There she goes again! Hillary keeps taking pages from the Bush Rove playbook. We wouldn't have the disastrous Bu$h regime if they hadn't been able to manufacture enough votes in Florida, with Jeb's help, to steal the election. This take no prisoners, scorched earth shit has got to stop with her campaign!

prove that not counting florida and michigan's illegally selected delegates under rules agreed to by all candidates "cedes these two states to Republicans in the fall". bullshit.
Real Clear Politics does have Clinton in the popular vote lead now when counting all votes cast. If you try to disallow votes you will start to find yourself falling into Bushspeak..
Popular vote doesn't decide the outcome though, and that's why we got Bush instead of Gore. Likewise popular vote isn't the ultimate decider between Obama and Clinton.

actually that's not accurate. it's irrelevant to the process. maybe someday that will be changed, but this nomination is going to the candidate with the most delegates - and obama will probably have that sewed up by the end of may if not sooner.

Actually, if anything, I think that Geffen understated the issue when he said that all politicians lie. The plain and simple truth is that they not only lie, they practically *need* to lie if they want to have a prayer of being elected. This is largely because many if not a large majority of voters are unfortunately not all that interested in hearing the truth. Let's face it...the definition of a successful politician in this country is the one who's able to coax a positive (or at least less negative) response from a majority of the voters and sustain that as long as possible. It doesn't have anywhere nearly as much as it should -- in fact, very little -- to do with excellence in leadership and has a lot to do with the people's irrational desire to believe that it's possible to get something for nothing and that action can take place without consequence even though they KNOW that this is not how the world works. It's been said time and time again, but it bears repeating...in a free society, we get the leaders we deserve and not necessarily the ones we need.
Despite our capacity for logic and reason, human beings are still animals -- and like all other animals, human beings have an almost instinctive desire to seek pleasure and avoid pain. If I may use one of my favorite movies as an analogy, when offered a choice between the blue pill (a comfortable illusion) and the red pill (an ugly or frightening truth), the fact is that a great many human beings will invariably seek refuge in the blue pill unless or until the stress of cognitive dissonance becomes so intense that the person finds it impossible to remain in denial and the illusion crumbles. Politicians know all this very well -- and unfortunately, until such time as more people are willing to take more responsibility for themselves and listen to what they need to hear instead of only what they want to hear, politicians will continue to lie to us. This is actually one of the reasons why I'm firmly in agreement with two of my favorite writers (Douglas Adams and JK Rowling) when it comes to politics -- those who most desire to lead other people should probably not be allowed to do the job.

As a Michigan voter, it's beyond infuriating that she keeps throwing salt in the wound. As far as I'm concerned, none of the slate of candidates deserves a single vote from us - that's the message they've all sent, from the state party all the way up the flagpole, so I guess we are expendable.
Good luck with that. I fully expect St. BBQ to win Michigan handily in the general thanks to this persistent wankery - the west side of this state has enough rabid Republicans to ensure this outcome. Enjoy watching the big Mitten turn scarlet! Ya dumb fucks.

Two more weeks of cable nooz sinking to deeper lows and camcorder footage of angry race and fear-baiting Clintonian finger jabbing...It's all the wingers can talk about. If it wasn't for The Daily Show & Colbert highliting his age and naps, McStain would be getting zero play. Love to see another of Bill's legacy favs get tweaked by an obvious Obaman or an ordinary audience questioner so as to provoke more angry camcorder footage. I'm hoping for anger as Bill manouvers his full tray away from a crowded buffet. You know, there's money in a real, real Bill Clinton reality show...if only he wasn't aware of the cameras!!! So will the candidates give CBS, Katie and Bush pal Bob Schieffer a broadcast chance to drag the old analog media deeper into the pit than ABC's recent sad effort???

Nine point losses are normally considered "landslides" in politics. Obama may have peaked too soon. If this is the case, then the North Carolina primary should shed some light since there are a lot of Reagan democrats in NC who may get energized to vote for Hillary.

Because Republicans will remind voters in those two states that Obama tossed them overboard when it was convenient for him. He can campaign on the "illegal delegates" issue but I doubt it's going to be very successful. I'll make you a wager. I bet Obama doesn't commit more than token resources to Florida. She is disengenuous to count Michigan and Florida votes. But, she may turn out right in the long run because there are several compromises in the works to count those votes. For the DNC to piss off the democrats in the state of Florida would be to hand the election to McCain.
