AMERICAblog: Consumer confidence hits 26 year low

  • Mischa G · 1 year ago
Yet no matter how low my consumer confidence gets, it'll never be as low as my confidence in the mechanics of the electoral process.

"vegasbaby" provided a link in the "Rush Limbaugh" thread down below to complain to the Colorado Attorney General about Rush Limbaugh trying to incite riots at the Democratic Convention. The very least we, as concerned citizens, can do is complain and demand he be prosecuted:

Rush is obviously back on the Oxycontin.

Rice hoarders. Flour stashers. Payday-loan growers. Five-dollar-bill swindlers. No, you haven't entered a time machine. It's all just the past week in the good ol' U.S. of A. "It's fascinating; I don't recall anything like this in modern food-retailing and supermarket history in the U.S.," Benjamin Senauer, co-director of the University of Minnesota's Food Industry Center told the Chicago Tribune. "You have to go back to World War II to see this." Welcome to WWII and Friday Financials, folks! Here, light shines from the end of the time-warp tunnel.

In another sign of the struggling times, blogger Caveat Emptor notices there's a new Payday America is going up on Eat Street in Minneapolis. Like pawn shops, payday loan outlets are seeing a major uptick in business as the economy slumps.

    • AT&T is catching heat this week for charging its customers a $2 "administrative fee" for paying their phone bills at an AT&T store. The Red Tape Chronicles says these types of extra charges are fleecing the 10 to 12 million Americans who don't have bank accounts. The good news? These customers are "lucky," according to one AT&T employee. Because the administrative fee is now going up to five bucks.

The MSN article is really about how Hillary has destroyed the Democratic Party. With McCain rising in the polls and Hillary continueing her racist attacks against Obama, the outlook is bleak. The article argues that Obama should just run in 2012 after McCain has driven us into a depression. The Democratic Party has been weakened by corrupt cronies like the Clintons: http://www.slate.com/blogs/blogs/trailhead/arch...

Things were bad then, they're bad now. In 1982 we were in the throes of the Reagan Depression. He did what he could to undo the safety net that was in place. It's remarkable how even today there are people who claim he was a good president. He was the Altzheimer's President who opened the gates for the flood of incompetence we see today. Even now, there are people praying to St. Ronald Reagan, dedicating roads and airports to his name, and loudly shouting about what a wonderful job he did.

Anyone else notice that the economy began to go into the toilet just after a Democratic Congress was elected in 2006? Coincidence? I think not. What have Democrats ever done to make businesses more profitable, or people with money to invest and grow the economy more secure? Promise to raise taxes for a bunch of unnecessary pork and social programs? I think not. Elect a Democrat, invite a depression, end of story.

Why does this site return to the beginning when one has read this blog down for many pages and is in the middle of reading a story when without warning the screen goes blank and the face page appears? This does not happen on any of the other blogs I read daily and there are many. I hesitate to log on to your blog anymore. Drina

Every time a new bad statistic comes out the previous worst numbers were during a repuke administration. I've noticed this a lot lately.
