AMERICAblog: Failed GOP economic policy hurting business

  • Zorba · 1 year ago
But......but.....there is no recession. Bush and McSame have told us so! The owners of these businesses are a bunch of whiners. Or it's their own fault because they got drunk. Or something.

Ironically, most REAL economists (as opposed to the corporate cheerleaders on CNBC) vote Democratic:

Chris in Paris, I don't know if you read comments, but please take a look at http://www.fedupusa.org/

Somewhat ironically many of the people behind this are hard-core conservatives (and many aren't, like me), but we are all on a common goal that transcends the aisles. The video is compelling and frightening at the same time.

They voted for shrub twice. They can call themselves conservatives all they want but they're wingnuts. They got us into this fucked up situation and now insist on leading us out. Fuck that noise. They can eat shit and die.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Anybody who voted for Bush isn't a conservative.

They're either a Neocon, a Supply Sider or a Fundie.

But they're not a classic conservative.

    Yeah, what Bush_Bites said.

I would be considered "conservative" if it actually meant what the word implies. fuck this partisan shit; we're talking about the future of our country.

    As CNN puts it:

"President Bush inherited a budget surplus of $128 billion when he took office in 2001 but has since posted a budget deficit every year." (http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/28/2009.def...)

The fun is just beginning...wait until the Fed raises interest rates to fight inflation.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Glad Volcker is on Obama's side.

He was the last Fed Chairman to deal with double-digit inflation and interest rates.

It was a painful couple of years, but he set the stage for the boom years to come.

(Until Bubbles Greenspan fucked it up.)

"But don't forget, the Republicans know economics"

Exactly. And the GOP leadership has intentionally brought about this economic destruction of the Middle Class.

With the help of the Democratic 'leadership', to be sure! Voting McCain will ensure more of the brazen fiscal irresponsibility that has brought our once-great nation to this brink of total destruction. Voting Democratic, may just pull us back from the edge.

Oh....I hope Kaine learns to control his eyebrow.

    That is very distracting.

(Frankly, if Obama's going to go for a moderate white bread type, I think he should just pick Evan Bayh. At least it will keep the Hillbots off his back and may deliver Indiana.)
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I think that the "powers that be" in the Dem party are going to make him pick Hillary (the other 'white' meat) That's probably his only path to victory...
  • LunaStick · 1 year ago
And just think, McCain wants to implement the Phil "you whiners!" Gramm's economic policy that he wrote for McCain.

OT: If anyone here wants to poke a stick in the sides of a few PUMA people, join me here where they are trying to prove that Obama is not a US citizen....Seriously.

You think... we might all ask our Grandparents and our Moms & Dads what we're all in for...

Given that many of them still remember what the great depression was all about!

Anyone out there still thank bush and company shouldn't be impeached!
