Obama admin's OPM, headed by a gay man, reportedly blocks lesbian from getting health benefits
Actually, what we know as Saturday Night Live was originally called NBC's Saturday Night and ran opposite of an ABC show called Saturday Night Live.
ABC's Saturday Night Live featured such acts as Howard Cosell and Barbara Walters singing a duet.
Not much has changed.
It's obvious that the "powers that be" are definitely afraid of this man getting power. I guess Obama's latest pledge to make sure he will hold the current administration's feet to the fire IF he gets into office reached it's target.
Get ready kids, the going is really going to get tough now...
Listening to the questions the first 45 minutes, one could think that
this was Faux News attacking a democratic candidate.
George and Charlie, are two unprofessional moderators.
I will try again.

Seriously, this debate IS a prime example of how our country got to this sorry point.
he said he thought she might have taken a lighter tack tonite after the Washington Post article about how majority of Americans don't trust her.
I think she is toast.......
Your comment reminds of a Betty Davis quote (I think it was Davis):
"Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy ride"
That was when I quit watching ABC. They were making stuff up.
Thanks, I thought it was ABC but wasn't sure. Hmmm, tonight goes to prove that the press has liberal bias, (snark)
My vote goes for Dopey.

Thanks, Bush Bites also published some links. I really believe that once more research is done, this is going to be worse than lead paint.
the new video was buried after it got 300 diggs.
Please help
I have no idea. It was not a good night for Obama. But it may turn out worse for those out to get him. The online polls show Obama winning, for what they're worth.

Tonight wasn't a debate......it was a hit job by ABC ...with Hillary right in there.
---------
she really showed zero class,im amazed
Please login to rate.
mark my words.....none of those douchbags want to pay 1 penny more in taxes....so that is why they DESPISE Obama
-------
Exactly.
All the media talking heads are rich Repubs.
They want taxes lowered even more and they want to eliminate Social Security and Medicare.
So, they'll always carry water for Repubs.
"CLINTON, OBAMA FIND "BROTHERLY LOVE" AT PHILLY DEBATE." Are they fucking nuts??

"Willie Horton and Piss Christ..." hahahahahahahhahahhaaaaaa! God, I'm laughing my ass off. That is SO funny.

I'd forgotten that for months now Charlie Gibson has been asserting that $200,000 is a solid middle-class income, blissfully unaware that just 3.4 percent of U.S. households have an income of $200,000 or more.....

Story you'll never hear: The main tools of diversion and misinformation are no longer working as effectively...nets can't say this of course.
I must say I lost a lot of respect for MSNBC's Chuck Todd tonight with the new arab flavor mini-kerfuffle and his fanzine starry eyes for the HRC & St. McStain wing of inbred dysfunctional politics.
One word for the ABC thang: Fishy...
gives them an 'A' and Barack a 'D' plus...
Got out some zingers myself.

Notice the title was... "The Democrats Debate"
They had to be snarky and not say The Democratic Debate.

PHILADELPHIA — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton went on the attack against Senator Barack Obama on a variety of issues during a contentious debate Wednesday, warning that he would be deeply vulnerable in a general-election fight if he won the nomination.
.......Mr. McCain has already picked up many of Mrs. Clinton’s accusations against Mr. Obama and used them in his speeches and advertising.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24172845
Results show Obama won 60% hillary won 26% and neither got 15%
Go pad the numbers!
All throughout the 90 minutes there was cut-away after cut-away of Chelsea…even, early on, a cut-away of Chelsea when Senator Obama was speaking…But, I noticed no cut-aways of Michelle Obama, the girls or any Obama backers…very odd.
Also Ms Clinton’s been lookin a little saggy and wrinkled these last few weeks but not tonight…Why the girl was as tight as a trampoline…I hear she alternates a boilermaker with a Botox injection and an occasional shotgun blast..
I noticed the entire audience was lit in a cold, dim sickly green, but Chelsea had a bright, warm, rosy light on her. Whoever produced it was aiming to drain it of any passion, with that cold blue-green light on people sitting with dour looks and crossed arms, having been admonished not to applaud. I've never seen such bizarre lighting on debate audience members before.

That's why the little greek guy asks his kind of questions.....just my opinion
Does she have a hump or was that part of her dress?
More than "fishy"....

McInsane said she was the opponent he most wanted to meet in Nov
Your right , he knows what he is doing and probably figured out early on that they were trying to bait him into losing his cool and getting upset.
one that tells the truth.
And why, oh why, didn't anyone ask why he was let of jail, and how in the hell he managed to become employed (and gain tenure) as an English Professor at an American Unversity! That's the real question I would have asked if I were Obama.
I think Obama did extremely well under the circumstances. On the other hand, I think he's being tested because they know he's going to be the nominee.
John posted that early this morning. It is devastating to Clinton because it is all her OWN words Before being a candidate and now as a candidate. Talk about flip-flopper.
HRC was, as usual, preachy and screechy...Her rambling answer to the "would Obama make a good president" question turned the also-ran 1st Lady into Lady MacBeth, again, with her hilarious concluding "yes, yes, yes"...
Also curious why HRC was alloted rebuttal time during the radical pastor/arab acquaintence segment that was really more of an obvious pile-on.
ABC was playing games but will anyone call them on it.
Old shrimp-dicked Wolf Blitzer was truning cartwheels to work bitter Obama questions into unrelated interviews with Rethuglican assassins this afternoon...One assassin, Ed Gillespie, actually decided not to bite on the soft chewy Wolf tossed him.
The media's not going to feel shame and stop these efforts to manipulate...
Look for the mostly-white Heather media to continue smearing Michelle as a radical as well as anyone within 6 degrees of islamization...
Either
- so many people are unhappy with this that they crashed the server or
- (not necessarily as many) people are so upset that ABC `crashed' their own servers.
Either one makes me happy.
(Actually, I haven't seen it yet. I'm waiting to look at the Youblaarggag!)
Your Golden Boy blows it in the debate, so what do you and the other crybaby bloggers do? Do you hold Golden Boy responsible for his own performance? No, of course not! Heaven forbid.
So what do you do instead? Exactly what I expected and predicted what you would do: lash out at ABC and Hillary and blame *them* for Golden Boy's stumbling performance.
Suck it up, John, and stop being such a crybaby.
Mario
over 8,000 comments at ABC's site, and most cable news networks ALL SAID ABC sucked, so YOU are in the minority.
So speaking of patriotism, why weren't Stephanopoulos and Charlie wearing their lapel pins?
Angry crowd heckles hosts after debate.
That is just priceless.
I would even go so far as to say the crowed was "bitter."

ABC's CEO Robert Iger donated to Clinton too.
http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?...
Thanks for that link. $10.000 to Clinton.from Iger, head of Disney owner of ABC. No wonder ABC allowed that circus for a debate. You know, I think there is going to be a big backlash about ABC which will ultimately affect Clinton.

Who won the Democratic debate?
Sen. Barack Obama 19,376

It's really something else!
and stephanopoulos is a clintonite, and should have no place moderating a debate where Clinton is a participant.
i suggest George volunteer to spend a year as an in bedded reporter with a Ranger Battalion, the 82d Airborne Division or the 1st Marines. Perhaps then he might, after day to day observation be able to discern what patriotism looks like!
What a bogus bunch of water boys. Too scared to ask real questions. Too scared to actually see what the real world looks like.
http://thedeadguy.com/2008/abc-debate-analysis
Told them I'll continue getting my news and analysis on the internet...
I've lost all respect for Charles Gibson. I can't believe he conducted such a trash debate. It's not so much that I'm annoyed with how they relentlessly took it to Obama, but it's that they believe that the American people and the Democrats of Pennsylvania were best served by the questions that they asked.
That was the worst debate I've ever seen. ABC did America a disservice.
This debate was such a stupid waste of time that I cannot even describe it!
- Obama is responsible for his own performance, regardless of how much the deck was stacked against him. It wasn't his best outing, but it wasn't terrible either. But you know, being president isn't about having softballs pitched gently to you all the time, you have to be ready to handle serious adversity. So even though this debate was clearly unfair (and really poor AS a debate), it's still a reasonable way for people to assess Obama as a potential president. He still doesn't come off too badly in the end, aside perhaps from voters who think flag lapel pins are truly a serious, burning issue.
- Obama will get much worse treatment in the general election campaign, and it's likely that at least one of the debates between him and McCain will also be at least as biased as this one.
- All the experts have suggested that Clinton's only chance now is to go so negative on Obama that she damages him enough to make him appear unelectable, and she needs to do that while at the same time racking up enough wins in the remaining primaries to stay a reasonable second choice for the superdelegates. And as long as enough superdelegates stay uncommitted, this strategy still gives her a shot. So she is doing exactly what she needs to do, although her chances are highly unlikely and it's a REALLY tough tightrope to walk -- being negative enough to damage Obama while not going so negative that she turns off voters in upcoming primary states. If the positions were reversed I doubt most Obama supporters would be urging Obama to give up for "the good of the party", so I don't actually blame her for this, it's all part of the package for any politician.
- Unless and until the remaining unpledged superdelegates grow some cojones and actually declare one way or the other, the race truly is still up in the air. Clinton is getting enough signals from enough people that she still has a chance, and so she thinks it makes sense for her to keep going. So in many ways I blame the uncommitted superdelegates more than anyone else for letting this drag on.
- Either of them, Clinton or Obama, will be a far better choice than McCain, who should be the true target of everyone moderate, liberal, or progressive.
Question:
"Who has the better chance of getting elected president in November"
Answer:
Obama: 62%
Clinton: 31%
Washington Post ABC News Poll
Actually, Obama continues to poll better than Clinton in the general election match up against McCain.
You, Hillary fans, can shout "can't win" all you like, but it doesn't make it true. Clearly millions of people disagree with you.
Unfortunately for you - THE GAME IS OVER MY FRIENDS!!
A White, Male, Obama supporter & Hungry For Some PRINCIPLES!!
Tweety also trying to push HRC as "one of us"...By "us" I'm guessing he means pundits.
Also, aside from Robin Wright, just how many black on-air presenters does ABC Nooz employ?
No fair counting high yeller Barbara Walters...
Waaahhhhh!!!
If you think that was tough, wait until he has to face the Repubs.
He better grow a pair, and so should all of you.

Yes, most of it was ridiculous fluff, but that it was a full-on hitjob is the real story.
More than "fishy"....
No, a word like class will never be used to describe Hillary.
Edit/correction: I see you added Huffpo.
I don't watch tv news, so I was unaware that Gibson is a pompous, self-aggrandizing ass. Or maybe this was unusual behavior for him?
Trying to force Obama away from his cool seemed obvious. Several times I wished for him to be more forceful, but y'know what? The man knows what he is doing.
Another person's credibility shown to be myth.
Fozzie,
Thank you for the Will Bunch post link. Wow! Don't miss it people. He expresses perfectly what we all feel about the ABC hitjob tonight. His post should be linked everywhere.
Turn off ABC and let them and the sponsors of their shows know you are doing it.
Finally, thanks to all the great comments here tonight. I mean this. You helped me get through it.
