AMERICAblog: Evangelical leader Rick Warren: I'd have a problem voting for an adulterer

  • ron071 · 1 year ago
The issue of McCain's repeated adultery(s) is well known to most , except it continues to be invisible to the MSM. Why is the John Edwards' ( non-candidate ) adultery fixated upon by the MSM while the repeated adultery by McSame is ignored? The answer to this question is quite significant as it reflects the bias of the corporate-controlled MSM.

Don't be silly, John. Adultery is only a problem if you are a Democrat. Duh.

the media pretends Cindy is McCombover's first wife. They mention Ayers, Wright but can't ever mention Carol McCain

Why is adultery such a big deal among reliigionists? Betrayal of trust? Nonsese! There are far more destructive forms of betrayal of trust, cable network contracts among them. Religionism also comes to mind but add to that contempt for the poor, an eagerness to drive away the homeless, a blind eye towards starvation and . . . most evil of all from my perspective . . . voting Republican.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
. . . and homophobia, racism, sexism, etc.
Voting Republican is most evil of all.

No no no no! You don't get it at all! They are talking about Obama messing with Angela Davis as in the cartoon a couple weeks ago. Obama is the adulterer what so turns their stomachs. When Obama moves into the White House, he will share his bedroom with Angela Davis.

Got this from a friend, Loren Adams, who runs AmeriVoice:

    "IF I WERE A TERRORIST

If I were a terrorist, I wouldn’t use planes or bombs to kill folks. Hell’s bells, that’s too risky. You might get caught or killed or both. Real terrorists get results — then they lay the blame where it can’t be found. So here’s what I would do if I were a terrorist.

I would foreclose on millions of homes. You know, kick folks out of their houses. I would devalue the dollar so the price of everything would go up. I would outsource their jobs so they couldn’t find work. I would move factories to foreign countries so corporations could profit from cheap labor. I would make education unaffordable — terrorists don’t like having educated people around. I would make health care extremely difficult to get and let the insurance companies get away with murder. I would listen to people’s phone calls, monitor their e-mails and use that information to really stick it to them. Then I would give myself a big old tax cut and sit back in luxury and watch them fight over the crumbs.

But you know what? We live in the United States of America, and the people who represent us would never let them get away with it... Would they?

    Funny.

James Dobson and the other Fundies seem to love adulterers.

I think Warren would vote for McCain. These republicans always have "exceptions to the rule" when it involves one of their own.

I've noticed a huge hesitancy of our press to ever say the White House lies. They refer to it obliquely, but never just outright say it when its so obvious they mean, "The White House LIED." For some reason, they give McCain the same kind of latitude and respect. They treat the man as if he is already President and deserves some kind of deference. They won't call a spade a spade with him. On the other hand, there is nothing oblique about the way they treat Obama. In fact, they treat Obama like a caracature. They lambast him every chance they get, then snicker about the Obama campaign's outrage. The media seems to act as if their paycheck depends on helping Republicans while making fun of Democrats. Oops - I might be on to something...

The press needs to come right out and say it, and stop dancing around the subject of adultery. If they are going to have some fun with the Edward's adultery then McCain's whole tawdry history needs to be thoroughly discussed!

"Others like him" obviously refers to Bill Clinton. John McCain is a war hero.

Why do you hate the troops?

    Republican Response: Accomplished.

Even more so now will the media continue to ignore it. They are in the throws of having heart beatings over the Manly McCain now that Bush and McCain's little henchmen are trying to start a war with Russia. They know the press is too shallow to see underneath all of it and are dewy eyed over the big strong cowboys standing up to big bad Russia.
Nevermind this was ginned by whispering in Georgia's ear to create a crisis to undermine the democrats and Obama.
so, yes, they will continue to give Free Pass McCain a wide path to the white house.

It's going to be like W's coke snorting. When he was young and foolish, he did foolish things. Republicans are forgiven for all wrongs. Dems aren't.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
as a former adulterer, I support this message.

    Famous adulterers:

    Ronald Reagan
    Newt Gingrich
    Bob Dole
    George HW Bush
    Larry Craig
    David Vitter

    and the beat goes on.

we're not allocated enough space for me to post my list of republican sex offenders (mostly pedophiles).

its also hard to keep it up to date as they're usually not reported nationally... so my list is probably shorter than the actual cases.

"If adultery is an important issue to you, then McCain is not your candidate". It's that simple. Amplify, rinse and repeat.

Hannity was trying to pre-empt the McCain adultery talk by saying he was traumatized by his POW experience, so that makes it OK that he cheated on his first wife. Who doesn't remember the 'POW exception' in their wedding vows?

Don't forget we've gone through the last eight years of fanatical Repig support for a drug-taking, draft-dodging deserter, after they excoriated Bill Clinton with those same claims. Not to mention impeachment for trivia in the Clinton years, followed by excuses for massive lawbreaking and corruption when they have power. Repigs are hypocritical criminal scum.

Again: John McCain was not an adulterer: he was a wounded hero-victim who needed "healing" and "comfort" from giving, wonderful women when he returned to an ungrateful nation that spat on him. His wife couldn't give that to him, since she was disabled. He was so in need of healing and comfort the process needed almost 10 years to make his broken body whole again. And Cindy appeared like a divine spirit to give the poor, broken man his zest for life again. She was his balm in Gilead.
Breck Girl, on the other hand, was and is just a sleazy ambulance chaser. And a Democrat.

And as Ann Coulter points out, he's a fag. Huh?
  • Joneses · 1 year ago
Warren will vote for McCain. One thing I have learned about these so called evangelists, they say one thing and do the opposite. They lie just as well. Look at (I can't think of his name) who was preaching against gays.

I know that some are up and up, but most are not. They are just as greedy, power hungry and sinful. Look at the GOP. I don't think God would be pleased.

Jenna Bush's pastor rips McCain a new one--

"Well, I don't know a lot about John McCain's family history, I do know, however, that as recently as last week I think it was, the Senator made a comment in South Dakota regarding his wife entering some Buffalo Chips contest which is this topless deal and if she were to enter she would probably win it and my personal opinion and based on my understanding of the Christian faith, that's not not, N-O-T, not the type of expression that a presidential candidate, or anyone for that matter who is a follower of the Christian faith, ought to make," said the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell. "I don't know if that is a perfect case in point, but it surely does help to juxtapose the DNA of Senator Obama, if you would, versus the DNA of Senator McCain."

exactly... I agree with the Rev.

'hey honey, show the guys your tits' isn't exactly a Christian slogan...

at least, it isn't used in public... without cash changing hands.

    Warren scares me.

Having said that, his answer to the first question Mr. Tapper asked in that linked story sounded reasonable coming from a xtian leader. Nothing inflammatory like most of his ilk.

John, based on the excerpt you printed McCain has nothing to worry about - the key phrase is "trust needs to be earned back over time." And surely McCain - an American hero - has done that, etc., etc. That's obviously going to be the line of defense in the extremely doubtful event that the Dems succeed in making this an issue. And since forgiveness over time is the way people actually handle this sort of crisis in the real world (as opposed to faux outrage media world) it's a pretty good rhetorical strategy. Republicans get to act all shocked and sanctimonious, but if the Dems ever try the same stuff back Republicans respond with an appeal to sanity and forgiveness over time. Typical bully stuff - damned if you do, damned if you don't.
