AMERICAblog: DHS to "enhance" visa waiver program and make travel even more miserable

  • brian · 1 year ago
Italy is starting to fingerprint only Americans in response to them fingerprinting Italian citizens. The current Administration wants a police state. No wonder why so many people in the world frown on this Administration. And I wonder how many people don't know about the new rules, especially the elderly, that will be denied entry into the US because of this stupid procedure.

Yeah, it's going to be AWESOME when my German in-laws in their 60's and 70's have to figure out which hoop to jump through *this* time in order to visit the States... especially the ones who think the Internet is a cultural sewer and therefore refuse to use it. C'mon, Obama, hurry up and get ride of these "improvements" before my new relatives come over to visit this spring!

Good on Italy. If Germany would do so, that would really get the word out, as there are so many military families who also have relatives who come over to visit.

I find it interesting that Senator Stevens would fail several of the questions on this list - does that mean he won't be able to travel overseas if this becomes universal?

As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from entering a number of countries. Even travel to Canada, or even through Canada, is not possible without special waiver (which he would undoubtedly get, considering what an idiot Stephen Harper is).

One question about this for me: under the visa waiver program, it's already mandatory to fill out a visa waiver application (a green cardboard form right now). This seems to be a replacement for this form. Is the green form going to disappear, or are they *adding* a web option in addition to it?

Consider also that all visa waiver country citizens already have to be fingerprinted at customs...

Have you visited the site? It looks like a Pacman web design. Adorable, I tell, adorable! Even the Bushman could read it.

How the hell would DHS know if someone lied on those stupid questions? Are they tapped into some giant mainframe of all humanity?

    Oh wait...
