AMERICAblog: Dear Lord, he's hallucinating now

Apparently, he is becoming more delusional with every day that passes! Scary to imagine him with the power of the presidency.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
He "worked the phones"! From his Arlington deluxe apartment. 17 phone calls. Then a nice nap before din-dins.
  • BarrieT · 1 year ago
He can work a phone? With those arms?
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
"A little bit of fiction." More like the whole bloody Collected Works of Tolstoy, darlings.
  • Apphouse50 · 1 year ago
The man is sliding into dementia. Everything supports this, including his temper, his impulsiveness, his confusion over facts, and more. And his wild claims of saviorishness: "I am Beowulf!"

Makes ya' wonder how it is that his top campaign staff see this evolving. How do you deal with a presidential candidate who is clearly not clear and worsening by the minute? Oh, wait, they could ask Reagan's campaign staff from '84, right?

Do they mean to put this man in the WH? Do they just take orders from Dark Side types who see Caribou Barbie as their answer to the loss of Dubya?

    WTF?

I think SNL nailed it last night.

    He just doesnt care anymore.

This is the exact same thing McCain tried to do with Sen. Webb and the new GI Bill. Once it passed McCain tried to act like he was the one who pushed it through. McCain is Lower than low.
  • fostert · 1 year ago
"Jumping the Shark" is no longer a sufficient description for McCain's behavior. Nor is "severing one's tether to reality". We need a new phrase. Any suggestions?
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR. Did I mention, Liar, Liar, Liar, Liar, Liar.
  • fostert · 1 year ago
Is he really lying? In order to actually lie, he must know what the truth is. And he doesn't seem to be even remotely connected to reality. Nor does he even seem to care about what reality might be. This is just pure bullshit. He simply says things without having any concern about whether or not it's true. It's kind of like he's making decisions on a roulette wheel: "If it's black, I say this; if it's red, I say that. If I lose, I bet more."
  • irishdave3 · 1 year ago
Just like in Viet Nam, Coot should have bailed out instead of riding it down...it's not like he lacks experience in "Bailing Out"
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
well, in honor of his choice of running mates, how about "Screwing the Moose"?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Naah. That would be Prez. Clinton's fantasy.

    LIAR.

Just saw Nancy Pelosi on CNN announcing the deal. Not one mention of Republicans. Congratulations all around but only for Democrats.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Very telling indeed that no GOPrs were there. Click on over to DKOS...KOS himself actually has finally written something I agree with....NO BAILOUT.
  • martha · 1 year ago
That's not good. Everyone hates bailing out wall street. Now the repugs can say they are for the little guy.
Dems should not vote for it unless the repugs do. Otherwise we should all go under together. We can't be fooled again.

McShame is amazing, he would claim credit for creating the Earth , if he could. By the way John, I just heard that his campaign stopped the mock debate they were holding for Sarah right in the middle because of the answers that she was giving. Apparently they were all just sitting around with their heads in their hands wondering what she was talking about. Have you heard anything about this development? If so fill us in, this should be fun.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
I just heard that too. Supposedly they held a mock Press Conference and then a mock debate and they were disastrous. I'm sure someone with some connections can get some inside info.

I just don't see how they will go through with the VP debate....if it's a disaster just a few days before, there is no way they will have her prepared. I just KNOW that there is going to be some family emergency or crisis or something that they will try to use to postpone or cancel it...
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
After the last week McCain can't afford to pull anymore stunts... He's dangling from a very small thread of "credibility" as it is... he can't cancel her debate and he can't replace her without looking like a total joke... his only chance of salvaging this is if something catastrophic were to happen to Ms. Palin making her staying on the ticket impossible... and having her just shuffle off home to "take care of family matters" won't cut it...

I'd advise Ms. Palin to stay out of small planes...
  • middlegirl · 1 year ago
Off topic but dear lord, this is funny. The Sarah Palin disney movie trailer that Matt Damon was worried about.

OT, but equally delusional....is this email I got from AFA's Don Wildmon:

"Dear Friend, The upcoming election is the most critical in the history of our nation. The very future of our nation's foundation is at stake. Every person will be affected. If the liberals win, then our foundation will no longer be based on the traditional Judeo-Christian morality. It will gradually but assuredly be based on an ever shifting, ever moving foundation.

I cannot overemphasize the importance the Nov. 4 election. That is why I hope you will forward this email to your pastor, and encourage your pastor to sign the Pastor's Pledge."

This morning on Fox News Sunday, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) praised Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for returning to Washington to help the bailout negotiations, saying his presence was vital to the negotiations:

"John didn’t phone this one in. … You can’t phone something like this in. Thank God John came back."

Maybe hallucinations explain the incessant blinking. And the droopy eye. And the lisp. And the makeup artist....

I guess the AP decided since Palin is going down anyway, it might as well do it's job.
"AP Investigation: Palin got zoning aid, gifts.."

McCain, sitting at home trying to get the Betamax to stop blinking.

I'm glad I had just swallowed my drink before reading that!
  • okojo · 1 year ago
To defend McCain, one iota, he didn't say that his campaign aide said that, but it is still outrageous.
  • AC_in_MI · 1 year ago
That was just a F'ing good post! God, I laughed my Ass off!
  • Happy_Housewife · 1 year ago
    Hell, he's not hallucinating.

He's lying. What else is new?
  • JustAnOldLady · 1 year ago
He also thinks he's Teddy Roosevelt........he kept comparing himself to TR on George Stephanopolus program this AM......
  • gumbygirl · 1 year ago
He's like Uncle Teddy in Arsenic and Old Lace ! I love that movie- hopefully TCM or AMC will show it soon.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
How long before he takes credit for inventing fire, the wheel, maybe the discovery of iron and how to turn it into steel, taming the dog, the horse and how to make cheese from milk. Not to mention the internet, typewriter, transistor, computers and that he taught everyone how to email.

I'll give him credit for one thing. He did invent horseshit.
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
    Thanks for making me laugh!
  • DAR_Progressive · 1 year ago
Yes, bingo, credit for the wheel.

It's just that he still thinks the earth is flat, and his RM still thinks the earth was created 6,000 years ago. Holy mother of pearl, is the Repub campaign for real or am I about to wake up???
  • irishdave3 · 1 year ago
Must respectfully disagree..he didn't "invent" Horse Shit...he just "bought it from it's original owner...AND he used Snakeeyes $$$$ ...not the Tax psers money. What a Maverick....McCain/Palin...now Witch-Free!
  • DAR_Progressive · 1 year ago
Oooooh, John. Betamax. Brilliant!! - Thank you for helping us keep the last bit of our sanity with a good laugh.

Does anybody think the GOP canditates are like the Peter Sellers character, Chauncey Gardener, in "Being There???"
  • LeftCoastOracle · 1 year ago
More evidence that this man is seriously deluded and/or demented.
  • vwcat · 1 year ago
I hope he tells Nancy Pelosi that it was not her but, himself that brokered the deal and was responsible for the bill.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
"it was McCain, sitting at home trying to get the Betamax to stop blinking." hysterical!
  • irishdave3 · 1 year ago
Sheesh, You mean JoeBlows took a break from prepping his "replacement" to go out with the Coot? I wonder if he knows how CAROL McCain feels...getting dumped for ayoung, prettier "partner"?
