AMERICAblog: Dear AP, if Mrs. Obama is relevant then where is the story on drug-abuser, drug-stealer, Cindy McCain?

  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Cindy McCain: I'm proud of my country...as she swallows a handful of vicoden and xanex.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
Or..... Cindy McCain: " I'm proud of my "money."...as she pays someone off to keep her out of jail. ;-)
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
As well she should be. A "war hero" dumps his faithful, ailing first wife and gloms onto an heiress, even schedules his wedding to said heiress before the divorce from No. 1 is final -- and about half the electorate STILL considers him the most morally upstanding candidate in the race. What a country!

I'm beginning to think Revenge of the Stepford Wives was about Cindy McCain . . . except she's still taking the drugs
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Hey John. Why doesn't the Obama team put together a team of researchers who can pull up and post information on a dime. For instance, Christopher Wills could be under the "journal spotlight". Sell the effort as a new movement of openness; one that puts the spotlight on media pundits looking for attention.

Seriously! If done correctly, it'll silence those looking to gain attention by smear tactics.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
I do hope you've called the paper on this. Maybe a comment in the editorial section might help. What reporters do you know that would run with this? I think you are spot on for mentioning that what's good for the goose is good for the gander. We are not going to let this right leaning media control presidential elections anymore. Not this time, as Obama says. Perhaps, a call to the person you know at his headquarters could push it further. Maybe a call to Olbermann's staff. Who knows maybe he'll bring it up. I've seen many times his show bringing up points you have already laid out in your blog so "me thinks" they may be avid readers of your blog as well, John. ;-)

What...Nedra drying out her pickler somewhere???
    Mayhaps the bard...

So, now I have confess'd that he is thine,
And I myself am mortgaged to thy will,
Myself I'll forfeit, so that other mine
Thou wilt restore, to be my comfort still:
But thou wilt not, nor he will not be free,
    For thou art covetous and he is kind;
He learn'd but surety-like to write for me
Under that bond that him as fast doth bind.
The statute of thy beauty thou wilt take,
Thou usurer, that put'st forth all to use,
    And sue a friend came debtor for my sake;
So him I lose through my unkind abuse.
Him have I lost; thou hast both him and me:
He pays the whole, and yet am I not free.

I went to Taylor Marsh's site and she posted Hillary's email about ending her campaign and a lot of the commenter's there were saying how it was unfair to Hillary and now they would support John McCain. '

    This is from McCain's website
    Overturning Roe v. Wade

John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Just who are these women trying to punish because if McCain becomes President, women will suffer.
If you look at the issues that McCain believes are important compared to Obama's important issues, I just cannot see why any women would vote for McCain over Obama.

A vote for McCain is a vote against women.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
A vote for McCain is also a vote against the Lilly Ledbetter Equal Pay Act. McBoob thinks that "education and training" alone will abolish workplace discrimination. And if it doesn't: well, there are too many lawsuits in this country anyway.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
I wouldn't worry too much about the much rumored rush of women to McCain following Hillarys defeat. IMO a lot of it is just part of the grieving process people are going through. A lot of women felt as strongly about Hillary as the black community felt about Obama, it's going to take a while for them to realize that they would be cutting off their nose to spite their face to vote for McCain out of some sense of "getting back" at the media/Obama/Democratic party for not choosing Hillary.

In the end, I believe most Democratic women will warm up to Obama, and if not, a small percentage of them will probably just not show up in Novemeber. I just don't see a huge tidal wave of lifelong Democratic leaning women going to John McCain.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Honestly, these rabid Clinton supporters are unable to think logically. They are like two year olds not getting their way. IF Obama were to lose (it is going to be a tough race) these women really ought to be ashamed of themselves, they will have voted for the Bush's third term
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Nah, they're hurting right now. Many are old women who believe they will never see a woman president in their lifetimes again. If they want to join us then we are here. I don't blame them for feeling hurt. Some of the comments to them were really hateful. I never did do that or attack those like Harriet Christian from the video.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
The other side, however, is that they need to be willing to step up and not throw venom. As I pointed out above, there is an incredible amount of symbolism to Obama being nominated as well, and at the very least maybe the "classy" thing to do would be to let those who had so much invested in him have their moment to savor it. I hate to put this in the prism of race, but it is kind of appropriate. Black people have been loyal Democrats for decades and yet today there is only one black Senator (soon to be POTUS), and there has never been a black politician attain higher office than majority whip. Every so often it is nice and reassuring to see that a party that you have invested so much time and effort in is willing to support you. I empathize with how a lot of women may be feeling right now, but a part of me also is angry that I am being asked to not savor the accomplishment of Obama in order to get support for Clintons supporters.

Win, lose, or draw, the sound of at least one glass ceiling came crashing down on Tuesday. My grandmother, who was literally beaten with billy clubs and bitten by dogs in Selma protesting Jim Crow just sat stunned listening to Obama speak on Tuesday. She didn't cry, she didn't say a word, just sat their in silence. Afterwards, I asked her how she felt and she just said "it was all worth it".

What happened on Tuesday will be written about in history books and will be placed in the timeline of civil rights achievements throughout history. I in no way belittle the symbolism of if Clinton had won but lets be real, the recipe for heartbreak was written the day it became clear they were the two frontrunners for the nomination.

It would have almost been more merciful if Edwards had won it.

Cheney and Air Force Generals Implicated in Nuke Theft
    http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/messag...
    http://www.militarytimes.com/forums/showthread....

Between August 24 and September 6, 2007, the U.S. Air Force's nuclear chain-of-command was severely compromised by a rival chain established out of Vice President Dick Cheney's office and extending through the offices of the Air Force Secretary and Chief of Staff, the Air Force's Cyber-Warfare element, and into the strategic bombing commands located at Minot and Barksdale Air Force Bases. In the weeks before and after this time period, there is ample evidence to suggest that the security of nuclear weapons, particularly at Minot, was placed in severe jeopardy by the rival chain-of-command.

    This needs to get out

I can vouch for this article. I live here and for a couple of years the spokespeople at BAFB have been going on about how Importtant it is "to fight cyber warfare" and that they had been chosen from all the military bases. What exactly is "cyber warfare"? A hacker? Anyway, local media has been going on and on about it repeating the line it will secure Barksdale from being closed and will bring in many jobs with this new mission against cyber warfare. But they're up to something. That's what I sense, from getting a read on some of the officials speaking from there.

  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
Ignore the MSM. It's a waste of time to try to "change" their behavior or hope for something different. It is clear that the MSM has an agenda of either pushing a particular ideology or simply milking any story they can for money. that being said, IMO the real goal should be to make the grass roots stronger and get out accurate information, not yell at the media for not being "fair or balanced".
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
Yeah, they will not change, and the MSM will never be fair and balanced. I hate when the pundits believe that they have to translate what you just heard the politician say because they act like we are just too stupid to understand anything. And they always want to put just the right (or left) spin on the topic.

Agree Zenn. AP has been lying their asses off since the "so-called" fascist War began.

This is going to have to be a grass-roots effort - the odds are stacked against us. Rigged elections, fascist Corporate News, etc, etc.

Furthermore, these rat bastards in Washington may get the benefit of (1) another attack on US soil; and (2) knocking a few sites out in Iran. A false flag is just what these lying war mongers need.

Its going to take a monumental effort to overcome odds created by a criminal cabal who took this country down while it was sleeping.

So, like Zenn said, screw the media. They are all whores. It won't be the "News" that makes the difference for Obama. No fascist regime has every been removed by anything less then all out war. We have to be the first to do it through a grass roots revolution.

The "press" is in for a few surprises.

A new sheriff is coming to town (Obama) and he won't stand their behavior anymore, ESPECIALLY when they attack his wife.

I hope the first thing he does is have the FCC bring back the Fairness Doctrine.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

"The Fairness Doctrine was a United States FCC regulation requiring broadcast licensees to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner deemed by the FCC to be honest, equitable, and balanced. The doctrine has since been withdrawn by the FCC, and certain aspects of the doctrine have been questioned by courts."
  • Hangtown Danile · 1 year ago
The Fairness Doctrine will only serve to make most if not all talk shows to move to LEO (Low Earth Orbit). Unless you are saying that the (un)Fairness Doctrine needs to be extended to LEO broadcasts as well. If they do that then why not also extend it to the internet? And if they are going to do that why not just censure for content everthing that we say on this website? Everything we say in e-mails? Everything we say on the street? See were this can go? What is the point in having speech or a press if it is going to be censured? Why have speech at all if it is not free.
And not only free to people with whom we agree, but also for the people whom we disagree?

I don't know anything about how AP works or how to get through to them to complain, but this is obviously a talking points memo and could not be more partisan. Our country is getting screwed by a media who are complicit in the death and destruction of our republic and it's overseas folly. We need to use the resources we have at hand, namely the internet and word of mouth, to drown out these "official" creeps.

We will not stop such stories from appearing in the media. The real question is why we sit back and take it. We need to go out and countrer these stories on evey national news program, in the papers and on the radio.

    1. So why are you brining up Ayers? Obama was 8 years old when Ayers was in the underground, are you suggesting that this is really relevant? Then what about the relation of McCain and name Abramoff? Obama once attended a function at Ayers house, then what about McCain's attendance at (fill in the blank.)

    2. If we can go back to Mr. Ayers past for thirty years, then are we not allowed to ask why McCain stayed with a drug abusing wife who actually stole medicines from a non profit to feed her habbit?

    3. Apparently there is no actual evidence of Obama having improperly benefited from his relationship with Renko, then can we as whether McCain is a homosexual since he attended many GOP activities with Craig? A problem with prostitutes like Vitter? What about his Keating 5 problem?

For each such allegation, our people need to go out with a counter attack.

The best way to deal with the Associated Press, which seems to have pretty much endorsed the McSame campaign, is to look for this story in any publication and immediately demand space for a response challenging their irresponsible reporting.
AP reporters are nothing special - especially if they are stationed in the smaller area offices. Those with more experience already know when they are being a tool, and the company is notorious for not accepting criticism. Since it exists by subscription of member newspapers/broadcast outlets, we have to monitor when these stories appear and challenge the purpose, intent and factual basis of the reporting. If we can do it on a blog, we can sure as hell do it in the media stupid enough to run this trash.

And I am so sick and tired of this people bringing up that Barack spent 20 years at Trinity United, as if that matters soooo much. I believe people are more concerned about a person who has lived for 20 years in a home that is about to be foreclosed on, or the 20 years it's going to take for a person to pay off a college loan, or if we are going to be occupying Iraq for 20 more years........
