why am I not surprised?

But do you think that anything will come of this?
What's criminal, is that almost no one from this administration has been held accountable and with this toothless congress, probably no one ever will.

and who is going to do a damn thing about it?/?

more Republican criminality. expect the Democratic response to be a strongly worded letter at best.

Don't these people have anything better to do in the government? Oh right...sorry...we got elected bashing fags and dykes...right...Jerry Falwell's on hold for you, Mr Atty-General...oh right...we need to witchhunt these perverts out of the government once and for all. Right after we drape the nekked boobies on the statuary in the lobby.

BQiD... you forget... its okay to be... umm... a 'man who has sex with men' (notice I didn't say 'gay') in the GOP.
as long as you stay in the closet... or men's room stall as the case may be.
if you come out, or are percieved to BE out... you're not one of the GOP.

Exactamundo. A rentboy buddy of ours told us at a party yesterday that the Minneapolis rent boys are calling for reinforcements for the GOP convention. Apparently these guys made a killing at the 2004 in Manhattan. I wish I could afford to fly up with a hidden video system.

Oh fuck honey I haven't been able to rentboy for...well...a hundred million years. Although there ARE a few of the younger GOP who go for daddies. Mmmm let me ponder this a while.

figures... this should be a "WHOA!"
but as sexual orientation isn't included in any Federal discrimination laws...
it isn't illegal.
anyone out there who still thinks we don't need Federal protections??

Goodling is a typical incompetent weasel hired from a 3rd rate bible thumping law school. The Justice department is now full of them thanks to 8 years of Bush bullshit. We need to see her go to jail so as to intimidate the other losers they have hired.

Michael Mukasey is not about to prosecute any loyal Bushie for breaking any law. We'll have to wait for the next administration to see any prosecutions. And even then--I doubt we'll see anybody held accountable for anything. The new Washington culture prohibits it..

I expect the Bush DOJ to file charges against as many Bush administration officials as they can so Bush can grant them pardons when he leaves office, which will shut them up. They don't want the Monica Goodling's of their administration in a position to make a plea bargain to tell all the truth and or to name all the names.

I doubt it. Bush doesn't care about these clods. He was using their religious beliefs to get them to go far beyond the scope of his authority...the liberals were fodder for them. We are a trade off for their principles and what he needed them to do in reference to Iraq/trade/etc.
That's predictable. Miss Gooding can now claim she's being treated prejudicially because of her religion. That's also predictable. We have got to find a way off of this particular merry-go-round. "Ban the Bible" sounds good to me but that might not work as well as we'd like. "Teach Tolerance" works but we just learned about how right-wingers are now entering churches to shoot up the "liberals." That's also predictable.
It all puts me in mind of the so-called CIA monk in Cambodia during the early years of the Vietnam Civil war. Buddhists are prohibited from killing, most especially from taking human life. The CIA monk explained that it was fine to kill Communists because they're not really human.
The so-called Chinese Curse "May you live in interesting times" is fulfilled. But I'm afraid we've transitioned out of the "interesting" dimension into someting that's just plain demented.

In case anyone forgot, Rethuglicon Whore Goodling was given immunity from prosecution when she testified...who else was?
Nothing will come of this, you can bet. These people are getting away with murder...even if it is tangential.

Now prosecutors with integrity (if there are any in the DoJ) should plea bargain with Goodling and the others to get the evidence on higher-ups who put them up to the discriminatory actions, because we all know that these weren't "rogue" employees who violated the law without their superiors' approval or knowledge, but quite the opposite. These guys were GOP political operatives through and through, involved in "opposition research" on Democratic Party opponents.

OT (or is it) -- the Knoxville church shooter targeted a Unitarian church because Unitarians tend to be political liberals and he hates liberals. Thank you, Newt Gingrich, for declaring open season on everyone across the aisle from you.

Ummm...You need to correct your lede.
I've seen nothing that says that the asst US AG was gay, just that Goodling Thought that she was gay.

It's still discrimination, no matter how thin you slice it.
What difference does it make if she is a lesbian or not a lesbian? The question should be, is she good at here job?

I want to see her, Sampson, Gonzo, and Turd Blossom have to do the perk walk in handcuffs doing a Jimmy Baker moment. That would be worth a lot to see. Arrest them please, oh please.

So OK, now we know what we always suspected.
But the real question is, what is going to be done about it? Does ANY bush criminal administration person ever get a punishment for breaking the law?
Oh wait, Conyers is reacting to the report. Of course something will be done (eyes rolling) just like it was done with impeachment.

So what's going to happen to Goodling for breaking the law? A strongly worded letter from the Dem leadership?

HATE CRIME! There are hate crime laws for violent offenses...why not for non violent as well. This is clearly a crime against someone based on there sexual preference. Is this not a HATE CRIME?
