More about the Yule Goat
For an example of what I'm talking about:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Wolf
Of course, there are advantages to having him out there. He really is the face and voice of the party.
Anyway, after Rush's tiny chocolate birthday microphone, one quick mouth rinse and it appears, like dreams of a 1,000 year corporate reich, the taste of Bush butt was gone forever.

Come on, reporters. This one is just too easy.
While I've always advocated US ignoring them, not giving them so much attention (just like children, we encourage them by giving them attention. Just like children, their goal is the attention, and any attention is better than being ignored).
But that said, I am not so sure I have it right.
I read a lot about Hitler, and as I understand it, he was also seen as a buffoon, a little nuts, and base....appealing to the worst in humans instead of the best part of us, by the same group of people like me that now really have disdain for these guys. I mean, by many germans back in the 30, and 40's he was seen as "nutty but ultimately harmless" But we've seen the danger...in hard economic times, with the (large) section of the populace that don't go deeper than their "feelings" but thing they are logical, and fearful and mad...
And early in his career, Hitler was seen as "harmless"...that didn't turn out so well. I have no idea as to what we ought to do with that information, but mainly I think you just have to counter it every time you run into it.
Watch out for small minded, mean, narrow people. They are easy to spot, they exemplify crudeness and the worst knee-jerk side in all of us. We all have some of that side in us, but decent people tame it, see it for the sham it is.
But it entices many.
If you want to talk about similarites, start with the abomination that was the Bush administration. Similar to Nazis was the burning of the reichstag, (911), the subversion of the constitution, the law making the fuhrer above the law, or...in essence "king"...George Bush breaking laws, endorsing and instigating torture, starting wars based on lies, eavesdropping, making laws allowing military force in the US...
Yeah baby, THOSE are the similarities that COUNT!
For one thing, they were nasty fuckers, that stated outright that racial purity, and extermination of jews was the answer to their problems.
They prefer the stick to the carrot. And besides, I wasn't referring to that...I was referring to nutcases, with arrested devlopment, means streaks, and not what one would call "centered individuals" (i.e. they are nutcases, and not particularly bright, or creative, just appeal to the basest in people, not the best) can be dangerous. I wasn't calling them "the next Hitler", I was pointing out that such people, blathering as they do, can be dangerous...WHAtEVER party, or views they have.
And to say it, we don't want to be looking to Obama as saviour either, we don't NEED a saviour, we need a good leader, but we NEVER want to give ANY leader unbridled power (like Bush had taken for himself).
Also, as in Hitler, he was an "entertainer" of sorts in the beer gardens, making speeches, THEN jumped over to politics. Well, Limbaugh got Steele on his knees without seeming to have to do all that much, and that is truly a warning to us. A non-elected radio "personality" (just mean I guess counts as personality) dictating to the GOP. Wonderful...
Stewart constantly points out that he is an entertainer and not "a news person", all the while doing the REAL job (just with humor in it) that the media generally is dropping the ball on. I love when he shows so clearly the medias' lockstep in phrasing, in what to push, and all. He is also pointing out things the media ought to be..
and on top of that, he is almost always gracious, even when he gets folk like O'Reilly, or from totally opposite side of the spectrum. He is NICE to them....none of the "shut up" stuff, killing mics, conforntational bullying. He can sometimes get to a real point, but he does it gently. And with humor.
Besides, if that were true, Tony Blair would have died years ago from his association with GW Jr.
AUTO INDUSTRY, quit talking about innovations, talk about making a car that will LAST!!! (and be safe)
and, fyi there are many Toyotas...and Hondas...and Hyundais...and Mercedes...built right here in the good ol USA by Americans...so buying one really won't be putting an American out of work, just a member of the UAW that has controlled the big 3 for 40 years...
Hooo Boy, where to start...
I'll leave this one just for our amusement, but don't expect more of this nonsense to actually show up on a thread.

not some idiotic political party! it might not work. but one thing is for sure and fact. you or the experts dont know. that friend is a definate fact.
reeseman0: "Which is what, pray tell?"
KELLY: "And, it holds true just as often in politics as it does in the animal kingdom."
reeseman0: "It does, huh? I'm so sorry. . . WHAT does?"
KELLY: "To wit, whenever an alpha dog is rumored to be weak, the short list of parties with the wherewithal to contemplate, much less'execute a coup, start flexing their muscle."
reeseman0: So, Kelly ~ refresh my memory. Is Barack Obama the alpha dog? Or are we talkin':" U-S-A! U-S-A!! U-S-A!!!"
KELLY: "Obama obviously doesn't realize that he is willingly accelerating the US's descent form that position."
reeseman0: Kelly, I think you're absolutely right. I doubt very much that President Obama has ever entertained that notion. Not even for a nanosecond.
Rush was simply pointing out the ass kissing of Obama by Gordon Brown, Mr. Brown was kissing Obama’s ass not on right cheek and not on the left cheek, but right up the middle.
Live with it; that is the clucks of it all.
Rush is right on.
Come on, pal. If I could sign a $500 million contract like Rush did, you could call me names 24/7!!!
