sen. McCain and he really showed EXACTLY how he really is. Plus, Sen. McCain walked around very stiff when he spoke and uncomfortable about the whole debate, as if he was being controlled by someone with an Atari game controller, while Sen. Obama was calm, cool and collective.
The biggest thing that makes me applaud Sen. Obama is how he will not lower himself to Sen. McCain's level of c___p and when answering the question about health care that it is a RIGHT, not a responsibility.
I haven't voted since 2000, but I will now for I believe my vote will count this time and I will be voting for Sen. Obama. He gives me hope, something that I haven't had for a very long time. And for all of you out there: My family was born and raised Rep. for generations, but in 2000 we changed to independent because there was no way in H___ we were going to vote for Bush, we decided to vote for the man not for the political party.

They disrespected the moderator, as usual, and as usual the moderator and/or producer didn't have the nerve to turn their mikes off when they didn't stop.
Your poll is faulty, as always; it reflects your viewership so it is left leaning. Many people in this country don't have Internet but do vote. Many people in this country have caller i.d. and pollsters don't show up by name so the phone doesn't get answered. Time to address this technology gap to get at poll results that truly reflect the voting public.

McCain won in my opinion. He was presidential and stayed strong through the debate. The apology issue was well within context and I believe that Obama strayed off topic more than McCain. I hope everyone makes the correct decision, this country cannot stand for another tilted government. First the republican way, and now the democrat way if Obama is elected. The liberal side is not going unheard with a democrat majority in congress. Remember it was a DEMOCRAT that sank us in a DEPRESSION!!!
