This ponzi is so grotesquely large that justice systems the world over would never run out of potential defendants to try. Which goes to the point that greed tends to be a rather basic human disposition and is to be found almost everywhere. Even in jurisdictions in which the regulation is quite rigourous (and I am writing from one), great ingenuity is expended to get around the surveillance and the admonitions to be lawful. Ginning up a scheme as a mortgage mutual fund, and then adding additional tiers of funds of mortgage mutual funds and insuring the lot for loss and reselling those contracts as well, and so on, was always there as a possibility. What changed was the deliberate and criminal generation of dead-on-arrival mortgages for the working poor. If laws always lag ingenuity what then is the lesson? Perhaps it is that bubbles are deeply human in their origins, the triumph of aspiration over pedestrian reality. The South Sea Bubble, the tullip craze, the Scottish Panama Canal fiasco.... these things keep happening and ordinary citizens keep getting ruined as a direct consequence of believing what various bankers, investment brokers, and indeed government officials tell them. In contrast, starting out with the presumption of malfeasance afoot in all large financial institutions would seem to be the only prudent course of action.

There are three solid values: gold, oil and property. Now, if you price reduce one of them it's obvious the other two shoot up. I don't know why Bush is so sure to fuel the disevaluation of the property price with flooding 700 bio in by buying old credits. Its nonetheless obvious that the inflation will rise immediately. There is a certain multiplicator to the 700 bio. Because you influence the property value, I would estimate the 700 bio as 1.4 trillion in just "printed money" without any proper equivalent. So there is an additional 1.4 tri $ in the system that will fuel the inflation meaning: the money came just into the system and not having been spent as a wage for workers for example. Its just a fucking money bubble. Workers produce goods. There wasnt produced a shit. Its equivalent-less money. And sth about Bernankes bla that this will fuel the GDP. These are old credits. The money has been spent for long. This wont fuel consumption.
And heck! what will they do when they get a hyperinflation? How to increase money value? What will they do? Call Ford and tell them: your workers need to produce 3 cars instead of 1 for the same money? I mean Thatcher and Reagan sold all the state companies. This is totally decoupled. They cannot influence the wage system anymore.

I couldn't agree more. Why announce it now? Because the Bush regime is asking for a huge bailout of it's crooked cronies on Wall St. and want's to pretend they care about the fraud that was committed. Might make it easier for some congress members to support the bailout.

What that means is that if you’re a college kid (and college kids now - they’re sending in absentee ballots - they’re not going to the voting place, they do everything online or they do everything remotely - they don’t dream of going to the precinct house voting on election day and waiting in a long line) so if they send in the absentee ballot and they don’t include a color copy of their license their vote is going to be thrown into a trash can. And none of these people know this because you have had to read the law in order to know it. So there is no notification for when you fill out your registration form, so all of those 12 million people that the Democrats have registered: those ballots are going to be just thrown out.
