I wish it come out that Bushco & company encouraged Georgia's president to attack South Ossetian thinking that the Americans would come and help them defeat the Russians.
I guess terrorism is out the door and the cold war is back. My God, these people don't care about anything but greed and power, any means necessary, and all the Religious Right think about is pro-life. I guess they need bodies to send to fight their wars.

I read somewhere that Condiliar was in Georgia about a month before this happened and that she warned Saakashvili not to invade the breakaway regions. This could mean that McCain was the rogue and acting on his own, or it could mean that Condiliar was just leading Saakashvili down the primrose path. It would not be past them because if you recall, before the Gulf War they sent signals to Saddam Hussein that they would just stand by if he invaded Kuwait. Either way, I think this is the October surprise come early, and John McCain will be able to posture as commander-in-chief and tough on national security because they've reignited the Cold War now. It's no longer just Georgia but now Poland with the missiles.

And I might add that economic issues, health care, the environment will all go by the wayside.

The problem is Obama has not differentiated himself from this position. We do not want Georgia in NATO but he says we do. If Georgia was in NATO we would have to fight Russia now. Obama has lost his lead because he stopped being Obama and has fallen into the Republican trap of saying Democrats are weak. He spends all day defending his patriotism instead of setting smart policy. Does Obama want a missile system in Poland? McCain wants confrontation with Russia. Do the American people want the same? Will Obama just parrot the McCain Bush foreign policy or will Obama go back and be Obama? His call our time, money and dream. Be a Democrat damn it! We want to make America strong the American public is tired of war and being the policeman of the world. JUST SAY IT DAMN IT

Here it is in simple lingo for the dumbest voter: "Georgia attacked South Ossetia, believing McCain would support Georgia. Russia pushed back, defending Russians in South Ossetia. You want your sons and daughters to fight and die in a third war in another place you never heard of?"

Camp Obama just accused McCain of being reckless in a phone conversation with the media. McCain is a very scary man and the American public needs to know that. We need the 527's back. Come Barak WAKE UP. It is not an attack if the ad is true. McCain loves war. You can see his eyes light up when he talks about it. About 20 % of this country agrees with McCain about war. Obama needs to address this and get aggressive instead of defending himself all the time. BARAK LET MOVE ON PLAY! Stop this high minded attempt to have everyone love you. Guess what not everybody does. You just need half of them to like you but you have to show you can fight.

" McCain encouraged Georgians to believe America would back them up in a crisis. That expectation was naive, and it was wrong to encourage it. It was especially wrong to give a volatile leader such as Saakashvili what he evidently imagined was an American blank check."
Amen, brother!!! McCain will start more wars than you can shake a stick at.

I think Chimpy and Darth encouraged Saakashvili, too. They armed them to the teeth and said they wanted them in NATO. That's plenty of encouragement.

McCain wants to return to the Cold War. It was Republican's best issue, and they lost it under Bush Sr. It was a great fear card. Never knew when the Russians might bomb us. Rethugs didn't have another good card until 9/11 and that isn't going too well because people are sick of Iraq. So, if they can have a second ace in their hands, politics might be easier.
