AMERICAblog: Founder of group Palin courted professed "hatred for the American government"; cursed "damn flag"

  • kirkaracha · 1 year ago
Michelle Obama had to prove her patriotism because of an awkwardly-phrased sentence in a speech. Sarah Palin was in an organization that wants to secede from the United States. Will she have to prove she loves her country in her speech?
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
    um, no.

She is a white woman. her love of country is assumed.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
OH yes folks. Here is more of the Alaskan Independence party. Apparently they think they had more rights under soviet law: Read on: (taken from the AIP website:)

America has only avoided a gigantic public upheaval at the time by this concealment. They have just delayed it. If the Soviet Constitution reserves to the Republics, "...the right freely to secede from the U.S.S.R..", as it does in Article 72, and the Politburo does provide a plebiscite to separate peacefully as Secretary Gorbachev has promised, surely America can and will do no less under our reserved right, " to modify this status through expression of their will by democratic means." General Assembly Resolution 742, Third Part, General (2) Freedom of Choice. Or is America above the law that it pioneered the establishment of through the United Nations Charter?

Traitor, treasonous, bitch. sorry girls, I said it. :-)

If Palin hates America this much, perhaps she should leave it.......and us. Please.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Palin's first VETO was to deny health benefits to state emplyees' gay and lesbian partners........ Nice family values.

It is my mission in life to see her go down in flames.
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
Obviously, she was never properly vetted by the PTA.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
you guys are killing me tonight!
  • voxbear · 1 year ago
please excuse me if this has already been raised tonight, but have read somewhere in the blogs this weekend that Todd Palin has been sitting in on sensitve meetings dealing with energy policy for his wife while still on the BP payroll. That sure sounds to me as though we have found the final whole to sink this ship......
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
No way.....wow, this is huge. I am not surprised.....any source on this? I want to substantiate it......this is good.
  • falloch · 1 year ago
Try looking in http://progressivealaska.blogspot.com or http://mudflats.wordpress.com.They've had lots of good stuff, and loads of links. My partner doesn't recall seeing anything about Todd sitting in on meetings (though there might be), but Todd was apparently receiving the emails that the enrgy policy group was exchanging.

MSNBC just reported the NYT will have a retraction of the Palin AIP story tomorrow. Seems the woman who originally talked to the Times has recanted or whatever. The Times is apologizing for not vetting the story before press time.

The Republicans are saying Palin has always been a registered Republican never an AIP member HOWEVER that doesn't mean Palin didn't attend meetings. It's easy to think someone is a member if they attend meetings and I'll bet Palin was at those meetings.

See it's the little things with the Republicans
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
She was a member: "it was later discovered that state records show Palin to have been a member of the Alaska Independence Party from 1995 to 2002"

I am checking the source...it is wickepedia, which I know means nothing....but it was on there for a while. Checking. Hold off NYT on that retraction......

And speaking of retractions.....what ever happened to the story of McSAMe's affair?
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
but didn't she endorse them by giving an intro to their meeting or something?
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
    Good point.
  • devis1 · 1 year ago
Yeah but Hubby Todd was a member and she addressed them in March 2008. Todd is just starting to be vetted.
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
. . . judge Palin by the company she courts?
  • ikonoklast · 1 year ago
Now we get to see just how hypocritical a bunch the American news media are. If race was not the overriding factor behind the endless Wright coverage that was used to denouce a presidential nominee who also happened to be black, then these remarks by Vogler should cause a similar level of outrage, because what he said's about as close a parallel to "goddamn America" as you're going to find.

How much you bet that we don't see the same level of outrage and the same questioning of patriotism directed towards Vogler and Palin?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    But, Vogler is not black.

Ummmm, btw, ogawd, no... the good lord would not have planted me here, but here I am...

we've survived the worst of Gustav... we're looking over what's left.

"W" is well-vetted because of his daddy?

McPalin - a match made at the gates of hell.
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
I don't know about you but I'm very uncomfortable with the idea of her getting national security briefings. They are supposed to start right after she's confirmed.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
one of the tenants of the AIP...according to it's leader Mr. Carter is to "infiltrate mainstream American Politics" and push for Alaskan indepencence.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
now who is the trojan horse???? The manchurian candidate???

Alaska represents about 1/8 th of our land mass......
  • Ellie · 1 year ago
This story just never ends... somebody, please wake me up when it's over.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
No, it does not...and trust me my friend, it's going to get even more bizarre. This woman is the gift that keeps on giving.......
  • Ellie · 1 year ago
On one hand I want to believe that this is a gift to Obama, but on the other hand, I really am afraid McCain/Palin will actually win.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
be sure to get out and vote, and tell others with pride to do the same and we won't have to worry abou that.... :-)
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Alaskans suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), also knowm as Cabin fever. They just go a little whack during those long dark winters. They come up with all sorts of lunacy. Mix in a bible and some booze and who knows what you will get.
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
Back in the '90s there was a show called "Northern Exposure". Those folks could really mix it up! Just one loon after another....but that was fiction and some snappy writing, I suppose.

    This is just getting scary.
  • Upland_Oddball · 1 year ago
How odd the parallels with Barack Obama that are developing. First, Palin's pentacostal preacher v. Rev. Wright. Now, Joe Vogler and the API v. William Ayres. I don't expect the MSM to give equal weight unless the blogosphere forces them to.

As for the NYT retracting their reporting on Sarah's API membership, that doesn't take back her husband's long association, nor her address before the API this year. The Dems and the Obama camp don't need to even step into the family swamp that involves the Palin's. Leave that to the National Enquirer and that sort. Sarah Pallin's very bad judgment in her voluntary associations and her involvment in sordid exxtremist policies and practices is more than enough fodder to take her on.--and down.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
...and she will and deserves to go down. This is not a nice person. Her first VETO was to deny health benefits to gay and lesbian partners of emplyees.... This is not a person with a heart, or a soul. She is evil
  • voxbear · 1 year ago
not the specific story i was referring to, but on the same vein:

And she is the perfect wing nut VP. They rather see destruction before their eyes, and won't believe it, rather than open their hearts, their soul, show any compassion, and, rather than open their minds.

All they see is themselves. What a selfish group of nuts.

Mr. Lieberman should be very careful.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
    Did she support Timothy McVeigh?
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
My partner lived in Anchorage for fifteen years about twenty years ago. He told me that they are nut cases up there....long winters, very cold, isolated. And the AIP types are real kooks and plenty of 'em. Time to vet Toddy and his buds.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Yes, they sound very, very kooky. At least the Conc republic of Key West does it with a sense of humor.
  • HarpoSnarx · 1 year ago
Yeah like those GOP Alaskan welfare queens will give up Uncle Sam's pork.

As for the economic terrorist oil companies, even THEY can't afford all those cold crackers.
