    Very cool!

    Congrats to Polis.

Colorado elected a queen. You go boy. I am proud of you.

Get on in the congress and make this country a better place.

You might want to ask Piper Palin for some tips to help smooth down that cowlick first, though.

Polis has been involved in education in Colorado for many years. He is a competent individual and I hope will do well. However, he only could have won this district (my district) because it encompasses one of the most progressive areas in Colorado. I am so proud of my district that his sexual preference was NEVER brought up as an issue - not during the primaries or during the general election.

    Cool..

But that phrase "the sixth open gay ...." - Uck! I hate the use as a noun.

When that other twit carried on about ".... the gay, the disabled ..." and you (John) and Rachel Maddow both commented on it, I didn't find that grating, as its use can be interpreted as an adjective. The distinction between "He is a gay.." and "He is gay."

Just what naturally grates on me.

Unfortunately, he did spend a shitload of money on the primary. His own money. He may be gay, but sorry folks, he bought the election. I agree with all of his stated policies, but . . .

When the money is coming into your side, we get pretty quiet about campaign reform.

Did Jared buy the election? Certainly. But let's face it, if Jared needed my money to win, I would have given it to him. I've met him, and he's a good man. I'm proud that he's my representative. And I'll be proud when he's my senator, too. He has a bright future, and I wish him well.
