On the daily show and colbert report tonight ron paul and huckabee both came off as being pretty disgruntled with the republican party.

The pundits, at least on MSNBC, are raving about McCain's speech. Itsn't it strange how people can listen to the same speech and come away with different analysis?

Obama will destroy McCain in the debates. McCain has no economic plan. McCain has no health care plan. McCain has no environmental plan. McCain voted with Bush 90% of the time. McCain can't even read a telepromter without looking awkward and uncomfortable. However McCain responds to the questions during the debates, Obama's response to the same questions will clearly offer "changes" while McCain's will offer more of the same.

John, I like turn that we are seeing with some of the usual talking heads. Schneider is on target here, and Joe Klein? When did he suddenly wake up and see the rot that is up to his ankles? What made him see it all of a sudden? Not to bemoan that, I'm glad that TIME now has a feisty counterpart to Matt Drudge's BFF: Mark Halperin.
Not having cable or satelite, I rely on PBS in favor of the garbage that is on the networks. It used to be a good alternative. But this year, what a letdown! All I heard about last week in Denver was variations on the latest great and anticipated PUMA sighting, which never materialized because it never really was there. Charlie Rose, later in the evening, was just as bad and shallow. Now, this week in St. Paul, it is the absence of any fact-telling that dominates PBS's and Charlie Rose's coverage. Every lie, distortion and evasion remains unchallenged. And many are echoed and reinforced by the talking heads. I am particularly angry at Al Hunt. When did he surrender his journalistic gonads? And to whom? Was it to Michael Bloomberg? All he could say about Palin's lie to the nationls face about her record on "The Bridge to Nowhere" was to wave it off as a little triffle. Serious journalism is dying and Court Eunachs are taking over.

Just finished Charlie Rose's wrap-up. Dreadful analysis. I can't believe that these talking heads have such a low opinion of the average swing voter out there that they think that Palin's pick as V.P. will now lock up places like Montana, Colorado, and Arizona. Have these pundits confused the crowd in the convention with average America? Don't they realize that there is a coming storm of very bad revelations concerning Gov. Palin, and almost none of them will concern her daughter, unless, of course, thanks to the National Enquirer or US magazine, we discover that Levi Johnson has several "Baby Mamas" on the side. Like the Father in "The Graduate" who summed up the future and its possibilities in one word: "PLASTICS!", I say watch out for "YouTube!"
Already there is a video of Palin's congregation in the throes of "Speaking in Tongues" and the holy grail to look for are other videoes that show a whole lot of white hot rhetoric about all sorts of issues and about Jews and Catholics.. This scene may be old hat for the confirmed Fundies who are Palinbots-to-be, but it will be eye-openning and earth shaking for the many fundies and religious conservatives who are not Pentacostalists, like old-line Baptists, conservative Methodists, Catholics and Jews. And the double Holy Grail would be any solid link between her congregation, either at home in Wasilla or in Juneau, and Joel's Army. Joel's Army is a hundred notches up on the scary scale. It is like Jim Jones meets the crowd at Ruby Ridge meets Timothy McVeigh meets the Atlanta Olympic bomber. And of course, there is the ties to the Alaska Independent Party and its founder, Mr. I hate America. if there is video out there linking her to any of these groups or issues, she will be toast. The media can;t resist bloody chum in the water.
Maybe the idiots on Charlie Rose have been spending too much time in the corporate tents, eating and drinking the free stuff. But I can't believe that their emails aren't full of these leads. Of course, they seem to only check out Drudge, not AmericaBLOG or Daily Kos.
