Geez. That's bad even for MSNBC. But I'm surprised only that they pulled the ad.

I am sure this will go over well with the locals. No wonder they are planning for at least a hundred occupation. I wonder how this will go over with US troopz??

By the time they get through their redeployments, they'll be as old as McCain.

I guess what history teaches about empires and how they crumple must be of little concern.

I do not know who or what genetically removed human fangs, fur, tail and claws and thought we were no longer animals.
But it needs to go back to the drawing board because humans are as savage now as we ever have been....
And are as savage as any of the most savage animals left on earth, that we have not KILLED OFF!

1,000,000+ innocent Iraqis lost their lives. 4,000,000+ became refugees. Thousands were tortured, imprisoned. Sewage is running in the streets of Bahgdad, etc, etc. 8,000,000+ Americans are now on the "Terrorist Watch List". Our constitution has been trashed. Our Bill of Rights trashed. All for the precious oil of Iraq.

I hope future generations condemn us all for the cowards that we are.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Iraq has enough oil to last the world another 100 years, apparently. They know. I think it has much more than Saudi Arabia and Iran combined, by the way they act.
  • red_dwarf · 1 year ago
Some argue their reserves are larger then Saudi Arabia, who knows. It is however low sulfur oil and so much more cheap to process - so as far as quality goes it is the best in the world.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
I suspect the reason that Bush invaded Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia was that they had some incriminating bedroom footage of of Bush and certain members of the House of Saud...very big members.

We Won! We Won! The US wins the war with Iraq! Hoooraaaaayyyy!!!! We got the oil contracts! Sure, it's not much yet, but it puts us in a terrific position against the rest of the int'l competitors! god bless our troops and god bless america - we win again! yaaayyyy
  • red_dwarf · 1 year ago
After trashing and polluting the Niger delta and leaving the locals in abject poverty I guess it's time to move on. The Iraqis would be fools to let their most precious resource fall into the hands of fascist corporations. <joke>To bad they don't have a democracy - if they did they could get their representatives to fight for them. </joke>

back around 1963, a young Saddam Hussein came to power in Iraq, supported by the CIA. He didn't quite pan out...tried to keep all the oil to himself among other things, threatened to kill shrub's poppy...so now he's dead. And back we go for the oil.

    dum dee dum dum.

oh, i mean, let freedom reign!

Not to mention that these were NO-BID contracts...in an emerging country that can use every buck they can get...

Also, invading Afghanistan had nothing to with building pipelines.
