AMERICAblog: Despite the media-induced drama and the kitchen sink attacks, "the Obama campaign is rolling along"

Obama is one class act. Compare his usual calm with Hillary's goo-goo eyes.

I dunno. The Phrase high-tech lynching comes to mind. Only in this instance, it's true. I'm reminded of times when I've seen racism or other forms of discrimination in my youth. People picking on a black kid, or a femme kid, or a fat kid or a disabled kid, whatever, circling him, insulting him, throwing things at him, until the poor sonofabitch is practically feral, swinging wildly, afraid he's never going to get out of this circle of bullies alive. Then the same bullies make fun of the kid for freaking out, it's true what they saw about his type, they're no better'n animals, so why should we treat them any better than animals?
In a better-dressed more-genteel grownup version of the same kind of horse crap, this is what's happening to Obama, with the media and McCain & Clinton's campaigns throwing insult after insult, rumor after rumor, doing everything they can to make him crack, so they can talk about how Obama cracked and if he can't handle scrutiny, why should he be considered worthy to run for President? Meanwhile they love talking about the crap they're throwing at Obama. Win-win for them, they get to keep talking about all the asshole moves Obama makes (whether he makes them or not, and he's almost-always not) until he finally breaks down, THEN they get to talk about what an asshole he is for breaking down.
Like I said, win-win for them. Lose-lose for the American people who genuinely want a strong leader.

I'm hearing a lot within the African-American community that if Obama is not given his rightful nomination, there is going to be incredible outrage. Matt Drudge has even picked up on the story. If the racist Clintons try to steal the Presidency, I'm afraid African-Americans will protest in the streets like never before. It's the ultimate insult for an elitist white woman to try and upstage an honest hard-working Black man.

While the racists will be all over the tube after Obama gets the nomination, he is, by far, the best person running for President in a long time. I hope he continues with his positive campaign and leave the idiotic comments to the media and the Republicans. We have to understand that if he wins the Presidential election, we'll be hearing this garbage from the right and the racists until the end of his term(s). Some how we need to find a way to shut them up for good.

Obama is measured and rational and reasoned. HILLARY IS A FRAUD. Now, who should the nation vote for? I'm calling on Howad Dean and the superdelegates to put a speedy end to this mess now. It's gone on too long. If Hillary were a man, this would have been stopped months ago. It needs to be cut to the quick right now. Who's got the cojones to do this?

This needs to get out big time. Bill Clinton's campaign manager in 1992 (and advisor to Hillary '08) - Mickey Kantor calls Hossiers "worthless white ni**ers". Coupled with Hillary's infamous "Screw 'Em" comment about the white working class, maybe white workers will finally see what the Clintons really think of them. Hillary's got some renouncing and rejecting to do! And look who the slur is directed to and who has no reaction.

I enjoyed listening to Michael Moore on Larry King - he is honest, straightforward and very smart!
The media chooses to attack Obama (only) to obviously assist Clinton in destroying his campaign.
How can you hold what another person says and thinks against him boggles my mind. Maybe we should attend the churches of McCain and Clinton and see if their ministers say something that is inappropriate, untrue or simply a different controversial opinion not held by the candidates themselves - and then crucify them for it. I am sure if they wanted to find real dirt on Hialry Clinton to keep playing over and over on the airwaves to sway people to think the way they want them to think - they would have no problem doing so.
It is time the American people see through the media bias and start thinking for themselves. It is refreshing to listen to one such American - Michael Moore.
I hope that the Obama campaign can rise against the Clinton/media machine and win the election!

Anyone who listens to the main stream media's polls and propaganda has got to be nuts. It's nothing but BS. If Obama loses the vote is going to be fixed again just like it was for Bush in both years he was elected. The media is nothing but Rovian tactics, "LIES AND BRAINWASHING!"

It's obvious to anyone that Hillary is corrupt, deceitful, dishonest, ruthless, racist, and homophobic. We have seen evidence of that every day. What worries me is what is it about her supporters that attract them to such evil? Why would a person literally embrace someone so repugnant?
When Obama wins the nomination, we need these very people as our allies. Yet if Hillary were to become the nominee, who of us if anyone would support such a beast? We need her supporters but at the same time we must not let them know that we would NEVER lift a finger for their monstrous candidate.

It is the drama that keeps the pundits attacking Obama. They know with Obama you would get the circus that the Clintons bring along with them. That an Obama administration would be cooler and calmer and practical. The media craves the antics of the Clintons and are dying to cover Bill at loose ends in the white house. How fun! With the realization that Hillary is losing this thing badly they had to do something so lets paint him an elitist until something breaks, like Rev Wright since no one seems to care about Ayres except the fanatical right

"I've been struck by the way the media really, really wants the Obama campaign to play the game their way."
Agree 100%. Hillary's strategy has been to turn Obama's high-minded 'act' (with which she had problems competing) into a mud-rasslin' match, at which she and her politically gifted husband are no doubt very accomplished. Part of that calculation must have included how attractive an ugly fight would be to media folk. All that idealistic stuff is OK for a bit, but a nasty grudge-match brings in more of an audience and for a longer time.

America stands on a precipice. Democracy is losing as the flagship nation of that ideal. The Electoral College cannot continue. If the population is truly to elect leaders in one voice, then all should have equal footing in that choice. If a president is elected because an electoral number is reached, but not in the popular vote, you will get disastrous leaders like George Bush. I believe that this nation is ready for a change. The people of America know and understand who they are, and who controls their lives. This isn't about a bunch of farmers that can't spell their own name. This is about the dumbing down of a smarter America. The people should voice their ideas, and get them heard. It is time the structure of this flawed representative democracy is scrapped and rebuilt. It is only for the betterment of the legacy of a great and honorable people.

People are not used to the truth-Obama is telling the truth and the media can't twist the truth-Finally someone has come forward with the realization that if you are honest your words can't really be twisted. Obama is the first person in a very long time that is not playing "the game" I am very happy! Obama 08
