AMERICAblog: Disunity for McCain: GOP platform causing splits in the party

  • NealB · 1 year ago
I wonder if Republican unity will be the big story at their convention next week. I don't think there are any moderates left in the Republican party, so how dis-unified could they be?
  • larz · 1 year ago
But will our "liberal" media bother to report on this or will they just spend the whole week bringing McCain't donuts with "sprinkles" ("sprinkles" is code for Cindy's illegal meds).

    talk about a dis-unified MESS!
maybe it won't be all snoozy after all...
the limpballs faction, for one, still hates McBush. and so do the Dobson fundies, and the wall-building Lou Dobbs lovers...

I get the impression that McCain has precious little to do with the running of his campaign. This is perhaps why McCain is so often dumbfounded by questions relating to what he is supposedly saying.

The guy might as well be a cardboard cutout. Maybe he is?

Now, you insult cardboard. What have you got again cardboard?

B-b-but! According to the corporate media, it's the Dems who are disunited, dysfunctional, and fatally and bitterly riven by ugly conflict. Whereas ALL the Republicans are rallying around the maverick war hero, who is successfully cementing the Christian evangelical base thanks to his kickass performance at the Saddleback "debate." Even the polls prove it!

Adolf is dead, who else will speak at the convention?

dolf is dead, who else will speak at the convention?

So is McCain, but won't stop them from having a speech from McCain at the Republican Convention.

.......bettre make those telepromper screens as big as possible. I wonder if the media tv will pan out like they do in Denver to catch the catnappers

McCain can't figure out email so he probably has a hard time with party platforms as well

I have a feeling the Noun,Verb, POW thing is working.

Remember...taking the strength and making it a weakness.

Oh, and if McCain does pick Romney...

    McCain/Romney -= 1/2 Billion Dollar Boy$

I want Gramps to either pick Magic Underpants or Timmy PawPaw. It will be a new comedy with either of these two ass clowns for the rest of the election season.

"Grampy McSame" as Stephanie Miller says..

I know sounds silly, but I get alot of funny snarky quotes from her show....

I loved seeing the Mittster warble on about how useful the Hillary attacks on Obama were. And then just imagines if POW John picks Mittens as VP the giant shit sundae with cherries on top they'll both have to eat as their conduct towards each other during the primaries is replayed over and over again.

It is quite difficult to specify what an organization if for when its entire premise is built upon what it is against.
This fact is what is now driving the republican party as it attempts to paper over their essential differences. Differences that form the basis of sub-group imperatives.
Now the big business/low manpower cost wing must find a way to meld with the build a big fence and toss out all of the low cost labor wing just as the "values" voters are attempting to do the same with the log cabin residents while they all believe they have a mandate from the candidate.
Then there is the matter of the candidate dressing up like Hillary to woo her supporters while dressing up like Anita Bryant in the effort to woo Huckabee's supporters.
One of the many republican platform questions I have is in which closet are the "no nation building" republicans hiding in now that McCain is promising to make nation remaking the focal point of his administration.
The one thing that appears almost certain is that just like three years ago when scrub gave McCain a birthday cake on the tarmac instead of responding to a national tragedy, this coming week might well see a reenactment of this tragedy with Phoenix being replaced with Minneapolis.
My thoughts & prayers go out to the folks on the Gulf coast as they see the oncoming freight train rushing at them while I hope shrub and his team prove to have learned the error of their indifference to the immense levels of suffering wrought by their last foray into disaster response management.

Some questions I have this morning.

    1) Do you think the RNC will honor the aggrement of openess and allows our people as much access to their convention as ours.
    2) Do you think the MSM will do stories about tensions within the RNC with Ron Paul ala Clinton and their platform?
    3) Do you think there will be a kerfuffle about Bush being present or not being present for McCain's coranation?
    4) Will the MSM debunk any untruths said on the floor next week in real time?

Take a look at a delegate's coverage of the convention on his blog:
