Oh, this IS rich. And exactly who would "Palin's people" be?
If true about Romney, that would give the MSM 4 years in which to delve into the cult of Mormon, also.
I'm convinced that Rethugs are all extremists of one form or another.

It seems the Christian right Republicans are getting spanked on a cosmic scale. May it continue straight through November 4th. If they're not taking each other to the woodshed, they can't seem to get out of their own way. The demand for power too great, they consume each other like the snakes they are and for all of us to see. Given their behavior and ill intent to govern, it begs the question...
What in the hell is wrong with Utah, Idaho and Oklahoma? 30+ point leads for McCain? according to Pollster.com. WTF???

Utah is the most Republican state in the Union. Most Presidential elections, it is 70/30 for the Republican. I think the last time Utah went Democratic was in 1936, but correct me if I am wrong.

The Mormon Party might not be an especially good thing for the nation. Consider what they have wrought in their support for Proposition 8 in California or their more discreet but equally effective support for Amendment 2 in Florida. I can't think why the list of companies that Mittens has CEO'd [is that a correct verb?] is not on liberal watch lists. They poured cash into his campagin and, no doubt, are also pouring cash into other Mormon political moves. The Mormon Religion is much like the Catholic Religion in that under the cloak of good works lies a pervasive political purpose, (although I'm doubtful that the Mormons fully support the restoration of the Hapsburg Monarchy).

it is interesting... this really is the first time I can remember that the mormon church has ACTIVELY become involved in political policy change.
usually the mormons were the one 'chri$tian' group who kept to themselves.

Not true, Jeff.
One example of the Mormon church funding and directing their members to vote against something that does not further their white, supposedly straight, male dominated interests is the Equal Rights Amendment (of the 60s or 70s) that was voted state by state and ultimately failed largely because of this church's actions.

Office Max, Fuji Film, Sport Authority, Publix Grocery are among the listed supporters of Mitt Romney in his Florida campagin along with other, directly owned by the LDS of Salt Lake City, Florida ventures such as Deseret Ranch and the Harmony City development. I don't know that this is a new development in the practice of the Mormon religion, 'twas ever thus in Florida.
Usually, the church stays well in the background with the donations coming from cut-outs such as the business ventures I mentioned. The shift has been in that the cut-outs are being recognized as directed by the LDS church out of Salt Lake City.
It's like an old re-run of StarWars: you can see the strings holding the plastic space ships in place. In a way, it's amusing. In another way, it's distressing.

As much as I think Mitt Romney is a obvious phony who would have alienated a bunch of people, how smart would John McCain looked (or should I say, how much credit would the media have given him) if the financial crisis happened and he had picked a financial sector guy as his running mate instead of Forrest Gump?
Something about the words "republican" and "diva" describing the same person just doesn't seem to work. Leave it to a republican to call somebody like Sarah Palin a diva - because she is just soooooo glam!!!!!!

If Sarah bought the clothes she was wearing yesterday at a "consignment shop" I will eat my hat. The first thing my 80 year old mom in law said was "That didn't come from a consignment shop" "If it did I want to shop there".
Even the 2nd hand clothes she wears are overpriced. A little doggy sweaty only $45.00. Sarah might need and xxxl on that item.

I would like to know was it a snippy female or male describing this? Or is it the process of the male trying to talk to the female about issues using male technotalk and not female multitalk. Big difference don't you know. I am personally appalled people are so critical about Sarah Palin in a gender biasis way. I think she is refreshing. I think she knows how to multitask and keep priorities in perspective.
lynchie

Give me one reason you feel she can multitask and keep priorities in perspective. Her current priority should be her special needs baby who seems to be being cared for by her pregnant daughter or worse her very young daught.

Then simply answer my question. Give me one example which shows her ability to multitask (beyond being able to repeat previously written talking points) and one example of how she keeps her priorities in perspective (beyond using her children as pawns in a Presidential campaign).
debbifei
Why would you make such outrageous accusations about something you can not be absolutely certain about? Why is her baby only her responsibility? Do you know the dynamics of her family? Do you know the relationship between Sarah and her husband. I would not be so presumptuous.
lynchie
Well i have yet to see Todd actually hold the baby. The dynamics of her family are as well known to me as to you since you can't produce one piece of evidence that shows the special needs child is her top priority. As for the relationship between her and Todd she had an affair with his business partner (http://www.realchange.org/palin.htm) which might be called the dynamics of the realtionship. You are being presumptuous in presenting the argument that she is a multi tasker and has her priorities in order since you can't present a single concrete piece of evidence. Indeed my comments are not any more outrageous than your presumptions of innocence.
Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood)
It really is a shame that her priorities are so wrong. I agree that she does have an incredible ability to be wrong on so many issues at the same time. It really is difficult to decide which child she is going to use as a media shield every day. Her stand on abortion is so pro-women. Her vision is amazing, like superwoman she can see Russia through the mountains. She juggles the Republican lies with the best of them. Talk about multitasking!

Sarah Palin (and lots of other women) are smart enough to realize that abortion is no favor to women. It is not a huge logical feat to realize that abortion is tailor-made to empower loser males looking to find one more compliant sycophant to satisfy his lust. Yeah, that's what women want to be. . .You want to have sex with M-E-E-E? Sure I'll risk my health so you can be a playboy. Why wouldn't I kill my child for you? And some call this progress for women. Amazing!
Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood)

The law is that it is a legal option. No one but the woman involved should "decide".
onsecondthought
Yes, legal. Next the poor hapless female will need the right to decide to kill her born children in her desperate attempt for male approval. Maybe Casey Anthony will spearhead that power move for you. Go, girl!
Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood)
That is called a strawman argument, where you set up an unlikely and false scenario and then use your own talking points to easily knock it down.
onsecondthought
It is neither unlikely nor false; it has already happened--Susan Smith (convicted) and Casey Anthony (accused), and there have been more. First hormonal birth control was IT. Then the poor persecuted female had to be able to kill her pre-born child. She is still downtrodden, and has begun taking the desperate measure of giving birth and abandoning or killing her neonate, and increasingly is killing even older children. It is sounding more and more like the "desperation" of the back-alley abortion, the preamble to our current legal abortion. It is a crisis of parenting that females are conditioned to 1) behave foolishly and 2) make others pay the price for their stupidity. It is no boon to women to cater to their weakest, most ill-conceived reactions to difficulty. (Talking points???)
Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood)
Let us see, they are convicted and accused so it must be murder to kill living children. Whereas abortion is a medical procedure. Birth control is not abortion. If I understand you correctly, the only choice a woman should have is to abstain or have children. And by doing this she empowers herself, rebels against the evil man's control, even if she never wanted to give birth in the first place? It is the same old claptrap reworded into high sounding words. To empower the woman you would remove her right to control her own medical choices.
JohnInTexas

She rambles like a third grader who got called on to answer a question she doesn't have a clue about and the only priorities she seems to keep in perspective the ones that would benefit her the most. I don't know what is refreshing about her moving from one KKK rally to another saying the same old tired lies and smears. I AM happy she finally moved past that whole bridge to nowhere BS though.

McCain is going to lose the election, but he isn't a spent force in the Republican party, neither is President Bush. They will have their say on who will be RNC Chairperson, and if Romney or his cronies are backstabbing a party candidate before the election, it will be noted.
Romney is only going to get power by raising money for the people he needs support from.
If I were Romney, I would tell his former aides to be quiet until after the election. This is sort of Lamar Alexander going to Iowa the day after 1996 election.
