AMERICAblog: Dem. Senators are cranky because they're being called out for screwing up health care reform
Chris From Maine

Very good point Joe (Sorry Joe!).. these Senators think they are Lords, not Senators. They think they are above everyone and shouldnt have to bother with "common" people.
Thats why they dont listen or care to the people who got them elected. (Unless its an election year of course...)

It's not John's piece, Chris.
The rampant denial of healthcare to medicare and medicaid beneficiaries will only escalate under Obamacare.
The USA has no choice. People who dream to have their $800 per month meds or their hernia operations covered will be out in the dark.
The Prez has already mentioned the folly of patching up folks who're going to just die anyway. This thinking leads us to "soylent green". the new proposed mandates don't bode well for the elderly and disabled.

If only we had people in Washington that could represent our interests as effectively as lobbyists represent their clients' interests.

I saw part of Meet the Press where the Repubicans were touting some sort of alternate health care "plan" but were at an absolute loss to explain why they didn't enact their "plan" when they controlled the White House, the Congress and the Supreme Court.

I suggest starting a shadow government in say, New York City, that actually does things, you know legislate and pass laws for The Citizens of the United States of America, and just leave the entire lobbyist and congress critter "government" players to fend for themselves. LOL!

I think we just disband the whole thing and start over. Write a new constitution that works. Institute proportional representation. And do away with corporate money in politics.
Until we get corporate money out of elections, nothing is going to change.

That's a cute idea Cowboy but have you seen the clusterfuck that is politics in NY recently?

I'm still trying to digest "the openness of Senator (never met an insurance company I didn't like) Baucus. The guy is a major whore for the medical-insurance industrial complex. Right now, there is no plan on the table that does anything for people like us. The so-called public option is a scam, which could actually make things worse.

I've never been in favor of term limits (believing that the vote was effectively that already), but I'm getting there. The problem is that congresspersons now think of their positions as lifetime jobs. We've let them forget who the boss is, and I think it's time for us to begin the employee reviews. We need to start primary-ing these people, and replacing them with people who listen.

Right after we impose term limits for lobbyists. Lobbyists salivate over the thought of tap dancing on the heads of green-horn members of Congress. While the newcomers are trying to figure out where the rest rooms are, the experienced lobbyists -- many of them former members of Congress -- will be emptying the treasury.

DiFi is a twit, so sick of her.

DiFi is the worst. She is way more conservative than the democratic party in California, but she's had the seat forever and it is so expensive to challenge a statewide office holder in CA.
Someone really does need to primary her though. The seat is safely democratic, and we need a progressive in there.

I sent an email about the importance of real health care reform to Di-Fi a week ago. In return I received a canned response about Guantanamo. I returned it, noting the error. The response: crickets.

If Feinstein married Lieberman, you'd have a fine poodle. A dog that's so mixed up it would bite you then lick you only to bite you again. And then there's that hairdon't.

Everyone needs to read this, explains Obama to a T
lame. If he were a marxist he would have taken over the banks instead of giving them a trickle down style bailout. He is actually a reagan democrat, who bails out bigshots and forgets ordinary people.
American thinker is a fundy rag that is against gay marriage, so I don't know why you would think anyone here would be interested in them.
Hint: we dislike obama because he is acting like a repuke. The real thing isn't more attractive than a closet repuke.

To Nicho... You seem to be on a roll and are usually less sarcastic but I understand that it's weekend. Anyway....Feinstein needs to be replaced and people telling her that she will be replaced. She is worthless and worse than that, she is more Republicans than they are. Total idiot in terms of doing anything for the American people and the people of her own state. We have to apply some pressure to these people, including Obama. At least one person has already suggested that Obama will not get a second term. I like the suggestion and the logic behind it.

I am so sick of the Dems. I don't expect anything better from the Republicans, but there are just way too many Democrats who think and act like they're Republicans, too. I just keep having this awful feeling that what we're going to wind up with vis a vis "health care reform" is 1) a legal mandate that everyone buy health insurance, as in Massachusetts and 2) a tax on (all or some of) employer-provided health care. And that's it. I really, really hope I'm wrong.

Diana the bitch will hear from me in the morning. I will call her office and ask her aide how much money is she getting from the health lobbies. That bitch better listen to us. I called Bacus's office and let them know already.

DiFi isn't going to run again, so she doesn't give a rat's rear about what citizens want. As for her and all the Senators, they think they are in the House of Lords.

""I do not think this is helpful. It doesn't move me one whit," she said. "They are spending a lot of money on something that is not productive."" ===================================== Perhaps, a more productive move would be to vote this dead wait out of office. What a Queen Bee.

Notice, it is mostly Jewish Senators Opposing Obama's Health Plan!!! I wonder why? Could it be, just possibly, when Obama and Ezekial Emmanuel and Peter Orzag talk about putting a price tag on life (they talk about QALY's- Quality Adjusted Health Years!), that this has the DISTINCT AROMA of the NAZI POLICY OF GETTING RID OF USELESS EATERS, that it is "TOO EXPENSIVE," to keep old people alive, etc... etc...... Don't these guys know that the US hung people at the Nuremberg Trials for exactly this policy? I can't believe with all those lawyers up there, including Obama himself, that they would not understand this! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
