  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
We should change it from "deer in the headlights to Wolf in the headlights. Cafferty must just piss go along Wolfie off.
  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
Palin questions at the top of the CBS news. Katie Couric had the gall to ask "Where is she?" lol
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
So who is Sarah Palin really??? She's really Tina Fey pulling a big punk on us, isn't she??? Or is she Julia Louis-Dreyfuss?

There's no way this book-banning gun-loving woman-hating woman is REAL.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
this is where I really miss Gilda Radner...

could you imagine her interviewing palin as Rosanne Rosannadanna?
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
I can't wait for Saturday Night Live to return. You KNOW they will tear McCain and Sarah Palin to pieces!
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
Actually... Dana Carvey as the Churchlady... could you imagine that interview.

so... your teenage daughter is pregnant? Isn't that special! left the key to the chastity belt on the coffee table eh? and what's the father's name... eli, leroy, Levi right? you know, if you add one little 'D' to that name and move the 'L' to the end... it spells something completely different. A name in fact, another name for... oh, I don't know... could it be... SATAN?!?
  • devis1 · 1 year ago
    LOL. Love the new name.
  • catdance · 1 year ago
    hahaha!
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Actually, I was not a fan of their political skits this last season, so new season or not...I'm not really sure I will be watching this go round.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
but... but... mcsame was a POW!!!
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
Can she even get a national security clearence?? Frankly, this is getting scary if you actually care about this country's security.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I bet more people have some level of security clearance in this country than the entire populace of her home state.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
That's ok. Bidden is going to eviscerate her in the debates. The more they "hide" this vetting, the more they get into trouble. This decision by mcfool will be his downfall. Do we really need to hear from this women anyway??

    Mcfool/Hypocrisy '08
  • cookindiggin · 1 year ago
Is it possible that he picked her so that she WOULD fail? Sounds really devious, I know, but we are talking about the repugnants here.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
What do you suppose would be the motive to fail? I dont think this is it. I think McFool was so pissed at rove and company, that he went off half cocked....
  • Will_In_Midtown · 1 year ago
I wondered that too. And I wondered it when Bush picked Harriet Miers. In both cases, all I could think was "surely not!" But I am started to agree with HC&M that McCain just went off half-cocked. The part that still creeps me out most though is that the crazy bitch accepted. I cannot possibly figure out how anyone could be that foolish to enter the national level of politics woefully underqualified and staggeringly over-nominated.
  • alaskan · 1 year ago
When she opens her mouth on any issue other than Alaskan energy, it will all be over and we can get back to our normal lives.
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
Maybe "vetting" means something different to a POW.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
again... watch mcsame looking at her.

    vetting... translation: "sweet ass!"
  • grandma · 1 year ago
CNN reported earlier that Obama received his first Intelligence Briefing today as the Dem nominee....and that Biden, McCain and Palin will all have the Intelligence Briefing.

Of the four Palin is the only one without security clearance but will still have the Intelligence Briefing.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
will they brief her husband too?

I mean... she claimed 'executive privilege' on a FOIA request, even though his name was cc'd on the emails in question...

so if they nominate her, they have to nominate him as well.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
Those emails were great! I know his site has more, so take a look and enjoy!

JUST UP at WaPo: Palin slashed state funds for teen mothers (specifically a 20% cut for homeless pregnant teens). Keep the girls ignernt, have strapping white boys loaded with sperm impalem', throw 'em out the house, make 'em live on the streets as punishment. Populate White Alaska for beaucoup Federal handouts and Big Oil rebates. Who wouldn't love PalinNation?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
This at a time when Alaska is swimming in Oil Revenues.

It had nothing to do with finance and everything to do with ideology.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
Everyone in America should be abso-freakin terrified of Palin being a hearbeat away...
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
She should use the Cheney method.

All she has to do is sit there and say: "You're out of line, Wolf."
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
    Sorry, off topic, but....

John, did you see this one??

Gay Republicans (log cabin' folks) endorse McCain

  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Yay! The McCain campaign got some good NEWS today! To link to the theme of the thread: maybe Sarah can do a big sit-down with the gayz.
  • catdance · 1 year ago
She r already on teh recordz as anti-teh-gayz. Jeziz told her.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
Any Democratic spokesperson reading this....whenever they are asked in interviews, about Palin being inexperienced, and the Rethuglicans try to turn it on Obama, asking if He is qualified...I wish you would point out that Obama was ELECTED by millions of voters, who think he is qualified and able to lead this country, and became the Democratic nominee. Whereas Palin was CHOSEN by McPain.
A poor choice and bad judgment for someone who might be President.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Another good answer: the question is, who has the knowledge and depth of understanding of national and international policies and history.
It's a mistake, I think to try to compare resumes.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
you notice how they keep pitting Obama against Palin instead of Biden? wassup with that?
  • HelenaMontana · 1 year ago
Very surprisingly, CBS Evening News did a pretty complete rundown on the state of play on Palin, and mighty interesting it was. They mentioned, of course, the pregnant teenage daughter, but they also mentioned the porkbarreling, the ex-brother in law, and the membership in the Alaska Independent Party (I think that's what they call themselves), including the information that it is a separatist organization. The also covered the non-vetting. Pretty surprising for the in-the-bag CBS news organization.

Of course, Bob Schieffer managed get snide about the fact that the Democrats aren't pushing any of these story lines--he said they're taking the high road because the media is doing their work for them, but if anything really concrete comes out, they'll jump on it with both feet--as if the Dems had no right to exploit any faults of Schieffer's adored McCain . After the past nine years of smears and slanders from the GOP, I thought that was pretty thick.
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
CNN - Cafferty did his hit piece too. Makes you think the right wing media is not happy with Palin. The Oligarchy is not happy with this choice either. As you all well know, the media is the mouth piece of the Oligarchy.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
How does Davis expect President Palin to do a White House news conference? He's not thinking any further ahead than the next crisis-laden two minutes.
  • JMOHR · 1 year ago
I feel sorry for Palin as hard as that is to believe since I am a died in the wool Democrat who believes that the Republican party should be outlawed and its leaders sent to GITMO. But God, why would Palin not have accepted the nod. For Christ's sakes, it would be the dream of a lifetime for almost any politician. I may not like her personality or politics, but she did have a very promising career in her own party that will now evaporate.

Makes you kind of understand how so many poor Americans got suckered into sub prime mortgages - the American dream. Just like the lenders took advantage of the hopes and dreams of the would be home owner, McCain seemed to have misled Palin.

Well, maybe she will learn to empathize. ----- Nah
  • martha · 1 year ago
No, she has no empathy. Her daughter got to "choose". She wants to make sure no one else get to.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
no.. she made it sound like her daughter got to choose.

her only choice was "marry the father or we file rape charges against him."
  • Nuffsaid · 1 year ago
McCain did Palin a big disservice by not doing a full and complete vetting on her. She is just a small town girl from a small state stuck in the back end of nowhere and she doesn't realize that the American public didn't go to the prom with her, don't care about her family ties and is not going to accept everything she says just cause she says its so. We are a rude people. Thank god. And with the internets and youtube and such we just ain,t going to buy the bullshit she is putting out. The very first words out of her mouth, at her first speach were lies that took about five minutes on the net to discount. Poor Prom Queen. I know it's not a fair world but it would be a whole lot worse with you running it.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Yes, that was cruel of McSame not to insist on a thorough vetting. He's so arrogant, he just tossed her out to the wolves.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
dyed in the wool. I wish people would research the proper etymology of 'turns of phrases' before they used them.
  • martha · 1 year ago
John McCain and his handlers are cynical and sick.
  • Nuffsaid · 1 year ago
After listening to McCain call Palin "His Soul Mate" I'm beginning to wonder if he was having a senor moment. He just thought he was asking her to go on a buggy ride. Now he can't understand what all the fuss is about. Qualified, course she's qualified after all he knows she puts out.
If John had spent more time with Palin she could have told him, "John as a life long member of the NRA I must warn you that when you shoot from the hip you offen blow your own foot off."
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
"don't holster your pistol in your waistband... you might not blow off your foot first."
  • Aanya · 1 year ago
This whole thing sounds and smells like Bush/Cheney! God help this country if we don't win this election!
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
    I shudder at the thought!
  • Will_In_Midtown · 1 year ago
Oh, LORDY! My favorite line was in regards to Palin actually becoming the President:

"It would be Katrina for the rest of us!"

    ROFLMAO
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
    THAT is hilarious!!
  • daingel · 1 year ago
So I take it Putin's going to have to stare his soulful KGB eyes on an empty chair, and feel relieved and grateful she wasn't there to giggle him to death?
  • sa2968 · 1 year ago
    A "combative" attitude,what the......

I can just see it now, "President McCain announced today that he will not send Vice President Palin to speak with the President of Iran about his country's nuclear ambitions because the Iranians seem to be too combative. Should they decide to play nice, the President may reconsider his position."

    This is pathetic......
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
Anyone else listen to the CBS evening news tonight (other than yours truly and Katie Couric's mother, that is)? Someone referred to the Palins as "your average American family." Riiight, your average American family with kids named Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig.

Then Dan Bartlett, former Bush communications director, referred to all the "relevations" about the Palins. That's not a typo--he DID say "relevations." Sheesh, this president and this communications director deserve each other.
  • DavidinChelseaMA · 1 year ago
This is Harriet Miers redux. Another unqualified pick from a Republican. Gee, what were the chances of THAT?

also see: Alberto Gonzales, or former FEMA chief, Michael D. Brown.

Watching the talking heads today, I keep hearing:
    * Re-Thug: Palin is the ONLY executive experience on either ticket
    * Dem response: it's not Obama-vs-Palin, it's Obama-vs-McCain

When is the Dem talking point go to the obvious, that
    * (minor point) Obama legislated effectively in an enormously complex, political-mine-laden state
    * (less minor point) Obama hit the ground running in the US Senate, a maverick uncowed by a tradition-bound, notoriously difficult body of folks with decades more experience.
    * (major point) Obama is not just a pop star. He has accomplished something that eluded a good number of much better-known 30-plus-year political animals, including McCain, by building a disciplined, focused, remarkably effective grassroots organization. The organization has managed its message, staff, volunteers, strategy, and execution unlike any other org -- for-profit or not -- that has emerged from nothing to spending hundreds of millions in a few months.

Strikes me as uncommonly successful executive experience.

Gov. Palin, please, stand up and match the gravitas of running the state of Alaska to that of creating and growing a one-of-a-kind $100-million-plus organization. The two of you have been doing it for essentially the same period of time.

Next, match the ethical gravitas you brought to the task to Obama's.
  • LisaLV711 · 1 year ago
If McCain thinks that he can extort the media like he's been extorted, then far as I am concerned, neither he nor Sarah needs the media during the rest of the campaign. They should pull all their ads from the air and just promote themselves.
  • kirkaracha · 1 year ago
wasn't it the McCain campaign recently whining about how many articles there are about Barack Obama, and how the media refuses to cover McCain?

McCain's jealous Obama gets all the attention.
  • canuck55 · 1 year ago
Isn't Cafferty great - "I'll bet she is..."?
And wasn't Fred Thompson, uh, like a sonambulant Foghorn Leghorn on Lunesta?
And didn't the audience in that hall look so darned WHITE and OLD.
And the music that was playing was just perfect - some of that new fangled rock and roll that the young people are listening to by that cool cat Chuck Berry?
Someone please wake those poor people up and tell them that they can go back to the home now.
  • RaveOn · 1 year ago
John McCain rolled the dice and found his "soul mate" for VP and possible President of your country. Maverick was a high rollin' gambler. On Nov 4th, roll the dice with John McCain. Maybe you are a gambler too?
