AMERICAblog: Dear Media, pull your reporters from the Straight Talk Express

This is symptomatic of a much deeper issue. The issue is lying and secrecy. The media is once again being complicit to a secretive candidate. Is this what we, the public, can expect of a McCain presidency? No knowledge, no access to "President McCain"

In a word, yes!

aquarius2: You should be well accustomed to this after 8 Bush/Cheney years of contempt shown to the American public. More of the same with McCAIN/PALIN IS MORE THAN A SLOGAN. IT'S A FUTURE REALITY if these two weasels are ever elected or selected.

It's funny, I sent that same recommendation to Andrew Sullivan just yesterday. I think it's a BRILLIANT idea (of course :)

CNN has time to dredge up old archives of McStupid and the Keating investigation and news they reported on 20 years ago during all that air time they will have free not following him and Screech around.

I noticed one of the McCain commericals where it is when he was campaigning in 2000....you can tell......McCain looks younger and has more hair.....but it makes you think it's 2008.

Would you buy a ticket to a movie and just sit in the lobby?.....
That's what reporters are doing.

But the msm loves their Johnny "Hero" McCain and Sarah "ain't she cute" Palin.

Or how about a woman who buys a bathing suit but never wears it in the water.
Same thing....reporters go to these events....but they don't get to test the water.

Rick Davis says the media MUST show respect and deference to Her Highness and His Royal Maverickness. As Davis says, it's all about the overall impression voters get about the candidates, not what they stand for on the issues. Appearance is everything. But it's great to see Schmidt and that snotty Nicolle Wallace equating CNN and AP with nasty, horrible, invasive bloggers like myself who VIOLATED the privacy and sanctity of the Palin Royal Family by speculating about incest, fake pregnancies, meth abuse, teenage promiscuity, etc. etc.

apparently the Palin/McCain campaign have now changed their mind and are allowing journalists. submit your questions to AP. such as, if you are elected, will you allow John Mccain to meet with european leaders.

I've been watching ABC Daytime, the "View" and ABC soap operas. John McCain is airing ads left and right.
MSNBC has now picked up the "reporters banned" story. Seems like someone without brains is running the McCain/Palin ticket. Photo ops only isn't going to cut it with the press.

When will they (MSM) learn, that they have been made fools of once again, first by the Bush White House and now by the McCain camp. Maybe they are just to ashame to admit it, and rather than correct it, they just keep going along.

McCain's staff is probably worried that someone would ask Palin to name a country--any country--that borders Afghanistan.

The beauty of this is that McBully is congenitally unable to give ground on ANYTHING. He's like McFly from Back To The Future - call him a "chicken", and the game's over.
With someone of a more even-minded temperament, some sort of common ground would be able to be reached. Not so with McSenile.
If McAssWatcher can't even deal with the American media, how on earth do people expect him to deal with the actual WORLD?

I knew it would be a matter to time until the media finally grew a pair of balls. In this world of instant information, you cannot shield a candidate, or create a fake manchurian type candidate like Palin (the trojan Moose theory) and get away with it. You could for a while after 9/11, but the gig is up people.
The more the McCain campaign shields us from Palin, the more mystery is created, and the more people will fill in the blanks on her story.......and it won't be pretty.
My friends, the infamous 'October surprise' will not be coming from the Neocons, it will be coming from the Dems this time around, and reflect negetively on the Rethugs.

They act like they are above everyone else. This chick must be real dumb for them not to let her speak openingly with the reporters.
All of this is staged. Wake up America!

NO MEDIA ACCESS = NO COVERAGE AT ALL: The Republicans deserve this sanction and need to get it NOW. Enough of these underhanded secrecy methods which have become painfully obvious. They are UNACCEPTABLE and remind me vividly of the Bush/Cheney contempt for us all. Without coverage they will have been exposed for what they are.

Yes, Yes, Please do. They are a comedy team that doesn't deserve media coverage.

Please do not boycott the campaign. Just keep reporting on the lack of access. If the media revolts against McCain, the right will have a new outlet for their phony outrage. They'll switch the conversation from those pesky facts to the unfair liberal media. I hate to put my tin foil hat on but this seems like the perfect tactic given McCain's estrangement from truth.

The media will stay at McCain's side. Why? Each one wants to be the first to report when McCain finally collapses ... or dies ... during the campaign.
Now before anyone starts screaming that I shouldn't wish this on anyone, let me say it is not wishing -- it is just being realistic. (When a relative has terminal cancer, does it mean you WISH him dead, when you state he will die soon?)

Yes. Why give McBush/McBarbie any press?
You are being manipulated.
Don't help them manipulate the voters.

Yeah, you make a good point. I wonder how long the media will put up with it the fruitless rat race.
Furthermore, I can not wait for the VP debates on foreign policy. In fact even this Friday's debate should be rewarding if Obama's foreign policy committee membership during McCain's absence is any indication. McCain's not even a member of the Senate Committee on homeland security. This should be good.

I read this blog on Latina Americans voting for McCain/Palin. I don't see where the Obama ads are competing for women voters: http://alisavaldesrodriguez.blogspot.com/2008/0...
