AMERICAblog: Federal deficit will more than double this year

  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
"annual deficits could balloon to as much as 5 percent of the economy, rivaling the dark fiscal days of the early-1990s and those of the Reagan administration..."

Obviously not a quote from the Republican convention about the glorious Reagan era.

Let's get Biden talking about how much this deficit will cost each American citizen.

Let's see. . .3.4 Trillion divided by 300 million (approximate US population) equals 1.1 million and change for each US citizen. Each working dad, working mom, and non-working child. And don't forget Duby's favorite 3-job working mom in middle america.

Seems like it shouldn't be that hard to make this a campaign issue.

You realize of course that they will blame this on the Democrats because they've controlled Congress since early 2007....

it's not "only" 407 billion this year, add the 600 or so for soc sec and medicare surplus being counted as "revenue" against the budget as a whole, and it's a trillion dollars in the red
