AMERICAblog: EPA: climate change poses risk to health and way of life

And that's exactly why we must begin offshore drilling immediately!

Al Gore is right. We must do something about this or we possibly face extinction. Definitely no more civilization. Been noticing some strange weather patterns where I stay I've never seen before.

The Bush/Cheney administration has been disgraceful. First they deny global warming (to suit their energy buddies), and now they are beginning to admit to it.
What a disaster for this country. They have deliberately ignored all warnings from around the world, and they have even prevented scientific data from reaching the American people . These criminals are worse than Nixon.
Not only have they made the US a hated country, they have made us look
backward and primitive, when it comes to science and development.
Bush and Cheney are not only responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands in Iraq, they are also going to be responsible for the slow deaths of American citizens, because of their greed and corruption.

It's a good thing after all those republicans screaming and farting on themselves during the 2000 election got bush and not Gore. I don't know what this country would have done had we not had chimpy. I shudder to think.

a mouth-breather caller told mother-breatheress Tammy Bruce on the radio today that if you believe in global warming you're a "pagan"
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
    Pat Robertson is a pagan?
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I'm a pagan and I'm about to put some pagan-o-rama on his fat ass. I can see this individual now...

If they are admitting that much I shudder to think of how bad it will really be

Since the lightning strikes of June 21, CA has had 2,000 wildfires, the most recorded yet, and creating even poorer air quality. Even NC has had wildfires early this year, something we don't see very often, esp. in the eastern part of the state.

It's funny, though, that spokespeople for Bush's EPA have been unleashed at precisely the same time as Al Gore's warning to the American public. Just as they are sending William Burns on a "diplomatic mission" to Iran at the same time that Obama is running his campaign on re-instituting diplomacy with purported "enemies" of the US.

It's already apparent to those of us who know what Bush's real legacy is that none of this is coincidental. I'm not buying any of it. Too late, you miserable POS.

Oh, and how many of these people are just outright liars?

The Governator is pissed at w, too. He said, "There is no longer anything called a fire season. It's always a fire season now."
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
The fires must be getting closer to Sacramento? Or pressure from people who really care? CA is a truly fragile state that is in a fragile state.

As if any more proof were needed that the EPA's full of Islamofascists.

Doesn't the BushCo/EPA know that all their whining will only make Phil Gramm mad?

The salt crawl into the fresh water aquifer is a little noted concern. It's happening on the Atlantic coast of the Florida peninsula, already salinating fresh water wells as much as three and four city blocks inland. It's only starting to seep in. The further inland the saltwater seeps, the faster the salination happens. The Florida peninsula's water problems are just beginning.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Some think FL will be completely under water by around the end of the century, and the whole east coast will be moved inwards, as well as other areas in the world. Depends on how fast the ice at the poles melts and raises the ocean.

Either we do something now (and even doing so may be too late) to contain the damage modern society is doing to the earth, or it's going to be very, very bad for our survivors.

There are topographical maps of sea level rises due to global warming online you can google. They have sea level rises coming all the way to Alexandria here in Louisiana. That's half the state gone.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I don't mean to cause any pain with that word and wont use it again. I can see a definite distinction so I guess that's why I've used it.

I picked up some movies for the weekend at the library on my way home from work for free. The Ice Storm with Sigourney Weaver (gay I love her), Beowulf & Grendel and Sometimes in April, about the genocide in Rwanda.

    Due back on Monday

Drive by your local library, check out some movies, pop your own popcorn and kick back with your significant other is what I say.

It only took them 8 years to turn around and admit what Gore was telling us from the start! I hope them "Christians" who got the murderous administration elected feel Good about themselves. If we do not count the hundreds of thousands needlessly killed in Iraq, we have MILLIONS world-wide who will die due to climate change (less or more rain fall on farm lands, coastal flooding, etc...). I hope those MORONS who voted for Bush are happy with the world they helped create.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
The information about global warming has been out there for decades. I think some people didn't WANT to believe it because it would cause them to look at their lifestyles. It was easier to hear the talking heads belittle anyone that brought it up.

And god forbid anyone change their consumption and driving habits.
