Actually I can imagine what it feels like. It's like how I felt the day after the 2002 elections, and how my heart palpatations landed me in the hospital on election day in 2004. =================================================================================== sanjay orkut

Could it be true? Assuming that the primaries find a graceful way to end, the democrats may be left with a very energized base.

hey huckabee, tell us how happy McCain is about this turn of events.
Sage24

Anderson Cooper just mentioned that McCain had phoned Hillary, to congratulate her on her win tonight. He also said he did not think he ever called Obama to congratulate him at any time.
Isn't this HIllary/McCain love fest, disgusting?

A tidal wave throwing out the Repukes is a blessing in disguise for the GOP - it gives them a chance to finally deal with the neo-con nutcases and the fundie crazy-ass loons who took over the party and drove it decisively into the ground.

How could the voters not be convinced by Dick Cheney's recorded phone messages interrupting their dinners? He's like... family.
This win deserves more attention than Hillary's in WV. But it won't.

Anyone watching the Repubs' antics on C-Span realizes they have nothing going for them. They side against the American people on nearly every issue often in childish ways. Americans should realize that their "tax and spend Democrats" is hollow rhetoric. The issue is really the "borrow and spend Repubs." They've not provided any oversight in the first seven years of the Bush administration. They've gotten us into several messes that the next president will have to clean up.

Wow- Mississippi? And after three months of complete race-baiting crap being delivered by the Infotainment Industry. Maybe people aren't listening to them anymore.

The DREAM -- enough House seats to Impeach the Supreme Court Justices that usurped the 2000 election, and enough Senate seats to find them guilty. All the horror of the past seven years is the fruit of that poison tree.

I too am stunned. Stunned.
I can't imagine what this feels like to Republicans. It's like hearing the judge proclaim the death sentence, but yet still awaiting execution in the morning.
Actually I can imagine what it feels like. It's like how I felt the day after the 2002 elections, and how my heart palpatations landed me in the hospital on election day in 2004.
I can't imagine what this could mean for Republicans in November. Long term - last night was the death of the Neocon movement as a force in our politics, (pending Bush letting go of power in January). Perhaps we'll see the return of the Rockefeller Repubicans. But if they can't hold the south, they've got nothing, but Utah.
They might salvage something themselves if they change between now and November - but I think not. They are like the Titanic, the boat's too big, their speeds to fast and their rudder is too small, and everything they know how to do is wrong.

Republicans are learning the hard way that people in the United States want good responsible government. Not slogans, not flag pins, not corruption, not lies, not filibusters, not Karl Rove’s divide and conquer political tactics, but good government. If the GOP wants to govern like children then vote the Bums out! I am happy to see that the US electorate is finally seeing the GOP as the party that produces rotten government. Until the GOP grows up and start to act and vote on issues in a mature manner they all should and need to be voted out of office.

Congratulations Mississippi! You are no longer the dumbest, most racist, politically retrograde state in the Union today! West Virginia has you beat!

"I want to congratulate Congressman-elect Travis Childers on winning this special election. By electing Travis in this traditionally overwhelmingly Republican district, the people of Mississippi voted to end the politics of division and distraction, and bring about real change. This is the third special election in recent months that Democrats have won in traditionally Republican areas -- an unmistakable sign that Americans want to make a clean break from the failed Bush policies of the past - and are not looking for four more years of those failed policies from John McCain. I look forward to working with Travis in the months ahead to fix our economy, and make a difference in the lives of America's hardworking families," said Barack Obama.
I dont know much about the election and the electing current party in America. I would like to know about how they work and what are their work policys.

Hoping to hang on to a Congressional seat in a tight special election here on Tuesday, Republicans in this mostly white and very conservative district are trying to make the vote more a referendum on Senator Barack Obama than on the candidates themselves
