AMERICAblog: Did McCain plagiarize his Georgia speech today?

  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
72 hours ago, he didn't know that there was any place called Georgia except that solidly Red place where his good friend, the infinitely skeevy Sen. Saxby "I Don't Have a Name like a Gay Antique Dealer" Chambliss came from. One of the "young jerks" on the Straight Talk Express slapped together a Wiki-reality speech in record time to show up the vacationing "exotic" Obama's lack of presumptuousness, and articulate a shadow foreign policy contrary to the Bush Admin's.
Oh: where is "Doctor" Condi "I Dig Guys, Really" Rice? Out shopping for shoes? Has she weighed in on the Caucasus Clusterfuck her boss helped cause?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
It's a good thing they didn't log on to the wrong page by mistake.

I could just hear McCain saying: "I know I speak for all America when I say we all pray for the brave people of Atlanta."

Until his good friend Joe "Relax and Enjoy It" Lieberman tugged at his sleeve and set him straight. "Um, John, there are two Georgias..."

p.s. Isn't she supposed to be some sort of expert on Russia or something?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condoleezza_Rice

Shultz included Rice in a "luncheon club" of intellectuals who met every few weeks to discuss foreign affairs.[20] In 1992, Shultz, who was a board member of Chevron Corporation, recommended Rice for a spot on the Chevron board. Chevron was pursuing a $10 billion development project in Kazakhstan, and as a Soviet specialist, Rice knew the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. She traveled to Kazakhstan on Chevron's behalf, and, in honor of her work, in 1993, Chevron named a 129,000-ton supertanker SS Condoleezza Rice.

Actually, it looks like Condi's on the job already.

I just donated $100 to Barack Obama. How about you?
  • Hagioscope · 1 year ago
No doubt McCain will want the Russians to stop before they reach the Georgia-Florida border.

Since it is very difficult to determine what John McBush actually says because of his flip-flopping etc., tomorrow he may just say, he never said that. ;-)

How can Sprinkles be responsible for a campaign of which he's not in charge?
  • Ben Dover · 1 year ago
It's soooooo cute when they go online all by their little selves for the very first time! It's a regular Kodak moment!
Won't be long now and Grampa McSame will be taking advantage of all those, "Become a Bigger Prick" ads that are so popular amongst the neo-cons.
Cindi McTart better keep an eye on Grampa McSame so he doesn't fall victim to chat room romances!

Did McCain plagiarize his speech? I don't know... the traditional media won't report on this because they are too busy trying to tell us the Clintons think they would have won the primaries if John Edward's infidelities had been exposed in time. That's right! Hillary thinks a big REMINDER of the whole Clinton Monica Lewinsky scandal would have helped her chances in Iowa. The traditional media has to report this over and over as if it were true, or question the validity of that kind of absurd illogical statement by the Clinton campaign. Her campaign isn't over, its being funded by Fox News. In fact, Howard Wolffson is now PAID by FOX to shill for Hillary and try to derail Obama's chances.

McCain headquarters must be crawling with Christian College Grads (with no real summer jobs), hired as paid Inter-tube Googlers, Wikipidiots, and wide-eyed Blog Trolls. They party like it's 1999.

McCain: "Why can't I can't find the goddam ANY key!"

the media attacks Obama for being on vacation during a crisis when he is not in the WH, yet Bush is in China and Condo-lies-ah refuses to leave her vacation:

I’m trying to turn the tables on the McCain folks and their stupid tire gauge stunt. I’m having gauges made and selling them on eBay in hopes of raising $2300 for Obama (the max contribution). If you are down, can you please forward this on to other like minded folks. Thanks!

Question: I'm watching "Hardball" and Chris Matthews keeps emphasizing Howard Wolffson made his comments, about how Clinton would have won the primary if Edward's infidelity had been exposed, on a "network that doesn't pay him, ABC instead of FOX!" Uh, that is a disturbing kind of thing to say. Has Chris decided to come clean and let us know all the PAID staff of the cable news networks only provides pre-screened view points and speak only talking points provided them by management?!!? Sounds like it to me.

Wikipedia, huh? Maybe McCain can go after John Siegenthaler for killing the Kennedys.

This looks like some D student high schooler trying to whip up a report on Georgia the night before it's due. Jesus! the paraphrasing wasn't event believable.
you just know some stupid little staffer did it. probably one of those ranked 894 out of a class of 899.
this is probably precisely what happened with the Miss Buffalo Queen contest.

I started teaching college composition 18 years ago. The passages in question are, without a doubt, fine examples of plagiarism. In fact, I plan to use them as examples of "what not to do" in class this semester. Too bad the intern who prepared this statement didn't pay attention in Freshman Comp.

What I find more disturbing, however, is that the man who wants to be the leader of the supposedly free world and who claims to be THE man with foreign policy expertise is using Wikipedia as a source of information. Wasn't there SOMEONE involved in his campaign--a foreign policy expert, a former diplomat, anyone--who actually KNEW SOMETHING about the history of Russian/Georgian relations without having to turn to the favorite cheat source of the average American ninth grader?

I think the bigger question is...if McCain is going to shake a big stick at Russia and Iran, what does he have to back it up with? Our military is at the breaking point....can anyone say "draft"? And what would even the idea of that do to the McCain campaign?
  • hardeknox · 1 year ago
You don't think this lazy SOB writes his own stuff, do you? He's on message only because it's produced by his campaign. A lazy SOB there ripped off wikipedia for part of the speech. I doubt he's ever heard of it. He only does one event a day, four-five days a week. He needs his sleep the rest of the time.
