I mean seriously, what did anyone expect? Everything this loser has touched has turned to shit. I wouldn't have trusted him to run a lemonade stand.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Yes Deacon_Blues, I think you put it most succinctly: "Everything this loser has touched has turned to shit." And the most annoying thing is it appears that America has no apparent way of bringing Dubya and his evil henchmen to justice and meting out the capital punishment they so richly deserve.
We can only try to survive through the Bush/Republicon Depression with our Bushdollars damnming them all each and every day.

not a great economy to own a travel agency :-(

or anything else that relies on people having a surplus of cash to spend on entertainment.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I knew running an economy on credit would catch up to us eventually.

I was just worried Bush was going to get out of office before the house of cards came down.

    Guess not. Yippee!

Of course another way to look at it, and the Republicans will certainly point this out, is that this actually a result of the Democratic Congresse's refusal to renew the tax cuts and anti-business rhetoric, which helped create the stock market panic, and lowered the general confidence. How is promising to radically increase taxes with universal health care going to improve the general confidence?

As to the dropping dollar, every expert concedes that this is a function of the American addiction to oit, aggravated by competition for its purchase from China and India. What exactly has the Democratic Congress done or proposed about this, or for that matter, what exactly have Obama or Clinton (or McCain for all of that) proposed on this beyond the usual rhetoric that never means anything? Personally, I sold the SUV last fall, and bought a four-cylinder sedan, maybe we need to follow President Jimmy Carter's advise from back in the 1970s and cut our consumer expectations, and stop being so selfish by mortgaging our country for our own short-term comfort and convenience for future generations to pay off. In other words, instead of bitching in a blog, and leaving it to the politicians (who donothing), and whinning about how expensive our trip to Europe is, how about all of us actually doing something and actually sacrifcing a bit for the common good?

    Yes, Bumpkis:

Here's an item from HuffPo on Al Sadr seemingly getting ready to resume military activities:

    What happened to you guys?

I remember when Repubs liked balanced budgets.

Now you're just as irresponsible at home as you are in Iraq.

vegasbaby ... from the kos article:

"Why would some conservatives abandon our cherished American values and seemingly opt to embrace and protect an immigrant (Gasp!) cult leader who reportedly states -- at times almost as if straight from bin Laden's mouth -- that America is 'rotten' or a 'Satanic' playground? The answer is as simple as it is revolting: this is no obscure former pastor or present day spiritual adviser to influential, mainstream conservative politicians and pundits, he's a billionaire: he buys them."

I couldn't comment on kos for some reason... so I thought I'd wander a bit off topic to address the above paragraph from the article.

Is it just me? or are the neo neocons really intent on destroying everything you can recognise as American? Bill of rights? Constitution? Federal government?

I think kos took the easy road in saying that rev. moon BUYS the repugnicans... yes, he does... by its a means to the same end. they don't like our way of life either.

I'm convinced that they'd rather have an American caste system, with themselves and their peers at the top... and the rest of us never able to join them. Democracy stands in the way of that, so they have to get rid of it.

this is starting to become more and more obvious... in fact, I'd even go as far as to say that Iraq didn't accomplish what they wanted... and they WILL attack Iran. Why? they WANT another attack on American soil (or several more), scared sheep will conform to their plan.

This country's future hasn't been in such peril since we declared our independence from Britain.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
And, you know, if you're going to argue non-facts, I'd say Bush's pro-war rhetoric killed the economy.

How confident are people when they know Bush is going to attack Russia and Iran?
