. I think they were going for the subconscious assumption on the part of most Americans today that Obama is an honest man. In Alaska, no one will be able to tell the difference between Powell and Obama.

Powell's whole career is a lie. Remember, he was the first one to cover up the My Lai Massacre. It was all downhill from there, and was capped by his lying to the UN. His testimony means nothing.

Exactly nicho - Powell knew damn well Scareface was a liar and that his evidence of mobile bioweapons labs was horse manure. Powell is a liar, and his reputation has NO credibility. He chose to trash his legacy for the benefit of a few. Obama should completely disengage with Powell. Getting rid of the criminals of the 1950s and 1960s should be priority in Obama's new cabinet.

Colin Powell the character witness for all. Colin takes his pieces of gold and does what he is asked. He gamed the system for personal gain. He got his son the Head of FTC job and he deregulated and allowed the major radio and tv networks to buy up all the independents. The same Powell who showed fake pictures of a trailer making chemical weapons. The same Powell who allowed the troops to go into battle without flack jackets. The same Powell who didn't require armored vehicles for his troops. The same Powell who didn't have the forces trained for urban warfare. The same Powell who showed the pictures of WMD. The same Powell who didn't have the integrity and ethics to say NO to Bush and Rice and Rumsfeld and Cheney when they told him to lie. The same Powell who wrote a book to absolve himself of responsibility but took the millions in advances. Yeah, please have this lying, opportunist vouch for someone. He had no qualms in lying to the world for Shrub so lying for Stevens will only cost a plane ticket and a salmon dinner.

Is there any respect for Powell left? I there is, those people are McCain supporters. I lost respect for him years ago when he was used by Bush and he did nothing about it. Where has he been, when his budy McCain is calling Obama a terrorist? I call Powell unpatriotic for not coming out against his budy.

Actually, Powell didn't investigate My Lai. He was, in the same time period, investigating a similiar crime in the same Division area. He blew it off saying it couldn't have happened because American soldiers are just too nice to do such things. How wrong he was then and how wrong he is now.

Colin Powell's record as a boot-licker in the Republican Party is well known. He has done what he's been told all of his career and seems not to care about his reputation. Surely, his endorsement of Sen. Stevens is more of the same. He knows, as does the entire country , that Stevens has disgraced the Senate by his underhanded dealings. Stevens, long-supported by MsPalin, is typical of what is so wrong in government. He's a poster-boy for corruption.
