AMERICAblog: Even Karl Rove says McCain is lying

  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
So in essence, Rove is admitting he himself is a liar. Seeing as how he (Rove) is the driving force behind the McCain campaign.

Things are getting too surreal all around.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Although his claim that BOTH sides have gone over the line resonates with the corporate media. Expect this: Why is the Obama campaign being so nasty and untruthful about McCain?! He's a war hee-ro and POW, and now Obama is mocking him because it hurts his shoulders so much to send email! The shoulders that were broken and maimed by those nasty gooks! (as McCain calls them).
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
Rove: i am lying about the lying liars but it sounds good...

P.S. I still want to see either McBush or Paliln blow up--from what I understand, both have volcanic tempers. Did anyone, for instance, see the eye tic on Palin when Gibson asked her the first question? (In all fairness, it could have been her third eyelid...)

    KKKarl can go f*ck himself.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
You know Karl...you really ought to try calling Jenny Craig one of these days. You are a nice wide tracker-cracker and much easier to hit with a thirty eight.

    LMAO

I love this. The motherfucker who is running McCain's campaign says he is going to far. I vow everyday that there is nothing the Republicans can do or say that will surprise me and guess what. Every single day of the week they surprise me. They believe in nothing they respect nothing, they throw friend and foe under the wheels of a tractor trailer, they spout lies like puke from a new born, the contradict themselves, they forget what they said 5 minutes earlier, they are unaccountable for anything they do.
The Republican party is like a Stephen King thriller you just have to awake everyday to see if they can top themselves and they do.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Rove should be speaking from prison.

And I don't believe nor trust anything he says....there is a motive behind every word
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
Even though Obama cancelled his SNL appearance in deference to the situation in Texas, Mcbush is attending a Nascar race in NH today. And Rethugs are crucifying Obama for cancelling it as a political move.

So, it's OK to whore yourself out to gas wasting idiots, I suppose. But they'll lap it up...like the ignorant pigs they are, lipstick and all.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
NASCAR trumps church in NH -- for a lot of people.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
A lie told by a liar on a news channel that tells nothing but lies.

Hmmm, what is it about that scenario that just doesn't seem right?

And what IS he doing with his hands in that still of the video? Nobody believes it is that big. ANOTHER lie.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
think about what he said. it means nothing. how does anyone "go beyond the 100% truth test?" Nothing is more than 100% true. He didn't say some of the things were LESS than 100% true. The lie is that many of them are totally NOT true.
  • Kansaskitty · 1 year ago
    WTF??! Pot...meet kettle?

There's more to this than meets the eye....
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
False statements, known to be false and given with the intention to deceive, shall be called LIES, regardless of who makes them.

Professional journalists could keep this in mind.
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
Machiavellian that he is, Rove, a cynical and dirty strategist, has been embraced by the McBush camp with open arms, of course.

Take everything he says with a grain of salt because you know every word he utters has consequences for his perceived "enemies" -- the American people. There is not one thing positive about about political quacks like him.
  • nicho · 1 year ago
Yeah -- KKKarl Rove is such a fan of truthiness. The guy can no longer tell the truth from a lie.

All I want to know is what he has up his sleeve. This election is not going to proceed the way it's been going for the next six weeks. Something big, unexpected, and probably dirty is going to happen before election day.
  • boloboffin · 1 year ago
When Rove says 100% truth test, he means truthiness exactly.
  • Joneses · 1 year ago
That measns that Rove will start attaching Dems for being untruthful thru the corporate media. It wouldn't surprise me. Watch your backs Dems!
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
FAIR AND BALANCED. What a guy.
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
    As Cheney would say: "So?"

They lie. They admit they lie. They don't care if we know they're lying.
They do it because they know it works, facts be damned.

Repeat anything, true or false, enough times, and it sticks with people.
Mass hypnosis mind games are what they're perpetrating on the American people.

Lies and a complicit media are what got us into Iraq.
Should we now be shocked that they're lying?
Rove doesn't care about the truth. He cares about winning.
    Period.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
You pointed out the scary part of the last couple of elections. You can document a candidate's lies and the Repubs won't believe it. Not only that, they'll be citing the lies as reasons for voting for Repubs during the next election. What on earth can be done about people like that?
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
What can be done, you ask?

We need to drown out the lies with the TRUTH.

It's not enough to say 'liar, liar, pants on fire' again and again.
It's not enough to alert the media and demand they do some real journalism/reporting, or to expect them to play fair. (Again, they played a huge role in getting us into Iraq.)
People will get outrage fatigue, then desensitized and they will tune out.

    What CAN be done?

We need to negate and drown out the lies with the TRUTH!
We need to repeat the truth louder and more often than the lies.
We need ads that are aimed at both left and right brain, AND the gut for added impact. (The Planned Parenthood ad is a good example, though it could have been even stronger.)

We need to play their game of manipulating the media by making the ads impactful and borderline controversial so that they will be played ad infinitum for free.

That's what can be done for starters.

Also, we need to grab the headlines back.
Notice that as we point out lie after lie after lie, we're not talking about much else?
    Iraq?
    Homeless Veterans?
Social Security/Medicare that McCain and Palin want to cut and privatize?
    Health care?
    Gas prices, lob losses, inflation......?

Nope, all those issues have gone 'away' because we're too busy saying 'liar, liar!' (not that it's not important to point out the lies, but we shouldn't be manipulated into only talking about that.)
    That's also by (Rove's) design.
One thing the man is not is stupid.
  • AlaskanWannaB · 1 year ago
I totally agree with you. I did not know my fellow Americans were sooooooo stupid. Do they think this is a game. People lives are at stake. People are losing their homes and jobs but are still willing to vote for someone that lies. But, naturally, when McCain disappoints them...it will somehow bee the Democrats fault. I am so disappointed in so many of my fellow Americans.
  • ezpz · 1 year ago
    I hear you, AlaskanWannaB.

I feel the same frustration as you that people are falling for this, but when you step back and look at it, it's clear what's going on.
Rove is a genius and excels in his line of work of dirty politics.

He's using effective marketing techniques, which boils down to little more than mass hypnosis and mind games.

Successful marketing relies on some basic facts: One needs to hear something at least 30 times, but needs only to see it 7 times before it permeates the psyche. (That's why tv ad time is so much more expensive than radio).

The added touch is going for the visceral emotional reaction such as fear (national security, wolves, black man gonna getcha, etc), anger (black Barack picking on pretty white Sarah, being 'disrespectful' to her, or black Barack eyeing those kindergarten kids in the sex education ad)...you get the idea.

So it's a basic formula: visual + audio + basal emotion = an effective ad, the lie factor being irrelevant here. The only thing missing so far is the need to mass distribute it (and for free). That's where the media comes in.
They play that ad (as they debunk the lies of course) ad infinitum.
    Mission accomplished.

So in all fairness, it's really not the voters faults. They're being manipulated via their collective subconsciousness and right brain, forces often stronger than the ability to reason.
Hence, people vote against their own best interest.

We need to do the same, but with facts and truths.
Then WE can claim and celebrate "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!".

    Obama/Biden'08
    Yes we can!
  • AlaskanWannaB · 1 year ago
Wow! Rove never ceases to amaze me. However, our country seems to be okay with liars. Bush lied and started the war with Iraq. McCain wants to go down in history by starting his own war. Why would a 72-year old man who has millions want to become President at all cost? I think it has to do with the disappointment that McCain's old man had regarding something that McCain did as a POW. Does he want to outdo his father and grandfather, both Admirals, by becoming President. And, the f%$* with the American people. McCain seems to be willing to sell his soul to become President.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
McCain seems to be willing to sell his soul to become President.

McCain sold his soul. McCain didn't read the fine print. His soul belongs to Satan win or lose. He sold out for Satan's help, not for the victory.
  • AlaskanWannaB · 1 year ago
    You are so right, LOL.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i don't think Rove banked on the media starting to call McCain a liar.

he's trying to reel the line back in now, but it's too late, my friends.
the ratfucker is about to see how it feels...
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Like all bullies and cowards Rove is backtracking to avoid personal involvement. Never seen if fail, they will run for high ground when the going gets tough.
  • zieras · 1 year ago
No Mr. Rove Obama is the one who has gone too far!

    http://www.boston.com/news/politics/2008/articl...

An article about why McCain can't use a keyboard - war injuries in his hands.

Obama you should be ashamed of yourself.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Awe, bunk! McCain can't use a computer because his handcap is he's too lazy, too senile to learn. My cousin is a 2 fingered typist as he never learned to type and think he is too old to learn now. There are others who don't have hands and type with a chopstick held in their mouth, or with their tongue on a touch pad in their mouths, others hit the keys with their noses and some even have rigged glasses that can read their eye movements so they can use a computer. If he wanted there are are voice command software so that McCain can tell the computer verbally what he wants. McCain always falls back on the POW, POW, POW, bullshit. Whatever the reason, if he can't use a computer, which is the primary source of information today, he is ignorant, uniformed and unqualified to lead this nation of 350 million, but even worse, unqualified to be the leader of the world of 7.5 billion people.

We already had one ignoramus who left the nation and the world in a horrible, horrible mess. We certainly don't need another.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
I know two people with severe Cerebral Palsy and one with advanced Parkinson's Disease that live on their computers. McCain doesn't use a keyboard because he isn't curious enough about today's world to learn to use a computer.

As if Rove has ever cared about the truth.

If anyone knows what's sleazy, it's Karl Rove, since it's been reported nearly everywhere that he's the driving force behind the McCain/Palin character assassinations of Barak Obama, and since he was Bush's schlockmeister in the 2004 race, accusing McCain's adopted Bangladeshi daughter of being his "biracial love child." But Rove's going to far when he also accuses Obama of sleaze. Obama has held to the high road, and it's done him no more good than it did Jimmy Carter, who stuck to the issues of the debates while a smirking 2nd-rate actor repeatedly said: "There you go again" and somehow endeared himself to the millions who elected him. It was his election that really began this nation's slide, with a semi-effective respite during the Clinton years, but a sharp return when George Bush was elected.
Karl Rove is an evil, conscienceless hack who doesn't care what effect his destructive actions have on this country. Surely he is among the rich whom Obama will tax, while giving tax breaks to those earning under $250K yearly, and that's one reason he's also putting the "gone too far" onto Obama, too.
Wonder how McCain/Palin have offended him that he would actually criticize them. Maybe they won't be as nasty as he wants them to be, but I doubt that. No, something else has happened to breach that snuggly relationship. I wonder if we'll ever know what.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Rove is full of shit! McCain can't use a computer because he's a man out of step with the times. I hope the Obama campaign doesn't fall for this.
  • ydthin · 1 year ago
    huh?

wtf is going on here, next Karen Hughes will show up calling Palin a hussy. I don't get it.
