Could you all shoot some video of cable nooz anchors and producers briefing and debriefing broadcasts? All Grills aside, this behind the scenes hammering of criticisms and angles would be informative...Plus, the networks have nothing to hide...Do they??? (blink, blink)

I was disappointed that Carter didn't speak. MSNBC kept saying "Carter to speak soon", then all we got was some B.S. on the floor commentary. Bummer. Kennedy looked great though. Not all red in the face as usual. Caroline did a great job introducing him too. Those pictures they showed of John and Bobby - humongous loss for America.

Last night when I briefly switched from C-span to CNN, Gloria Borger was speculating that Carter didn't speak because of his views on Israel/Palestine, saying that anything he might say could hurt Dems. She clearly suggested that Carter was most likely asked not to speak. To his credit, one of the other talkingheads said that at a previous convention Carter had likewise chosen not to speak.

They just pull this stuff out of the air.

The coverage by C-Span is the way to go. I am commenting where I can that people should boycott CNN, FUX etc. But maybe that is some people's idea of "fun" or, God forbid, wisdom.

I wish Carter had spoken too, but at least the Democrats are no longer making a pariah out of him which irked me to hell. The problems of the Carter years pale along side of what we have now, he had a major accomplishment in the Middle East during his presidency, and since leaving office, he has become one of our few living national treasures with his humanitarian work.

I also wish Carter had spoken and I agree that he is a treasure.

Those who watch MSM make me believe that they can't think on their own. They seem to need pundits to explain things, even if what the talkingheads say is ridiculous. It's beyond me to understand why anyone would allow this crap into their lives.

    thanks Chris!

All the plugs for CNN in the snapshots. Watch C-Span and boycott the commercial cables and networks. There are no interruptions for advertising, interviews by David Gregory, and inane comments by the likes of James Carville and that over-rated David Gergen. You are watching pure convention and can form your own opinions which matter more.

This morning, on KPFK's Uprising, Sonali pointed out the tremendous presence of women, Blacks, Hispanics and Orientals at the Democratic convention. Wonder what the Republican convention will show? Maybe they won't allow the cameras to pan the attendees, everything will take place in the studios with talking heads covering-up for the lack of diversity at that convention. I still deplore Obama for being a moderate corporate candidate, but he is well to the left of McCain/Bush/Cheney/Rove Republicans who are revolted by the diversity seen in Denver. Yes, Obama has made strides toward that "Change I Can Believe-In" but when he promises to get us out of both wars with no clever wording to keep some troops in the Middle East, when he stops the fascist-corporate state, when he talks to the protestors and doesn't allow the cops to beat and arrest them for no reason, when he respects the Constitution and the right of American people to protest ... then I will believe he is really for change.
