    I'm not dissin DaVinci because I do consider him the greatest mind in History, possibly tied with Newton, but the concept of a parachute isn't exactly advanced. A big sheet would work fine, it depends on the material used and the weight of the falling object, the basic shape has a minimal impact on overall result.

    No doubt DaVinci was at the top of a short list of amazing geniuses. But this "replica" used modern fabrics and didn't include a wooden frame specified by Leonardo. So we still don't know if the DaVinci parachute actually works.
