AMERICAblog: CNN's Susan Roesgen: Teabagging is "a party for Obama bashers" and "highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox"

  • Gorgonzola · 7 months ago
Where were the teabaggers when Bush /Cheney et al made 12 billion dollars of Iraq coalition money disappear into the morass of GOP friendly corporations and rent-a-soldier companies?
  • janicebridges · 7 months ago
Your argument that Obama's bad behavior can be justified by pointing to Bush's bad behavior just stops your debate right in its tracks. I thought Bush (and the Dem-dominated Congress) were out of control with their spending. So, you are giving Obama and this administration kudos for passing the biggest budget in the history of this country in order to "Fix" Bush's mistakes. Do you realize that when we get to the point (AND WE'RE ALMOST THERE!) when the number of people not paying taxes is larger than the number of people who are paying them? When that happens, this house of cards is going to collapse. So on that premise alone, a rational person has to see the insanity of continuing to hand out money that you can't back up. Also, since I LIVE IN New Orleans, I think I may have a little more credibility about what did and didn't happen when Katrina hit. The majority of people who didn't get assistance were those who chose to stay in their homes or walking the streets after it became obvious that things were getting bad. I am NOT referring to the infirmed (phsyically or mentally), the elderly or children. I'm talking about able-bodied people who made the CHOICE to be irresponsible and not take care of themselves and their families. Earlier this year, when several rivers overflowed in the midwest, and thousands of acres were flooding, people joined together in their cmmunities and worked day and night to sandbag, share their food, and keep their families safe. Any help that could have come locally in a timely manner would have come from Mayor Nagin (Dem mayor) and Kathleen Blanco (Dem. Gov.) but they both stonewalled George Bush in his efforts to work with them, and the result twas that the government assistance that he was trying to offer got hung up in a tangled contest of "we can do it better than you can". They were wrong--they made a mess of it. So please don't hang the albatross around Bush's neck. The citizens who waited for the Nanny to rescue them, and the State Dems who weren't playing nanny very well.
Also, your comment about illegal immigrants (key word: illegal) portrays the entire illegal immigration problem as all negative for the people who break the sovreign laws of our country, while faulting we who are anti-illegal immigration . Number one: they are breaking a federal law just by crossing the border. If you decided to illegally cross Canada's border, would you expect them to give you all the rights and privileges they have as a Canadian citizen? I doubt that you'd be so presumtuous. Most of the illegal immigrants in this country know that they will get a free education for their kids, and free medical care. I worked for Louisiana Medicaid, and almost every minority, including illegal immigrants, get free, timely, top-notch health care. If an illegal immigrant is pregrant and goes to the doctor. that doctor has to accept her as a patient, provide her with the quality prenatal care he gives all of his other patients, must deliver the baby and provide care for the baby for several months. All of this medical is paid for it by...you guessed it: our tax dollars. Medicaid is fully aware of the fact that many pregnant Mexican women wait until they are close to delivery, then make it across the border in time to have American taxes pay for medical care, delivery, follow-up care, then a few years later, we will start educating the child in our schools. At this time, both California and Massachusetts are on the edge of bankruptcy, due IN LARGE PART to the huge debt they have incurred trying to provide healthcare and education to the huge number of people who have very little intention of becoming citizens. Most people, liberal or conservative, realize this country was built by immigrants. But the thousands of immigrants who helped build this country came legally, immersed themselves in the country, the language and the culture. You cannot make a valid argument for amnesty today by pointing at the decades-long legal immigration history in this country. And when you call conservatives stupid, childish, racist, "teabaggers", kooks, on and on..it only results in YOUR being perceived as the very thing you profess to hate.

CNN was not covering the Tea Parties with reporters. Susan was not there to report. She was one activist fighting with another. Now the country knows why CNN is in last place, and FOX news bets them like a mule in the ratings. She is pathetic.
  • LCDinID · 7 months ago
Yeah - what's "illuminating" about those clips is they show how much the media elites and apparently leftist libs like yourself just DO NOT GET what millions of Americans expressed yesterday. It's our money! You are OUR government - we don't serve them. THEY are accountable to US! It's not "Obama-hating"; it's bad government hating!
    Get a clue!

Susan Roesgen should be fired, she is not a journalist, she's an Obama salesperson. But, I'm sure CNN isn't paying her much, she's a volunteer, just like ACORN.

I really believe this is all necessary. The American people need to see how crazy the right wing/republican party has gotten. Then we will be able to make it small enough to drown it in the bathtub.
  • Navun · 7 months ago
Why is it crazy for a disgruntled electorate to hold peaceful protest in the street. How will you achieve your goal of eliminating this type of behavior since you find it so crazy. Will you eliminate the opportunity for anyone other than socialists and liberals to protest? Will you silence the conservatives by driving their voices from the public airwaves? (What if the American people turn out to have a lot more people like this) I am tired of people on the left categorizing anyone who holds a position outside of the values of move on.org as being extremist.

    A. There were people from groups other than the republican party at these rallies. There were republicans, conservatives, libertarians, and even some democrats angered that the government is preparing to spend billions that we do not have.

    B. If Republicans were to behave in a way that was not crazy, what would they be doing? What do you want the minority party to do when the Anointed one is in office? Please tell me how to behave so noone on the left thinks I am crazy.

    C. You guys on the left do not have the resolve to do what it would take to eliminate conservatives from the political landscape. Your best bet is to flood the country with immigrants from various 'victim' groups and give them voting rights so that you crooks never lose another election.
  • vkobaya · 7 months ago
There were republicans, conservatives, libertarians, and even some democrats angered that the government is preparing to spend billions that we do not have.

But, of course, there is nothing at all wrong with the trillions that Bush stole, embezzled, wasted and blew on a criminal, unnessasary war. To say nothing about the millions of innocent human beings that Bush murdered because he is so bigoted as to think that Muslims and Arabs don't deserve to live or the thousand plus who died in New Orleans because Bush is also bigoted against Blacks.

Yes, Obama is spending a lot of money to fix the damage that Bush caused, vastly more money lost by Bush. Obama is at least a responsible, intelligent adult as opposed the bratty, spoiled, greedy, stupid, impetuous child that preceded him. Obama's repairs will cost us a tremendous amount, but that is petty compared to compounding the damage as conservatives and Republicans are advocating.

As for your complaint about immigrants, this nation has always been a nation of immigrants and every step of the way, the right has demonstrated bigotry, hatred and ostracism for anyone who was different. Yet, regardless, those immigrants worked hard, and contributed to the growth of this nation and, when allowed, they became good American citizens. The complaint that immigrants come to this nation to take advantage of our system, or to be criminals is bunk. They come because they believe that their hard work will be rewarded and they can have a good life which would be impossible in their home country where there are very few opportunities to advance.

these protests have nothing to do with taxes, they are all about pres obama and him winning the election, the bigots attending these fake protests are nothing more then typical rw hate mongers that can't stand the thought of a black pres running their lily white america. as is usual with the cons in america if they don't get their way they will try and take america down to their pathetic level of hate in the guise of fake outrage by using taxes this time as the latest tempest in a teapot.
  • skwcw2001 · 7 months ago
what is missed by alot is the underlined meaning of this rally, it is like a lynch party and i mean that in the way it is stated, these people have no idea why they are there other than they hate obama because he isnt their guy, and that their way of life is changing the days of the bigot church who is power hunger, being in charge.

They cant have this, the poor or those feeling that they have their way of life threatened will get illogical it will spin out of control and someone will attempt to kill obama this is true it is easy to prove how fundamentals who are losing control and not lead can easily spin so out of control that they act illogically and do violence. Make no mistake this was in no way a protest over tax's, if it was they they would stop paying it, and they would organize locally through city councils to get rid of some, this was a zealots r us party, it reminded me greatly of the fred phelps "protest". Intstead of offering a answer to the problem it is easier to lash out and bitch, and do everything to not bring up when bush was in charge. we are talking about people that mainly believe the earth is 6000 years old you cannot argue with them it doesnt work they want control and that is it.
  • Tim Prender · 7 months ago
Actually there was healthy amount of Bush bashing going on at the rally. And it was quite peaceful, subdued, and fun. But please, go on and fall in the line like the rest. Just be sure to keep up with the group and pay your share. Don't try to get ahead and don't even think about getting rich. Just stay right in the middle, yea thats it, right in the cozy cozy middle. Along with the rest it will be fabulous! Everyone can live the exact same life! Same salary! Same Healthcare! Same Taxes! Same Environment! Same Media! Same Mortgage Payment! Same Education! I can't wait to tell you I told you so.

Why are the Tea Party people getting SO much attention for crowds of 500-1000 people? There were anti-war protests with hundreds of thousands regularly!!

I was helping my son look for the source of a quotation, when i ran across this speech by Harry Truman in 1952 - keep that in mind - 1952. Here are a couple of portions of his speech. This is a somewhat long post, but the words are prophetic.

The Republicans are all set to try this "white is black" technique. And this is the way it will work. First of all, they will try to make people believe that everything the Government has done for the country is socialism. They will go to the people and say: "Did you see that social security check you received the other day—you thought that was good for you, didn't you? That's just too bad! That's nothing in the world but socialism. Did you see that new flood control dam the Government is building over there for the protection of your property? Sorry—that's awful socialism! That new hospital that they are building is socialism. Price supports, more socialism for the farmers! Minimum wage laws? Socialism for labor! Socialism is bad for you, my friend. Everybody knows that. And here you are, with your new car, and your home, and better opportunities for the kids, and a television set—you are just surrounded by socialism!"

Now the Republicans say, "That's a terrible thing, my friend, and the only way out of this sinkhole of socialism is to vote for the Republican ticket."

all the efforts of all the Republican politicians can't convince the people that this is socialism.

The next part of this "white is black" campaign is to try to make people believe that the Democratic Party is in favor of communism. That is an even tougher job than selling the socialism nonsense, but the Republicans are desperate, so they are going to try it.

    measures against communism.

I say to you in all seriousness, beware of those who pretend to be so violently anti-Communist in this country...

Here is the reason. To me, morality in government means more than a mere absence of wrongdoing. It means a government that is fair to all. I think it is just as immoral for the Congress to enact special tax favors into law as it is for a tax official to connive in a crooked tax return. It is just as immoral to use the lawmaking power of: the Government to enrich the few at the expense of the many, as it is to steal money from the public treasury. That is stealing money from the public treasury.

All of us know, of course, about the scandals and corruption of the Republican officeholders in the 1920's. But to my mind the Veterans' Administration scandals, in those days, and the Teapot Dome steal, were no worse—no more immoral—than the tax laws of Andrew Mellon, or the attempt to sell Muscle Shoals to private owners. Legislation that favored the greed of monopoly and the trickery of Wall Street was a form of corruption that did the country four times as much harm as Teapot Dome ever did.

Private selfish interests are always trying to corrupt the Government in this way. Powerful financial groups are always trying to get favors for themselves.

Now, the Democratic administration has been fighting against these efforts to corrupt the powers of Government. We haven't always won, but we have never surrendered, and we never will.

I am deeply frightened by George Bush and Barack Obama, they have both positioned America on the path for failure. The current administration has kicked things into overdrive. Look around folks, look at all of the ways the government is now set to be a part of your life. Are you truly comfortable forfeiting a significant portion of your personal freedom in the name of equality? Do you understand the ramifications of this endless government spending and borrowing? Also, Bush was represented as Hitler/the Devil etc. so many times during his administration I lost count. It was a consistent motif at all anti-Bush-WTO-War rallies. In fact, Roesgen wasn't terribly offended by posters of Bush with horns and fangs dripping with blood when she saw one up close during Katrina. The left is just as hypocritical as the right on these things.

China's State Reserves Bureau (SRB) has instead been buying copper and other industrial metals over recent months on a scale that appears to go beyond the usual rebuilding of stocks for commercial reasons. Nobu Su, head of Taiwan's TMT group, which ships commodities to China, said Beijing is trying to extricate itself from dollar dependency as fast as it can. "China has woken up. The West is a black hole with all this money being printed. The Chinese are buying raw materials because it is a much better way to use their $1.9 trillion of reserves. They get ten times the impact, and can cover their infrastructure for 50 years."

"The next industrial revolution is going to be led by hybrid cars, and that needs copper. You can see the subtle way that China is moving into 30 or 40 countries with resources," he said.

CARACAS, Venezuela — As Washington tries to rebuild its strained relationships in Latin America, China is stepping in vigorously, offering countries across the region large amounts of money while they struggle with sharply slowing economies, a plunge in commodity prices and restricted access to credit. In recent weeks, China has been negotiating deals to double a development fund in Venezuela to $12 billion, lend Ecuador at least $1 billion to build a hydroelectric plant, provide Argentina with access to more than $10 billion in Chinese currency and lend Brazil’s national oil company $10 billion. The deals largely focus on China locking in natural resources like oil for years to come.

Reagan returning to Washington - in bronze

The bumped sculpture of Thomas Starr King will be shipped to Sacramento for display in the state Capitol.
A 7-foot-tall likeness of the 40th president will replace Civil War era orator Thomas Starr King as one of California's two representatives in the Capitol's Statuary Hall.

After 78 years of standing in the Capitol, Thomas Starr King is about to be ousted by a better known Californian -- Ronald Reagan.

Susan R. is a CNN hack. She went to that tea party in Chicago arguing with a protester instead of reporting the news. She spuoted out a 500 billion dollar stimulus to argue with him. She just proved our point: 1.) the MSM is biased and 2.) the stimulus money is OUR money you stupid b@t$h. All you did was delegitamize your report and proved exactly what the people there where protesting against...a government out of control attempting to take over the economy and dictate how companies are run. That , my dear, is a facist state. We don't hate Obama, he is the president and if he said we had to go to war tomorrow, I may disagree but he is my president. That is what seperates us from liberals, we may disagree with his polocies but we still respect the constitution and the office of the presidency.

    Fascist as epithet
    Main article: Fascist (epithet)
Following World War II, the word fascist has become a slur throughout the political spectrum. In contemporary political discourse, some adherents of political ideologies on both the left and right wings of the political spectrum associate fascism with their political enemies, or define it as the opposite of their own views. Some argue that the term fascist has become hopelessly vague over the years and that it is now little more than a pejorative epithet. George Orwell wrote in 1944:

The word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley's broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else... almost any English person would accept ‘bully’ as a synonym for ‘Fascist’. – George Orwell, What is Fascism?. 1944".

Richard Griffiths argued in 2005 that the term fascism is the "most misused, and over-used word of our times".

Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

But seriously you don't believe it is socialism and you ARE WRONG. Young people in germany believed Hitler would rescue them from their problems. They were wrong. I am less interested in what you and 66% of americans believe to be true. Time will tell what the cost of moving from a society based on individual determinism, to a statist government.

What happened in Cuba though was they went from having nice houses, and a grwoing economy (though classes were significantly stratified) to a stagnant economy where they are still trying to keep cars from the 50s running, and anyone with the means to do so sneaks over to Florida for helth care (in spite of the universal health care established by Castro)

    Shawn,

Get ready to add another disappointment to the growing list of campaign promises that turn out to be lies. If you truly believe Barry Obummer can accomplish his political agenda AND cut taxes to 95% of Americans, then you deserve to be lied to. Nobody is living in a fox cocoon. (especially if there are posting on a political blog on the internet) it is simply a matter of looking at the numbers and figuring out where they are going to come from. Either we are going to borrow from other nations (called debt that passes down to future generations) or we will print more money (called inflation makes the $4 gas we were buying last summer look cheap) or we raise taxes on everyone. Hey if I believed Obama could do what he said he would do I would have voted for the guy, but the older I get the cost of naivete seems higher and higher.

This is not a FOX thing it is an economics thing. YOu either get it or you don't.
  • vkobaya · 7 months ago
YOu either get it or you don't.

Yeah, I get it. We just had eight years of the worst administration ever, greedy, criminal, incompetent, bigoted, hateful, lying, Constitution trampling, defecating on the Bill of Bights, violating our laws, stealing trillions of dollars while making the rest of the world hate America and you think that Obama is worse that Bush. Sigh! Obama is, at least, an intelligent, articulate, capable, adult leader who knows how to be a president. Bush was about as capable of leadership as a very bratty 4 year old. The only thing that saved us from Bush was he was too incompetent even to succeed in his primary objective, to become a depot, dictator and ruler for life.

Obama's objective is to restore us to the greatness we enjoyed prior to the dimbutt-in-chief.

I get it. You hate Obama because he is Black and you are a racist. Grow up!
  • kmsosky · 7 months ago
I love the fact that you had to add the racist comments at the end...it's like "I'm taking my ball and going home." Lame. Obama is a man....his skin is black, but he is a man. • Jinto Axe · 7 months ago
Ignoring their concerns is one thing, but it just sounds elitist for you to claim they don't live in "your America". This is probably the lowest point of CNN's credibility in their history as a news organization. The reporter is obviously distraught that others with a view different from hers is so damaging to America that she suggests families do not expose their children to it.

And you wonder why we call the media liberal... I think this clip shows it all.

Riiiiight, and the left didn't ooze hatred for Bush. How does it feel to be a complete hypocritical idiot?
  • lsoderman · 7 months ago
    Wow.

I'm teaching my 6-year old that because little Suzy does something wrong, it is not an excuse to do something wrong herself.

By your argument, since some on the left made inappropriate connections and references to the former president, then it's perfectly ok to do it back. Which, of course, fits perfectly with right-wing methodology.

I didn't like Bush. He was wrong-headed and worked to pull as much power to the presidency as he could, making it resemble a fledgling monarchy than an elected representative of the people. I disagreed with nearly all of his major policy decisions.

But I didn't call him a fascist, I didn't compare him to Hitler or Mussolini, or any other heinous, infamous character in history. And when people did, I found it offensive.

And I find this just as offensive. Just as I found those individuals during the campaigns offensive, the ones who used racial epithets and violent speech to express their views against Obama.

These events are designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator. They try to incite the base emotions by using convenient catchphrases. They don't want dialog, they don't want informed discussion. They wat name-calling and insult.

So please, at least use the judgment that I'm trying to instill in my 6-year-old. Don't defend inane, juvenile, uninformed actions by saying "well they did it first!"
  • Jeanette · 7 months ago
You're an idiot. I was at the Chicago Tea Party. Very civilized, actually. And I was afraid Acorn was going to try to disrupt things, as they had threatened to do.

You totally don't get it. You are right about one thing though, there are two Americas. The 'take care of me' America you feel cozy with, and the independent spirited Americans who recognize that government is a necessary evil that poses the greatest threat to our personal freedoms.

Susan Roesgen's behavior was unprofessional, and her comment about Fox news was fallacious. She seems offended that there would be a group of people who dare not agree with her point of view which was apparently that the state of Illinois was due to haul in some serious green over the stimulus racket (and who the hell cares where the green comes from) She wants the Plebes to just smile and get all weepy eyed that President Obummer and the rest of the beltway Pirates are going to shell out a share of the plunder.

Look the attack on Fox News as being Right wing is a little weak, primarily because it exposes that CNN is therefore on the opposite end of the spectrum (yeah I know duh!)

Now it all comes down to spin, You want to call anyone who thinks that spending trillions we don't have as an extremist. Why do I have to be an extremist for taking such a logical position. Please quit defining anyone that does not fall into your narrow political perspective as an extremist. I disagree with you. I am not violent. I did vote for George Bush. I am not 100% satisfied with the job he did. I did vote for John McCain, and I guarantee there would be a helluva lot of things he would have done that I would despise.

Get over yourself. An extremist is someone who supports violence as a political process. An extremist is someone who tries to tear down the status quo regardless of the outcome. Extremists are NOT the people that were gathered at protests today saying that the governemnt shouldn't spend money we don't have. Grow up broaden your horizons and practice some of the liberal open-mindedness, tolerance, and acceptance that you guys are supposed to be so good at. You guys are starting to sound paranoid like Hitler in his rants about 'international jewery' (Its all GOP fundamentalist zealots this time around)

Conservatives are educated....(the rush show has the highest level of college degree listeners of any commercial media program). Conservatives are armed and becoming more-so every day. Conservatives pay the bills of this country. Conservatives have a majority on the U.S. armed forces and they may just tell their children to turn on their enemies. Its important for conservatives to 1) cancel their liberal newspaper to put them out of their misery. 2) go to church (drives them crazy). 3) buy more guns and ammo....(see #2). 4) inform their military children about "potential senarios". 5) consider withholding tax revenue en-mass. 6) Do not buy american autos...put the unions out of business. 7) only support businesses with conservative ownership. Not very hard steps to destroy our liberal friends.
  • Ilene · 7 months ago
If conservatives are huge part of the armed forces then why did they support Obama 6 to 1 during the elections? Did you miss the crowd of troops in Iraq cheering Obama recently? I don't see how the tin foil hat wearing ilk going to church drives us crazy, it just means we less of them at Walmart when we go shopping on Sunday. Also, If conservatives are so educated then why do they deny scientific truths about global warming and sincerely believe humans walked with dinosaurs. Your idea of educated is myopic at best especially if you cannot see that the Republican brand is so shattered and has no real leader other than a fat talk show host. Please keep doing what you're doing and buy more guns and kill people in the name of Jesus and continue perpetuating the ridiculous rumor that Obama is going to take your guns away. You guys make yourselves look crazier each day.
  • John Galt · 7 months ago
You are really misinformed. Scientific truths about global warming? Are you serious? How much have YOU studied on this subject? If you have, you KNOW there is NO CONSENSUS in the scientific community at all on this subject; in fact more and more evidence is poring in that is refuting the pseudo science that claims to support a carbon based warming trend. Many panels of very serious and well respected scientists from many parts of the globe have refuted false findings put forth by Al Gore and his supporters. The real science indicates that there is a relationship between global temps and sun spot activity (think about it for a while..you know that huge glowing ball of radiation in the sky that warms the planet). The planet has gone through bouts of warming and cooling for thousands of years many different times before there was an industrial era, and before there was any carbon being released in the atmosphere. It warmed and cooled in cycle repeatedly.

If you were serious about this subject you would investigate this and not just watch some faux horror movie put together by a failed politician who knows next to nothing about it. Much of what he claims as fact has shown to be incorrect, or taken out of context. His facts are often not really facts. I suggest you go back and read news clipping from the early part of the 19th century and you will be shocked to read about how the ice on the north pole was melting away back then to its thinnest level ever.....oh how shocking! Your lack of intellectual honesty on this issue is typical of most liberals. This issue is really just about power and control. The desire of the govt to seize more control and power where it has no right to do so. Do some more reading and get educated or stay a stupid liberal......

The administration is hostile to the constitutional place of the government being subservient to the individual and the states. The constitution is pro-gun, pro speech, anti-tax, pro small goverment, pro de-centralization, anti-regulation. The individual is paramount, goverment is secondary. The constitution is a radical document and it has created the greatest nation because it recognizes the inevitable corruption of the power of centralization. The other systems have been tried and they all fail. People who believe in increased centralization are foolish, sophomoric, weak and will be dicated to.

And that is not a problem, LOOK at all cnn reports in the past saying BUSH is facist?!?! not that I like Bush 100%, it is the point that CNN board backs her, yet they are the only ones allow to bash presidents they dont like, and the general public who does not have their beliefs is cut off and called right wing beliefs???

This is just what I have seen, CNN can dish it out but can not swollow the fact the Americans have beliefs different then theirs.

SO LETS THAT IT TO THIS LEVEL FROM OBAMA
"Every American will be heard!" yet CNN cuts them off.

SO sad CNN is filter the voice of the countrys opinions either be good, bad, nasty or nice!
Now I heard CNN to the twitter over? is that true? they are not into journalism, they want to be able to brain wash the public by throughing out only their view points at the young public with propoganda points of view.

I would expect this type of comment from an anti gunner type like you. You, sir, are the one removed from what America looks like. We are sick and tired of this govt. run amok and spending way beyond its means and putting out future and future generations at risk with this ridiculous out of control spending. We believe ion liberty and in freedom and in the Constitution (and particularly in the 2nd Amendment by the way...the right to bear arms). You hand gun control facists will never understand freedom loving people.
  • Kevin · 7 months ago
Ok so since you love freedom and the constitution...what does the patriot act have to do with any of that?
  • John Galt · 7 months ago
WHat does that have to do with what we are talking about? Typical liberal ...deflect. The issue is the boorish behavior of a CNN reporter. Anyone who watched would agree. Many Americans are fed up with the govt taxing and spending and spending way beyond our means. We are not talking about the Patriot act. If you want to open up another thread do so. NAd then we can talk about Constitutional issue; I suspect ytou know you have a loser issue hear so you have to deflect. Typical liberal Can't stay on point and actually argue the merits of this case. Stay on this one junior and take your beating. Obama is a amateur and we can see how ii prepared he is to be President. He knows next to nothing about the economy and about business having had virtually no experience himself; he think that public service is where it is at. Well; news flash...the private sector is what pays the bills Mr President, so get your head out of your ass, and get the govt out of our way and stop spending so much and lower our taxes and stop spending money you do not have.
  • Brian · 7 months ago
Well Obama's not a fascist. That part is correct. He's a Leninist. he believes that everyone will only be happy when the government is able to provide for them completely, as long as that government is controlled by ONE party, his own party. that way they have total control of the people's lives. that will never work, but "intellectuals" seem to love the idea. I mean this administration could barely handle 4 africans in a rowboat. why dont we let them handle our health care too!

If portraying Obama as Hitler is offensive (it is) it should have been equaly offensive when your coolAid drinkers on the left portrayed Bush as Hitler as well on the pages of MoveOn and elswhere.

Come on guys. Politics aside this is terrible reporting and CNN should not condone of reporting, if you can call it that, like this. I don't care if you love Obama or loathe him this isn't about that, it’s about the manner in which a reporter, from the "world news leader", conducted herself live on air. This was terribly prejudice and horrendously unprofessional. I get it CCN=Liberal, FOX=Conservative, but the bias on this report was unconceivable. Its one thing to have a slant but this is full blown prejudice. This is the same lady who called a man wearing a Bush mask with a Hitler stash a "Bush look-a-like". These people aren't extremist and they are not anti-American, they are protester. They are exercising their first and most important right as an American, and that is the right to free speech and assembly. Truly what is the difference between these people and the anti-war protesters of the bush era besides the cause? Love it or hate it this is bad reporting and looks poorly on the CNN network.

Funny commentary, Joe, coming as it does from a guy who probably called Bush "Hitler" for eight years.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Obama IS a fascist -- he's trying to take over every major private industry, he's stealing money to, by his own admission, "spread around" to groups he deems more worthy, he wants to install his citizen army of Brown Shirts, he's issuing phony official government reports calling those who oppose his radical agenda "dangerous extremists," he's stealing the census from the commerce department to help consolidate his power, and he's going to shut down his opposition on talk radio the first chance he gets.

    Seig Heil!

Nancy Pelosi said yesterday that this was a bunch of rich peolple that were doing the Tea Parties. She is so out of touch with reality it is scarry!

I voted for Barrack Obama and support him as our president, but I don't agree with all of his policies which is my right.

The Tea Parties yesterday were not about taxes but about a US government (Congress) that is totally out of control. I blame Republicans and Democrats for where we are today and the debt our kids will be saddled with. The only way that the debt will able to come down is to raise taxes on all of us, that will happen soon.

In regards to Susan Roesgen she is a commentator not a reporter. A reporter is someone that just reports the facts and lets the viewer decide. She obviously had made up her mind what the Tea Party was about and really was totally clueless and it shows. CNN need to identify her as such.

    People.

Most of the comments being made on this board are being made by the same simpleton using different names.

Stop responding. You are wasting your time.

If you keep speaking truth to idiocy, he/she or both is going to have a stroke.

For the sake of this idiot/moron quit responding.

I don't understand a single friggin word of anything he just said. Is there someone here to translate?
  • santa49 · 7 months ago
Susan Roesgen is not a reporter - a reporter reports news - she is trying to make news using half truths and misleading comments. This was not a protest by Right Wingers and Fox News, this was a protest by the common American who is afraid of spending gone wild. Our taxes may not go up this year but soon someone is going to have to pay for the trillions of dollars this administration is spending and giving away.
  • tvtech77 · 7 months ago
Susan Roesgenn Asked the question to the man and would not let him answer. So I think that the crowd was not so much anti-CNN but more anti-her she looked like she did not want to be there and report the news she wanted to MAKE the news and be confrontational I am truly disgusted with her poor attempt at Journalism
  • tvtech77 · 7 months ago
Nancy Pelosi thinks that the tea parties were started by rich people that are out of touch. If anyone is out of touch with reality it is all of the idiots that are currently in congress they are the ones that don't have a clue. She thinks that blaming the rich will bring her power. Just remember that she IS the Rich and when was the last time she had to work for a living

"But, of course, there is nothing at all wrong with the trillions that Bush stole, embezzled, wasted and blew on a criminal, unnessasary war. To say nothing about the millions of innocent human beings that Bush murdered because he is so bigoted as to think that Muslims and Arabs don't deserve to live or the thousand plus who died in New Orleans because Bush is also bigoted against Blacks"
I dont know who the he** you think you are but i have not read so much Bull droppings in a while. Yes I can understand outrage about going to what you think was an unlawfull war but when you can't do anything but impune the former Pres. and blame him for the current mess remeber his administration warned congress about the lending mess in 2001 and the Congress did NOTHING so your beloved Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, and any other obstructionist who did not want to fix anything so the hated administration could be blamed. So it would give them the chance to grab POWER. You don't even want to get me started on New Orleans. Yey lets blaime Bush for the fact the the City is below sea level and they DID NOT have an evacuation plan and they knew that the levies would not hold after huricane Andrew and they did nothing. Now lets talk about the Prince among men Mayor Nagin who after the blaim game made the infamous comment about rebuilding a "chocolate New Orleans" NOW who is the Racist. So in conclusion there is enough Blaim to go around on all of Goverment not just one party. So vote for the person and NOT the Party and our Great Nation will see its way through any and all hard times.
  • angie9006 · 7 months ago
Susan Roesgen proves the point that mainstream media has no clue about real Americans or do they really care. She talked about the tax breaks we are getting and the billions the state is gettting from the govermnet. Where does she think the goverment is getting this money from? And does she not know that when we file next years yax returns we will have to pay more according to the new tax charts my taxman received from the goverment.

tvtech77 Wah? What a bunch of bunk you spew. Venture out son.....listen to someone other than Olberman and maybe you'll get a clue. You're a total moron......and I think you know it. You have no idea what you're talking about. You're the bigot. You're an absolute bigot. You have nothing else to offer except your bigoted rhetoric.
Thousands died in New Orleans? What? You're a liar. If you choose to embrace your crap thats fine...... but most of us know the truth and at least derive our ideas from the facts and not BS lies that you've chosen to waller in.
    Grow up.

    Missed opportunities:

With the smashing success of CNN and MSNBC's running "teabagging" jokes, it's a great shame they didn't think of "tossing the salad" for the illegal alien fieldworker protests.

Remember when CNN used to use the voice of James Earl Jones saying, "This is CNN," to project gravitas? How's that gravitas working out for you now?
  • tvtech77 · 7 months ago
Ha HA good post but isn't sad that the only time MSMBC and CNN can get anything close to good ratings now is when they are trying to diminish an actual movement. In a small town of maybe 3000 people near where I live there were over 500 people at their tax day tea party. I would have to say that None of the people there were "Pelosi Rich".
  • tvtech77 · 7 months ago
The first paragraph was a quote that I was responding to. Personally I think that Olberman is a rude pompous windbag who needs to get smacked upside the head. Now regarding your name calling toward me NOTHING I wrote could be misconstrued as bigoted unless your name is either Pelosi, Reid, or Dodd. About New Orleans yes it is sad that people died but blaming the Federal Government for the response is just ridiculous. It is the State and Local government's responsibility to have and implement evacuation plans. If you don't believe the army corp of engineers report after Hurricane Andrew that the levees would not hold anything over category 2, I don't know what to tell you. As Jack Webb used to say "It's just the facts, ma'am." So Kim80920, the next time you want to call someone a bigot, please take the time to read the WHOLE post. Thanks.

I noticed back in 2006 Mrs. Roesgen was at a protest in which someone portrayed Bush as a cross between Satan and Hitler. I also noticed Mrs. Roesgen had no problem with it and called it a "Bush look-a-like." This is fantastic. I don't think I have ever seen the left so worried that American Citizens are waking Us to their Democratic-extreme leftist BS.
