I've been listening to Rachel since her 6 am show debuted on AirAmerica and have always said that if I had money to do it I'd invest in her career.
I hope she concentrates on the radio facet of her career -- it's a much better medium for political discussion. Rachel is great on tv -- by far the best of anyone out there -- besides being smart and capable, she's attractive and appears to be enjoying herself. I wish her the best no matter what.

It more shows the immaturity of Fox and it's viewers. I would guess there may be some viewers who could be turned off by the comment, but still, others who will love it.

I would love to see more talking head with academic credentials - esp as engaging and ENGAGED as Maddow. She does a lot of work on her radio show - always a lot of news and substance -not like the rightie shows that just riff on the day's Rovian talking points for hours.

Last night as I watched Maddow launch her new show I felt the same kind of pride I felt when Obama won the nomination last June. Congratulations to Maddow on her show; and to MSNBC news for recognizing and rewarding intelligence and skill.
I thought the show was excellent and look forward to watching it daily. I'm glad Fox is promoting it.

Actually, I think there's a certain chemistry between Rachael and Pat. They actually seem to enjoy each other. She handles him well and he seems to have developed a certain amount of respect for her.

Pat started the segment with a threat that Rachel might regret her invitation and proceeded to foam at the mouth and attack. Rachel seemed to end the segment early when Pat donned his hood. Pat's a bad Lucy re-run...seen it.

Actually, I think Pat is very different in person than his TV persona. Rachel has called him a "gentleman" and Eleanor Clift commented on his kindness when her husband died. He and Rachel both relish debate and laugh easily and often, unlike the typical pundits who take themselves way too seriously.
I expect to see a lot of Uncle Pat. Rachel seems to enjoy him

I worked with him for a number of years. He's a very strange withdrawn man off the air…A nebbish who only perks up and acts alive in the presence of another Pat-perceived celebrity. He rarely meets another's eyes and has a drippy, wet flaccid handshake. He's also notorious for staring at the crotches of studio floor crews. “Uncle Pat” is a very odd, creepy man (as if a viewer couldn’t see this).

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy Rachael Maddow's professionalism and style. We're excited that FINALLY she has her own news hour. We don't watch the heterosexual, obscene phone caller, Bill O'Reilly. Not because of his aberrant sexual behavior, but because he comes off as a know-it-all that doesn't respect guests that don't agree with him (actually listening to him is a little like getting an obscene phone call). I'm sick of news programs where the guests and hosts shout over or at each other. MSNBC is to be congratulated for adding Rachael Maddow to their news line-up.

I've listened to Rachel since she was a local FM disc jockey here in western Mass. on WRSI. We're all very proud of her around here. I even had the pleasure of meeting her once and won Lou Reed concert tickets from her. She's very friendly and very personable.
This could backfire on the soft porn news station known as Faux News.
Their viewers may just tune into Rachels show to see a real live lesbian, get a taste of real journalism, and become regular viewers-forgetting why they started watching Maddow in the first place.

And the jackass that pulled Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews off the political coverage at MSNBC to give it to David "shake yo ass with MC Karl Rove" Gregory, should be relieved of his job duties and relegated to the file room for gross incompetence.
