AMERICAblog: Confirmation from Senate Intel. Committee (finally): Bush lied about Iraq

  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Um, Isn't lying under oath when you're the President an impeachable offence? Just sayin'...
  • PeteWa · 1 year ago
Lied us into war, Nancy, think about setting that table you tool.
A war where his buddies have made gobs upon gobs of money.
A war where tens of billions of our tax dollars go "unaccounted for".
What more do you need to finally see the High Crimes and Misdemeanors?

Oh, and by the way, you spineless enabler, after you set the table, think about a good date to send him to the Hague.

I remember thinking that the Downing Street Memo would bring about the downfall of the Bush Administration.
  • PeteWa · 1 year ago
I remember being pissed that so many fell for the "Memo" frame provided by the Repukes.
There was no Downing Street Memo
    it was the:

    DOWNING STREET MINUTES

The actual, recorded, official NOTES from the very real meeting.

Simply stated, there is no doubt that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz and Rice are lying sacks of shit.

    They are also War Criminals.

"Republican Senators fought very hard to prevent the release of this intel report back in 2004 to insure Bush's re-election." Wrong, wrong, wrong. Who were they fighting against? Those Democrats who were determined to make sure the truth got out? No. In 2004, the Senate Intelligence Committee was chaired by Pat Roberts (R-KS), who always knows which side of his bread is buttered - and by whom. Please Joe, retract and denounce that statement.

If I may paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt (whom more Republicans could stand to emulate)...

NOW MAY WE PLEASE HAVE IMPEACHMENT???????????

impeachment hearings now. the conviction of this would not allow bush to hold political office again. it would set right the wrong that gerald ford did when he pardoned nixon. impeach these fools now. have the vote the day after the november election. this has to happen to heal this country of all the death and destruction that bush has caused to all american family's. do it but do it now. thanks and have a nice day.
add cheney to that also, thanks

The Democrats can begin the healing process by getting rid of our own Republicans.

I think it's important to mention that all of us Liberal Bloggers became bloggers because we searched out the truth! We knew what was going on, but couldn't prove it! It's because of the Blogs like Americablog that half this nation was able to keep their saniity! Being able to learn the truth from pioneers like John Aravosis, Markos and Duncan Black, has been a true Godsend! At the very time that we were all so desparate to communicate with someone, anyone who knew as we did, that our country was being hijacked, the Blogs found us and we found the Blogs. I swear all you original Blogs deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, for your unmeasureable contribution to this Nation! By the way, the other half of the Nation has shrunk to just 25% today. They became brainwashed Fox News tools, and are all beyond rescuing!

... but of course this report will be regarded as merely a partisan smear attempt in an election year.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
I get sick to my stomach when I think of the death and destruction brought on by those lies.
  • nashcountync · 1 year ago
Put impeachment back on the table Nancy. Or go on national television and admit you're a worthless POS. Your call.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
And yet those bastards just get to go on with their lives and are treated like special citizens.
  • luvboxer · 1 year ago
My God they impeach Clinton for a blow job...this is way worse. Bush needs to be put on trial for war crimes and then impeached..Anybody that votes for any republicans in this election in nuts.
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
Enough already - Americans and Iraqis have DIED because of these assholes ruining our country....they MUST be tried!
  • stranded · 1 year ago
As much as I'd like to see justice done here, I can also see that there might be some reason to the madness behind Pelosi's decision not to proceed with impeachment. Certainly, when she'd be the one to become president it would be something the right would latch onto as looking like a power grab. And the air of ill feelings would affect the election of more Dems to all positions of power. I don't like it, but I think that U.S. voters are just gullible enough to be swayed by that. I mean, look who's gotten elected twice. I just hope that after they're out of power, Bush and company will be prosecuted and jailed for the rest of their miserable lives.
  • kladinvt · 1 year ago
Let the tribunals begin! And when they're over, off to Gitmo with the lot of them...that or just drop them all outside the Green Zone in bright orange jumpsuits!
    It's ACCOUNTABILITY TIME!

Aided and abetted by the conservative echo chamber, John McCain this week launched a campaign to rewrite his dismal history of faulty forecasts and disastrous predictions on Iraq. Demonstrating that experience is truly no substitute for judgment, John McCain like President Bush was sadly wrong at almost every turn in promoting the invasion and occupation of Iraq. From his predictions of a short war and claims U.S. troops would be greeted as liberators to his announcements of mission accomplished, his ongoing confusion over friend and foe in Iraq and so much more, McCain's is an unbroken legacy of error.

    For the details, see:
"McCain and Friends Rewrite History on Iraq."

I find no comfort in the fact that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and John Conyers..played "politics" to win elections, while allowing so many more of our troops and the Iraqi civilians to die for their political ambitions...it's obscene, criminal...and it is still going on...they should be held accountable too
  • High Crimes & Misdemeanors · 1 year ago
So what are they gonna do about it?? We know reid and pelosi won't do a got'damn thing....

I'm sure alot of us have been saying this since the beginning. Now we have the tools of the oligarchy finally saying what we've been saying forever....

.... and people think we still live in a democracy.... totally laughable.

Why bother? America abandoned Rule of Law some time back in favour of Rule of Bribery/Blackmail.

Wait till the bums are out of office, declare them to be enemy combatants and ship them off to one of the CIA's prison ships. Waterboard frequently--it's not torture, after all.

No need for trials, lawyers or hearings.
