AMERICAblog: Common Cause calls out McCain on his campaign finance scam

    good morning

    McCain's Elusive Medical Records

Reporters started asking for medical records months ago. First, McCain’s aides said they’d release the information in March. Then, without explanation, they changed the date to April. Then, again without explanation, they changed the date to May.

CNN reported yesterday, “The McCain campaign said Wednesday the Arizona senator’s medical records will no longer be released by April 15. They now say the new timetable is ’sometime in May.’”

    Good Morning Grandma
Again thank you for an excellent link! It would appear that Insane McCain's medical records are in the same boat as Hillary's tax returns. If they contain nothing bad, why not release them?
But more than the tax returns the easy-going MSM need to start pressing McCain for those North Vietnamese record regarding his time there that he so studiously took pains to have closed! Now there is some real information being concealed. The very fact he got them closed would suggest more to his collaboratation than has been acknowledged. The MSM needs to pursue these and other elements of McCain's very questionable past and bring them to light. I've never heard of a collaborator who was a real "war-hero." and I sure as hell don't believe Insane McCain was one either.

Hey now - you can't expect the "straight talkin'" press to risk losing out on another barbecue invitation just to report some minor political snafu like possible lawbreakin'...especially from the media's chosen candidate.

Why, those reporters didn't even mosey over from the "cabin" after eatin' and drinkin' with the McCain's all day to check out his Baptist church.

When the abuses at Abu Ghraib became public, we were told these were the depraved actions of a few soldiers. The Yoo memo makes it chillingly apparent that senior officials authorized unspeakable acts and went to great lengths to shield themselves from prosecution.

So anyone knows when exactly we can expect to see Hillary's elusive tax returns?

    OT:

More than 1,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen either refused to fight or simply abandoned their posts during the inconclusive assault against Shiite militias in Basra last week, a senior Iraqi government official said Thursday. Iraqi military officials said the group included dozens of officers, including at least two senior field commanders in the battle.

Of these Iraqi soldier and commanders who abandoned their posts cause the going got rough, how many has PM Maliki had shot or hung for desertion?? Bush and co got us in there fighting and dying in a civil war for a nation of cowardly pussies who aren't willing to fight for their own country. If Bush and co had ANY intestinal fortitude of their own, they would acknowledge they were wrong, that they failed, and start getting US troops and their materiel OUT of there beginning yesterday, as the american public have been telling them for over a year. Here's a hard saying: The Iraqis, of any stripe, are not worth the powder to blow them to hell. So lets get out and leave them to their own foolishness and stop having our boys and girls blown to hell in their place. Anything else condemns the administration AND the congress that has enabled it to the same boat: Not worth the powder to slow them to hell which is increasingly the case.

i'm sure McMakeMe is concocting an oh-so-reasonable way of explaining all this...

it'll be something along the lines of "so?"
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Meanwhile, will Clinton release her tax returns today as promised?

McCrazy needs to be leaned on--heavily.

And BTW, when will this house of cards collapse, as it almost did recently?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_default_swap

In 1995, J.P. Morgan's Blythe Masters (a 26-year old Cambridge University graduate hired by the bank), developed the first Credit Default Swaps and Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO). On April 2, 2007, Masters (who by then was the head of J.P. Morgan's Global Credit Derivatives group), helped introduce CreditWatchTM to help evaluate credit swaps among other financial instruments.

By the end of 2007 there were an estimated USD 45 trillion worth of Credit Default Swap contracts.[2]

Masters is now CFO of JPMorgan and a Clinton supporter...

    BTW...
I'm sure Rachel Maddow will be talking about this tonight.

Rachel will be substituting for Keith Olbermann tonight on COUNTDOWN.

She'll be doing the whole show!

CNN reported this morning McCain returned 3 million (missed the reason given) and now is saying he will take public financing if Barack does. WTF?
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
HereinDC, excellent! Might be a tryout for her own show? MSNBC obviously knows which way the wind is blowing...

McCain can't run his campaign competently including financing it legally -- it tells you a lot about him as a manager.

Supporting him would be like going into business with Enron AFTER you had examined their books and seen their accounting practices. Republicans seem happy to do it.

The Shill is even worse than McCain. She seems to be taking points from her adulterous husband who tapped into Chinese slush funds. Drudgereport also has a new story how Hillary lied AGAIN on the Jay Leno show about Bosnia. The Clintons are frauds! http://vote-billary.funnypart.com/

    "anyone in the traditional media"

It is not just traditional media. Take a look at this enabling McCain loving story from Talking Points Memo this morning.

"McCain Returning General Election Checks, In Preparation For Public Finance"

"John McCain is now returning contributions totaling $3 million that were raised for the general election, in preparation for opting into the public finance system — a sign that he will not be attempting to privately raise the millions he would need to go up against the Democratic nominee, but which he has had trouble getting on his own.

Instead, the man known for campaign finance reform is asking his contributors to write checks to a new fund — a fund set up to help him pay legal fees and other expenses in his dealings with the public finance system."

Who cares... the old man is just a placeholder!

Besides he a republican bush want to be and thus he cheats... would we expect less from any republican...no!

Lastly, it's Obama's to lose and that's not going to happen because the people are not going to stand for it!

Does McCain have cancer? Will his vice president end up running the United States? Are we really voting for McCain’s vice during this next election? McCain has a lot of questions to answer. Will McCain commit fraud and submit false health records?

Will voters see the danger in not knowing the true state of McCain’s health?

I just finished watching McCain Speak today on Martin Luther King Day, 2008.
(The spin progresses as I write, so let me put my take down now.)

It was hard to miss the irony of McCain speaking on this day, in Memphis, at the very site of King's murder.
And seeing him on that balcony felt, well, just plain WRONG!

Oh yes, He admitted he was wrong and apologized about being against the MLK National Holiday back then, but he says he came to realize it, albeit too LATE.
....and while he said all the right things about Martin Luther, he also comes out of the very America that killed King, figuratively speaking.
    Now that he would NON-figuratively send more men to be killed in the Middle East quagmire if elected, we must ask;
Are we to wait as long for him to realize he's also wrong about this war?

I can understand your wanting to hammer on this issue John, but mccain is above the law and the repugs know it. None of this matters I'm afraid.

Not to say I don't enjoy your coverage of this. You are one of the few that gives a shit about it.
