Obviously, these wealthy elites have more money than they have sense. And of course, they'll throw the women of KY and WV and others like them under the bus when the time comes and they're of no use anymore.

Clinton is being encouraged by women who are hell-bent on a woman being elected president. They don't care if that woman is capable, competent or even electable they want her in the White House. I, as a woman, think it is time for a woman president, but not Hillary, not now. I have heard too many women say they will vote for Hillary only because she is a woman. Hillary blew her chances when she became too negative and when she let Bill loose on the capaign trail. Her campaign was poorly run. I thought Hillary was too smart to let some of the stupid men on her team tell her what to do.

Why didn't Pelosi step in and help impeach Bush/Cheney first?

because there aren't sufficient votes in the Congress to do the job

don't worry, Hillary will find a way to drag this all through the summer. anything she can do to destroy Obama for daring to challenge her anointed status, she will do.

Pelosi is not someone I find particularly trustworthy or believable.

I think Rachel Maddow is right. Last night she again said that Hillary will reject any offer made. It's pointless to debate the issue because all she has to do is reject the offer and it goes to convention to be decided.
And that's not a good thing.
Televise the meeting!

I think the Rules Comm. meetings will be televised on c-span and possibly on MSNBC and CNN. An organization like the DNC has bylaws that, together with Roberts, can be used to shut-down any minority report it wants. Pelosi is the Chair of the Convention and she can schedule a vote at 2am with all of her loyal delegates and kill any proposals by Hillary. And, I think by that time, Feminist loyalists will have abandoned Hillary.

The exhausted, dying scorpion's final, potentially fatal attack: "We believe the media and the DNC have underestimated the passion, strength, intensity, and determination of Hillary's supporters and the power of women's voices. Speak Out! Be Counted!" (Women Count PAC's full page ad in USA Today).
Right, the DNC has always wanted an insurgent campaigner all along, and the full extent of the DNC's subversive operation against her is fully revealed; yes, the "media" (whoever that may be) have all conspired, as a monolith, to set her up for a "Dolchstosslegende" scenario denying her the victory she was owed. Patriarchy as exercised in the deceitful, back-stabbing Democratic party and its servile media minions!

If Hillary doesn't get what she wants, this woman scorned will make sure the mess created will make it near impossible for Obama to win the election!

Pelosi? The one who doesn't support impeachment of the most laughably corrupt President in US history? THAT Pelosi? Gee isn't the Democratic party in good hands?

i remember a time when a large percentage of african americans believed OJ simpson had been framed. oppressed groups have to be careful who they anoint as community standard bearers. HRC has turned out to be a bad choice for women.

Good piece on the MSM...and covers some of what we're discussing.
I sincerely hope we will have a competent highly respectable woman for President some day in the future.

Darcy Burner running against Dave Reichert in WA 8th could use some of the Emily's list money... She actually has a good shot at winning with a little extra support and won't need to tear down a fellow Dem or the Democratic Party to do it.
this is pathetic

...And what exactly is it that Pelosi will do after Saturday if it ISN'T resolved? What recourse can she make to end this other than just saying she supports Obama?
Also...Who the hell is on the "By-Law" committee? How many people and what are their names?

Clinton has folk on the bylaws committee. and you are right to ask what Pelosi will do. afterall, she has been confronted daily with the lies and crimes of the Bush administration and done nothing, why on earth would we expect her to grow some ovaries and do something about this?

There are 30 people on the Rules & Bylaws Comm...8 supporting Obama, 13 for Clinton, 9 uncommitted at this time.

At least one of the delegates who supports Clinton will dump her if she doesn't accept the decision of the Rules Comm. I think all, or nearly all of of the uncommitted will support the proposal of attorneys who have worked on a reasonable solution that seats only half of Michigan and Florida.
She will lead the remaining uncommitted or wavering delegates, along with the committed, from the House to shut down any moves to get Hillary's protest to the floor of the convention. I think the entire California delegation will follow her moves. People who will support canning Hillary's motions will announce their positions ahead of time, and that should end it.
Her recent performance has led loyal Democrats to talk to me about Clinton in the same terms that Republicans have used for 16 years, branding her as untruthful, deceitful and unscrupulous. This condemnation is not limited to Obama partisans. One seasoned Democratic operative, who voted for Clinton in his home state's primary but was not part of her campaign, said of her comments about Kennedy, "I think it was about as hideous as it gets."
He also suggests she will reject all compromises. Doesn't that say it all?

Nancy "Impeachment is off the table" Pelosi is threatening to step in and do something? Oooow. Scary. Pelosi has been accused of espousing "San Francisco Values". I can tell you right now, that such a charge is false. If she really believed in the same values as I and my fellow San Franciscans, Bush and most of his administration would be behind bars now.

Thanks, Joe, for this great post. I guess rich San Franciscan Buell enjoys throwing good money after bad. I will continue NOT to give to Emily's list. I think they are not savvy politicians.

Saturday is going to be a mess with all the protester. It will give the party a black eye and the Repubs ammo. I can't believe I actually almost voted for Hillary and felt sorry for her when everyone was writing her off after Iowa (which I thought was ridiculous).
I say we just split florida and MI 50/50 and be done with it. They broke the rules. Is this the kind of President they want, someone who one month will sign a pledge to do one thing and then break her word and pledge 3 months down the line??

I'm hoping that if enough supers endorse Obama after June 3 to put him far above any "magic number" that any counting of MI and FL could possibly produce (thus making any appeal of the Rules and Bylaws Committee decision moot), Hillary won't have much to "take" to the convention. Obama will be the presumptive nominee. No, he won't "officially" be the nominee until the convention (just as McCain won't be the "official" Republican nominee until the Republican convention). But it will be over and everyone will treat it as such.
Here's hoping this will all end next week. Won't it be great to see how well Obama does when he only has to run against one opponent?

I don't trust these closed door meetings. I agree that they should be televised so there's no bull shit.
It's really making me angry that Hillary is getting away with spinning this as a vote-counting issue. The vote is tainted because Barack tried to do what the party wanted - if he's penalized for it, look for an all out war. I'm so sick of the Clintons, I can't stand it. If I never heard their name again, I'd be quite relieved. I'm sick of these elitist dynasties that think they deserve the Oval Office.
