I imagine this report will motivate CEO's to form a union.

Hey, here's a great idea for a 'citizen's revolt' - everyone can join! 1. take all your money out of all accounts and put it in cash and gold - devil take the hindmost 2. don't pay any mortages or credit cards freedom! ;)

A handful of Republican governors are considering turning down some money from the federal stimulus package, a move opponents say puts conservative ideology ahead of the needs of constituents struggling with record foreclosures and soaring unemployment.
Though none has outright rejected the money available for education, health care and infrastructure, the governors of Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alaska, South Carolina and Idaho have all questioned whether the $787 billion bill signed into law this week will even help the economy.
"My concern is there's going to be commitments attached to it that are a mile long," said Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who considered rejecting some of the money but decided Wednesday to accept it. "We need the freedom to pick and choose. And we need the freedom to say 'No thanks.'"

sweet. their constituents will voice their opinions in the next election. Meanwhile, others will be able to use the money.
Actually, the divide will occur when those states refuse to pay taxes on the stimulus bill. that's really what the Republican "NO" is about. They will say they didn't benefit from it so they shouldn't pay the taxes on it.
And the war begins.

CEO's are lining up to buy their tickets to a warm non-extradition haven. The rest of the nation will be slack jawed at the station long after the trains have left; myself included unless I win the lottery or rob a solvent bank.
The stimulus is well intentioned assuming they are desperately trying to protect, preserve and continue the status quo. Or, our expected way of life, if you prefer. Sadly, it is only buying time until another massive plan is unveiled next year. The writing is on the wall.

This is good for progressive change because the declining political capital of the well-to-do makes them less able to block reforms that benefit the common man. It is time for class warfare when the other side is so reviled.
